Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up. We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects. You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them. Trusts and Grants Fundraiser
Offering flexible working with a friendly team, we’re looking for a Trusts & Grants Fundraiser to support The Haven’s financial sustainability through efficient grant research, application, and grant management. You will navigate the world of trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to identify funding opportunities aligned with our objectives and submit high quality applications for support.
Your responsibilities include maintaining a well-organised grant pipeline, tailoring applications to funder criteria, and collaborating with colleagues across The Haven to ensure projects are delivered and measured. Building and nurturing relationships is essential. Your contributions will inform our grants strategy, ensure ethical practices, and contribute to our mission's success.
The role is full-time or part-time (30 hours), and can be remote, hybrid, or office based in Wolverhampton, depending on your preference.

Main Responsibilities
Grant Research, Application and Management:
- Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant-making organisations to align with The Haven’s goals, priorities, and funding needs.
- Develop and maintain a robust grant pipeline, tracking the progress of all grant applications from identification to closure. Include monitoring and review of application and reporting deadlines.
- Collate external research and collaborate with frontline managers and staff, as well as other team members to gather pertinent, compelling information needed to develop robust cases for support.
- Prepare tailored funder applications that match the specific requirements and guidelines of each funder.
- Provide relevant materials and support to The Haven’s communication team regarding grants publicity, ensuring funder requirements are met.
- Work closely with project delivery leads to deliver comprehensive grants handovers to ensure compliance with all grant agreements, terms, and conditions, ongoing monitoring and evaluation is in line with funder reporting requirements, and submission of timely high quality reports.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets and monitor expenditure against the project budget, to ensure funds are spent as required and in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation and records, ensuring The Haven’s CRM is kept up to date.
- Stay up to date with statutory contract opportunities and share information with relevant colleagues as and when opportunities arise.
- Support the tender writing process, undertaking research and developing copy with the support of the Senior Leadership Team where needed.
- Support the monitoring and administration of tender submissions, including deadline tracking, monitoring communications received and updating colleague stakeholders.
Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors and funding partners, and initiate and nurture relationships with new prospective donors and funding organisations.
- Identify opportunities for stewardship of relationships and explore engagement activities and events.
Grant Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the development of The Haven’s grants strategy.
- Identify long-term funding opportunities and trends within the grants landscape.

Compliance and Best Practice:

The Role

About the opportunity
Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Alongside the Wikimedia Foundation, our movement is composed of affiliate organizations, independent organizations established to support volunteers in a specific language, region or topic. The Wikimedia Foundation seeks a Fundraising Training Consultant to work with Wikimedia affiliates to grow and develop their fundraising processes and capacity. In this one-year, 30 hour/week contract role (with potential option for renewal) you will be responsible for working with affiliates to understand their fundraising needs and challenges, and to provide them strategic guidance and support as they put in place necessary structures and processes that will aid their fundraising efforts. This role will focus on building the capacity of affiliates to raise funds from a variety of new-to-the-movement donors, including government, multinational and multilateral funding opportunities, and local high networth individuals, as well as advising on systems and structures (e.g. Board composition) for strategic fundraising.
With affiliates located around the globe, the person in this role will need to be skilled in relationship management and cross-cultural communication. This role involves close collaboration with affiliate fundraisers and leadership. You will report to the Major Gifts Stewardship Manager (Fundraising) and work closely with the Vice President of Community Growth. This is a one-year contract and remote role that offers flexible scheduling with a commitment of 30 hours per week.
As a result of your efforts, our affiliate partners will be better equipped to engage in independent fundraising.

You are responsible for:
- Training: Provide learning opportunities for affiliate staff to build their skills around mid-level and major gift fundraising.
- Coaching and Advising: Advise on developing strategies to maximize fundraising potential and impact, including grant writing, event fundraising, other fundraising methods and donor stewardship.
- Strategic Support: Provide strategic advice to individual affiliates on board development. As appropriate, advise affiliates on the creation of additional fit-for-purpose systems and frameworks enable independent fundraising and foster long-term sustainability.
- Peer Sharing Facilitation: With the Lead Community Relations Specialist, organize and facilitate fundraising peer forums to encourage collaboration, sharing of best practices, and mutual support among affiliates.
- Liaising and Coordination: Act as a liaison between affiliate fundraising arms, fostering communication, collaboration, and alignment of fundraising efforts.
Skills and Experience
- Experience teaching and/or training nonprofit organizations on fundraising best practices, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
- Experience in a wide variety of fundraising techniques appropriate for non-US markets, including European government fundraising, Trusts and Foundations, Major Gifts, and Corporate Fundraising, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with best practices around donor data security.
