We are looking for an inspiring, approachable, and experienced person to lead the organisation through its next stage of development. In the last four years, Citizens Advice in East Dorset and Purbeck have come together, managed the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact this had on the delivery of services; faced the increase in demand for our services through the cost-of-living crisis, as well as working with two other Local Citizens Advice (LCAs) in the Dorset Council area to deliver the Dorset Council Advice contract.

This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to play a key role in shaping the future direction and success of Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck.  You will need to be highly motivated, committed to making a difference and have the ability to take your staff and volunteers with you as together you face the challenges of the future.

With the Trustee Board, you’ll be leading the development and delivery of the way forward for the service in the future. You will need to engage staff, volunteers and external stakeholders, while continuing to secure new funding streams to ensure that the high level of service delivery is maintained. You’ll be a strong supporter for equality, diversity and inclusion for our clients, staff and volunteers.

The Finance and Operations Officer is responsible for maintaining an efficient and streamlined service across the organisation to support and develop the charity’s finance administration, operations, governance and HR functions. It is ideal for someone who thrives on making sure everything behind the scenes works seamlessly to enable impactful frontline work.

You’ll support core functions helping ensure our systems are strong and efficient. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to our wider mission of supporting 250,000 young Londoners access healthy food, positive opportunities, and pathways into meaningful careers. This is a varied and hands-on role, perfect for someone who’s proactive, organised and enjoys making things work better. Our partner, an established UK charity with a focus on fighting poverty by transforming access to health care services in lower- and middle-income countries in Africa seeks a highly dynamic individual for a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension. The position is part of the management team, and the post holder will be expected to lead on the financial accounting, management accounting, and budgeting for the organisation as well as taking forward some strategic finance and operations projects as we expand our programmes in existing countries. The individual will also be expected to support the Co-CEOs with administrative, compliance and IT related tasks.

Finance
•Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate.
Financial accounting
•Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with SORP 2015.
•Prepare for the annual external audit and host auditors ensuring the audit process runs smoothly. This includes supporting Vision Action’s country offices in hosting their respective audits.
•Ensure annual statutory accounts are finalised and submitted to Companies House and the Charity Commission by the appropriate deadlines.

Management accounting
•Coordinate the month-end process with the Finance Officer (UK) and Programme Finance Lead, and review transaction postings.
•Prepare monthly management accounts with cash flow forecasts, modifying the format as needed to suit the preferences of senior management and the Board of Trustees.
•Prepare the annual organisational budget and mid-year reforecast.
•Improve existing budget templates to enable straightforward and transparent budgeting for donors.
Support to country offices
•Collaborate with the Programme Finance Lead on a monthly basis to reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring that reconciling items are cleared promptly.
•Support country office teams in fulfilling any reporting and financial compliance requirements.
•Conduct internal process reviews (internal audits) of country offices where required.
•Review the bi-weekly payment runs for the UK office and the monthly country office fund requests, ensuring cash flow planning is in place for these payments.
•Ensure asset registers are maintained appropriately.

Administration
•Support staff in conducting procurement in line with our procurement policy.
•Assist with preparation for quarterly Board meetings.
•Support office management tasks.

Other
Review and develop existing policies and procedures (e.g. the Finance Manual).

The Outward Bound Trust's mission is to inspire young people to believe in themselves and achieve more than they ever thought possible. For over 80 years, its outdoor learning and adventure programmes have helped hundreds of thousands of young people develop confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to thrive in life and work.

Each year, around 25,000 young people take part in Outward Bound programmes across the UK, delivered through partnerships with schools, youth groups, and employers. Around 80% of school participants receive charitable bursary funding, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent young people from accessing these life-changing experiences. Bursaries are central to OBT’s purpose, underpinning its commitment to equity of access, diversity, and the belief that every young person, regardless of background, should have the chance to experience adventure, challenge, and growth.

The Outward Bound Trust is now delivering its 2030 Strategy, which sets out an ambitious plan to grow reach, strengthen partnerships, and invest in its six heritage outdoor centres. 

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll directly manage four experienced team heads and oversee a high-performing team of 18 who generate bursary, unrestricted, and capital income. The role sits on the Senior Management Team, working closely with colleagues across the charity to connect fundraising with programme delivery, marketing, and business development, ensuring shared priorities and greater collective impact. You’ll also play a key role in the Fundraising and Marcomms Steering Group, ensuring effective working between fundraising and external engagement.

This is a broad, strategic role combining leadership, direction, and hands-on relationship management at one of the UK’s most respected youth charities. You’ll work alongside a supportive CEO and senior leadership team, lead an experienced and capable department, and shape a fundraising strategy that will help thousands of young people access the power of outdoor learning and adventure.

As Director of Fundraising, you will:

• Lead and support a multi-disciplinary fundraising function spanning major donors, corporate partnerships, legacies, trusts and foundations, and events
• Deliver growth across bursary, unrestricted, and capital income, ensuring fundraising priorities align with organisational strategy and long-term sustainability
• Develop and implement capital fundraising plans, supporting the upgrade of existing outdoor centres and laying the groundwork for a potential new site acquisition

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Substantial senior-level fundraising experience with demonstrable success in leading multistream teams
• Proven ability to secure and steward six- and seven-figure partnerships and relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and foundations
• Strategic and analytical mindset, confident in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating performance
• Experience of capital fundraising or large-scale campaigns advantageous
• Credible, empowering leadership style – able to guide senior managers, foster collaboration, and provide clarity of direction

Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity raises funds for all ten hospitals in the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). Millions of patients pass through the doors each year and 15,000 NHS staff care for them.

We’re looking for a Communications Manager to work in our small but mighty Brand & Marketing team (who were shortlisted for Communications Team of the Year at last year’s Third Sector Awards, no biggie) to raise the charity’s profile, drive income and demonstrate the impact our charity makes across the hospitals.

Job Summary

Ensure effective delivery of the charity’s marketing and communication plans to raise the charity’s profile, generate income, achieve our fundraising targets and demonstrate the impact the charity makes to its beneficiaries.

Working with the Head of Brand & Marketing, you will play a key part in activating our new five-year strategy and successfully communicating our new organisational purpose. You’ll master the art of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in both University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and the wider community to join us in doing great things.

You are our lead press contact and will work with local, regional and national media and partner PR teams to amplify the charity’s voice further and generate increased coverage of Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC).

You’ll lead on key marketing activity, including fundraising events, campaigns and appeals, including the annual Christmas campaign.

Central to the role is ensuring we have excellent relationships with our NHS colleagues and hospital staff to enable us to identify storytellers, building on our “one team” approach and delivering impact reporting.

You’re our go-to person for our celebrity champions ensuring they are well looked after and engaged with our campaigns and appeals for additional reach and endorsement.

Key Accountabilities

Share meaningful content and powerful stories

• Lead the creation of specific charity key messaging and a case for support per project (e.g., Christmas, appeals) and ensure this is adhered to throughout all communications
• Understand our different audiences, utilising research and insight, and target communications accordingly
• Work closely with our fundraising teams on a content plan and delivery of communications, understanding the importance of stewardship, internal communications and our calendar of events
• Develop our impact portfolio, including the creation and design of the annual impact report
• Sensitively interview our storytellers, including patients, fundraisers and hospital staff, ensuring we’re using authentic voices throughout our communications
• Work closely with our grants team to ensure visibility around the hospitals
• Edit website content and ensure our news section is up to date
• Plan, create and post content on BWHC’s social media channels
• Create and submit content for UHBW’s Viva Engage that increases awareness and engagement with the charity, working closely with the internal and external UHBW communications teams to utilise other UHBW channels where available
• Lead on the content and design of Reach, our supporter newsletter, creating engaging and impact driven content
• Commission new photography and video, including obtaining permissions and consent for use. Monitor our image database to ensure it is compliant with GDPR.
• Create engaging video content promoting events, appeals or impact as and when relevant.

Champion our marketing campaigns

• Lead the promotion, activity and implementation of integrated marketing plans and materials as and when required across the year
• Manage the marketing materials workplan for the Brand & Marketing team
• Be the Brand & Marketing team lead on fundraising events, ensuring they have a good ROI and hit the fundraising/sign up target
• Work with the Head of Brand & Marketing to ensure any opportunities that arise from our partnership with NHS Charities Together and other charity partners are optimised
• Play a key role in the development and promotion of new ways of income generation, including merchandising.

Forge connections with PR teams and journalists

• Develop effective contacts and build personal relationships with local journalists and partner PR teams to initiate coverage and build strategic partnerships
• Lead communications activity for key national celebration/awareness days that BWHC can maximise income or engagement on
• Support colleagues with media interviews and delivering presentations, including supplying briefings or FAQs where necessary
• Monitor media coverage to ensure effective evaluation and reporting
• Lead on crisis communications planning and response and advise the Senior Management team as necessary.

Lead by example with internal communications and reporting

• Support the Head of Brand & Marketing with the quarterly team trustee report
• Provide data for analysis, KPI monitoring and internal reports
• Guide our internal communications to ensure BWHC staff are engaged and understand the activities and direction of the charity, including leading on Viva Engage
• Provide content for speeches, presentations and executive materials
• Work to continually improve internal processes to ensure they are effective and fit for purpose
• Support the CEO on LinkedIn content planning and creation
• To provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence and holiday.

Drive planning and budgeting

• Support the Head of Brand & Marketing in the development of the short and long-term Brand & Marketing strategies, business plans and budgets, prioritising workload across the year
• Manage the budget throughout the year and ensure any unexpected variance can be explained or accounted for
• In particular, lead, direct and deliver a new annual communications strategy, which includes our press and public relations strategy and our digital content/activity plan (working closely with the Digital & Communications Officer)
• Be an engaged member of the Management Team, contributing effectively to all departmental plans
• Manage and record any accompanying communications expenditure within the Brand & Marketing budget following correct ordering and purchase order procedures.

Lead and manage

• Line manage and offer direction to our two Digital & Communications Officers, ensuring they are supported in their tasks and responsibilities and meet their KPIs and performance targets
• Hold regular 121s, appraisal meetings and discuss training requirements/plans
• Support with the recruitment and management of our UHBW Charity Champions and ensure they are engaged, informed and convey key charity messaging
• Manage the relationship with our Celebrity Champions and ensure they are active and engaged with the charity and utilising their networks to maximise charity benefit and awareness.

We are proud to be working with a leading charity in their search for a Senior Philanthropy Manager.  They are looking for an ambitious and strategic Senior Philanthropy Manager to lead the development  of the Major Donor programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, budget, and KPIs, providing the strategic insight needed to significantly grow the programme.
• Manage and grow a warm portfolio of existing major donors and prospects capable of giving £100k+  designing bespoke care plans and compelling funding propositions.
• Develop a robust prospect pipeline in collaboration with supporting fundraising and research teams.
• Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Trustees, and colleagues to champion the work they do and leverage their networks for transformational gifts.
• Line management of a philanthropy manager, ensuring ongoing development and their targets are hit

Experience needed

• Proven, substantial experience in securing and stewarding a programme of gifts from major donors, ideally six figures, and successfully growing a multi-year pipeline.
• Experience taking ownership of a fundraising strategy and budget, with the ability to provide clear, strategic insight to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to write inspiring, persuasive, and complex proposals and donor communications that convey the urgency and impact of their work.
• Ability to work at pace on multiple high-value opportunities, particularly in a fast-moving environment

About the Role 

Neuroendocrine Cancer UK is entering an exciting phase of growth and development. To make the greatest difference, we need to grow in a way that is structured and sustainable, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for our first Director of Operations: a strategic, hands-on leader who can turn vision into action and passion into plans. Working closely with our new CEO, you’ll ensure that our people, systems, and processes all work together to deliver effectively for the communities we serve.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the organisation’s future. You’ll combine strategic oversight with operational delivery across key areas including HR, finance, compliance, governance, IT, and organisational processes. As a senior leadership team member, you’ll strengthen internal systems, support staff and make sure day-to-day operations align fully with our mission, values, and strategic goals.

Ultimately, you will help build the strong foundations and infrastructure that enable Neuroendocrine Cancer UK to grow sustainably, deliver high-quality services, and deepen its impact for the communities we support.

About the Charity 

We are Neuroendocrine Cancer UK. We exist to address the unmet needs voiced by the neuroendocrine cancer community, supporting patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of neuroendocrine cancers. Through awareness, research, better funding and support, we can give our community the attention it deserves

Our vision is for a world in which people know how to recognise, diagnose, treat, care for, and cure patients with neuroendocrine cancer.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Operational Oversight and Delivery 

• Lead and manage a small in-house operations team (2 staff members) and oversee the work of external consultants as required to deliver operational plans aligned with strategic goals. 
   
• Drive the successful delivery of existing services, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard while supporting the implementation of new initiatives and improvements. 

• Ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose and support delivery of strategic goals. 
   
• Management and maintenance of the Salesforce system.
   
• Maintain oversight of service development, ensuring it reflects user feedback and sector innovation (with Directors/Managers). 

• Lead audits and evaluations to ensure service effectiveness and continuous improvement. 

2. Governance and Compliance (working with CEO) 

• Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety. 

• Develop and oversee policies and procedures that uphold good governance, safeguarding, GDPR, digital governance, and ethical standards. 

• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). 

• Provide assurance to the CEO and Board on compliance and operational risk. 

3. Financial Stewardship and Operational Management 

• Support the CEO in ensuring financial sustainability. 

• Oversee day-to-day budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management. 

• Ensure timely processing of payments, payroll, and contracts. 

• Support income generation through sound financial planning and operational oversight. 
   
• Review all processes, procedures & delegations and suggest updates as necessary.

4. People and Organisational Development 

• Support the CEO to recruit and induct staff.

• Work with CEO to oversee HR matters including performance management (with HR support). 

• Prioritise staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development. 

• Support the CEO in succession planning and building organisational resilience. 

5. Service Quality and Improvement 

• Work with relevant management team to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with user needs and feedback. 

• Monitor performance and report on impact to CEO and trustees. 

• Drive operational improvements and support the development of new initiatives. 

6. Insight, Data, and Continuous Improvement 

• Collect, analyse, and report operational data to support decision-making. 

• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and audits to ensure accountability and learning. 

• Support research and innovation projects by ensuring operational systems are robust and effective. 
• Work with the board & CEO to review all processes, procedures & suggest updates as necessary.

ROLE

An exciting role focused on growing and supporting the range of events that take place in Bridge 5 Mill, being first point of contact with potential hirers of our events spaces, supporting our community of tenants and users, and supporting  Bridge 5 Mill’s day to day operations, including reception, marketing and social media. 

BACKGROUND

Bridge 5 Mill is a centre of social change in a historic 5 storey mill on the edge of Ancoats / Northern Quarter, comprising workspaces and event spaces. Our unique sustainable and ethical approach characterises our building and drives all our activities. Bridge 5 Mill is part of a family of organisations (part of the Fairfield Environment Trust, a registered charity) including the Kindling Trust, promoting ecological and social justice through a broad range of projects. 

We have just fixed our broken lift. This is great news, as the period without a lift had a significant impact on our community of tenants, wider users and on our income from venue hire (with far fewer events able to take place during this time). This came on the tail of the Covid pandemic, which transformed how and when people use workspaces and events spaces. 

We are now at a pivotal time to rebuild both our events program and our offer as a beautiful, ethical and central venue to hire, as well as exploring how to diversify our services. You will be an instrumental part in the development and growth of our activities and in overcoming these  recent challenges.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a small dedicated team to help us deliver our vision. Alongside the Building Manager, your role will cover day to day operations, reception, events and marketing. You will be central to supporting events and our hirers, promoting our social change vision, and making Bridge 5 Mill a thriving community hub. We are looking for someone with experience of managing or promoting events, excellent interpersonal skills, energy and leadership.

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE

Events and community building duties;

• First point of contact for enquiries about events or from potential hirers
• Liaise with hirers and event facilitators
• Build events collaborations and partners
• Assist with event setup and management
• Plan and deliver community, social change and revenue generating events
• Build a network with similar spaces in Manchester to strengthen collaborations

Marketing duties;

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis because of immigration issues.
