As Head of Policy & Advocacy, you will:
- Lead bold campaigns that influence government, shift public debate, and secure justice for excluded communities, including those affected by the Infected Blood scandal.
- Champion health equity: keeping hepatitis C elimination, harm reduction, and wider inclusion health issues firmly on the national agenda.
- Amplify lived experience by ensuring our campaigns, media work, and policy influencing are shaped by and centred on the voices of our teams and communities.

About The Hepatitis C Trust
The Hepatitis C Trust (HCT) work with people who face severe health inequalities, including people who have hepatitis C and other health needs. With almost 500 staff and volunteers, we are the biggest lived experience organisation working in Inclusion Health in the UK. Our teams work in every community NHS area and in every prison in England, conducting outreach and providing a link between NHS services and the people they struggle to engage. About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Learning & Engagement Officer to join the Trust’s Engagement and Volunteering team and work together with local schools and community partners to make sure the Park is welcoming, interesting, and enjoyable for everyone.
You will build relationships with representative community groups and stakeholders, listening to, and understanding their members’ needs, interests and barriers to participation. You will help deliver our heritage activity programme funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund working alongside colleagues to develop and deliver both targeted engagement activities and resources with these groups, whilst also using their feedback and advice to influence the Trust’s broader public programme and offer.
The postholder will work to develop and deliver community engagement and learning programme building relationships with representative community groups and stakeholders, listening to, and understanding their members’ needs, interests and barriers to participation. This will support ongoing programming of activities and events within the park to encourage a new and diverse audience alongside our regular attendees.
You will manage and support two advisory groups, including a Young Advisory Group and an Access Advisory Group and will also work as part of the project team working closely with the Senior Volunteer Officer and reporting into the Senior Community Programmes Manager.
The role is offered on a 14-month fixed term contract with Crystal Palace Park Trust. Weekend working will be required and there is potential for an extension after 31 December 2026 subject to funding.
This role is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of a partnership project between Crystal Palace Park Trust and London Borough of Bromley.
Responsibilities:
Relationship development and management
● Creating strong links to local community groups, schools and organisations; especially those who represent groups who do not currently visit or engage with the park. Work with them to understand the barriers to their visiting and engaging with the park and how they can be overcome.
● Working with the Events team by acting as an advocate for community groups and organisations to support the development and delivery of a public programme with particular focus on priority audiences.
● Further developing our network of partners and identifying new partnership opportunities, particularly with local cultural, heritage and community groups, to support audience development and deliver engagement opportunities for priority audiences.
● Supporting the procurement, briefing and management of freelancers to develop learning and community engagement resources and activities.
Planning and delivery
● Working with our partners to co-create and pilot engagement activity and resources.
● Working with the Senior Community Programmes Manager to engage local schools and elective home education services to develop and pilot resources.
● Working with the Marketing team to develop printed and online resources and materials.

Evaluation
● Providing data on community engagement and participation to The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the quarterly reporting process and for annual and summative reports.
● Supporting the Senior Community Programmes Manager and the Evaluation Consultant to ensure the public programme, learning and community engagement strands of the Activity Plan are evaluated, including a photographic archive.
● Undertaking other duties as required.
These responsibilities are broad and cover a range of aspects of our work at Crystal Palace Park Trust.
It is a requirement of the Trust that all staff work in a flexible manner compatible with their jobs and in line with the objectives the Trust must fulfil. Evening and weekend work will be required by arrangement. Time off in lieu will be granted on a one-for-one basis for overtime worked. The working pattern for this role is to be agreed, but it is anticipated that the pattern will involve one weekend day as standard.

Sands offers support to anyone affected by the death of a baby.
Our volunteers are incredible! They run peer support, community-based activity, build relationships with hospitals, run football teams, cheer at events and much more. Putting them first and enabling the activity they deliver is the primary goal of the Community and Volunteering Team.
Local peer-led bereavement support is a core part of what we do here at Sands. This is primarily delivered by Support Groups and Sands United football teams run by dedicated volunteers right across the UK, most of whom are bereaved themselves. About the role
The purpose of the role is to lead the successful delivery of ELBA’s Evolve Project, delivering employer-supported volunteering projects that meet the needs of the communities of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Haringey, and expectations of the corporate partners.

BeSpace is a small but growing Christian charity with a big vision to see a future where every child has the opportunity to access creative reflective spaces to develop personal tools to pray, reflect and grow spiritually throughout their lives, helping churches, schools and communities to flourish.

About the role
We’re looking for a warm, proactive organiser to help more women seeking sanctuary access our Touching Safe Ground programme — weekly trauma-informed yoga and English for wellbeing sessions in East London. You’ll reach out to asylum hostels, GP surgeries and community and legal services to connect with women who may benefit. You’ll support them in attending, help sessions run smoothly, and manage practicalities like childcare, refreshments and expenses. Do you want to work with multiple-award winning charity, FoodCycle? Our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community – including our school communities!
We’ve partnered with 4 schools across London to bring our free community meal to their families after school hours, with the additional goal of helping connect families with each other and the school and introducing kids to new healthy food.
We’re looking for some additional help over the next 6 months to support the volunteer teams on site and make these meals happen. You’ll need to have an interest and experience in working with kids and families!
By joining us you’ll gain an understanding of different aspects of local project delivery for a national charity. You’ll be hands-on and have an immediate impact each day, leading small teams of volunteers who cook in the kitchen and host our guests to create a positive and welcoming environment and a nutritious vegetarian meal.
Our school meals happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and we would ideally like you to work your hours across these three afternoons/evenings. You’ll be supporting 2 meals per week on average, with around 5 hours required per meal. That leaves 5 additional hours to join team meetings and complete other duties.
You’ll be supported by our experienced operational team, and we will equip you with a package of training and shadowing, including specific training around food safety, safeguarding and working within the lively environment of schools!
