Job description


Do you have a heart for people and processes? Are you an experienced HR professional?   

Fixed term for 8 months / full-time, 35 hours per week. We would be open to some flexibility on hours worked.

• Hybrid working –up to 60% home working with minimum of 2 days office presence in Oxford.

Starting salary £44,975-£49,280 with a generous pension contribution: up to 10 per cent employer contribution on annual salary.

Your role

The People and Culture Manager post sits is in a People and Learning group which brings together all the people specialisms from across the organisation – UK HR, people in mission support, vocational recruitment, mission learning and organisational development - to ensure maximum coordination and to strengthen a culture of diversity, inclusion, empowerment, learning and collaboration across all our people.

The post holder will have strategic oversight of the HR function in Britain for CMS and to practically provide support and advice to CMS leaders and staff and HR practitioners, so that effective and efficient policies, systems and processes are implemented and embedded across CMS. To contribute to the People & Learning (P&L) group’s work in building a culture that is inclusive, empowering, collaborative and always learning across all of our people.

What you’ll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have proven HR experience at manager or advisor level in business, public or not-for-profit sectors, proven recruitment and employee relations experience. You will be a confident and effective communicator with a big picture overview with an eye for details.

It is also a requirement for this post holder to be a committed and practicing Christian and committed to the values and aims of CMS.
