Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

Role: Fundraising Database Manager
Location: The Haberdashers' Schools, Elstree, Hertfordshire but with hybrid work
This is an exciting time for Haberdashers’ Girls’ School and Haberdashers’ Boys’ School. This effort is led by a small but dynamic development & alumni relations team working across both schools.
Overview
The Fundraising Database Manager plays a key role within the team, with overall responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Raiser's Edge donor/alumni database, gift processing and alumni networking platforms across both schools. You are comfortable extracting, interrogating and reporting on data to help inform strategy, always looking for ways to use and improve your skills and experience to make an impact. You will have a sophisticated understanding of how to export, import and (where warranted) merge multiple datasets. Finally, you never forget that behind the data are real people, and that ensuring the integrity, accuracy and protection of their data is vitally important, both for them and for the schools.
Location: Borehamwood, 15 miles northwest of central London. A flexible work schedule, including a mix of remote and on-site working, will be possible for the right candidate.

Whizz Kidz: the facts

We’re here to change that.
As the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users (9 months -25 years old), we empower young people by providing the wheelchairs, equipment, support and confidence-building experiences they need, and campaigning for a more inclusive society.
And we won’t stop until they are mobile, enabled and included.
The Team
The Trusts and Foundations Team is part of the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Department and is central to Whizz Kidz contributing to its ambitious goal of ensuring that every young wheelchair user in the UK is mobile, enabled and included. You will create and maintain a prospect list, apply for relevant opportunities and effectively steward existing funders, preparing reports and updates ensuring they meet donor guidelines. Furthermore you will support the migration of our CRM from Raisers Edge to Microsoft Dynamics.
The person
You will have Trust fundraising experience with excellent research and writing skills with ability to identify new Trusts to apply to, prepare accurate and compelling donor reports and case studies and be confident in approaching donors and promoting the work of Whizz-Kidz. You will have strong donor stewardship skills with ability to tailor approaches to the needs of the donor.
