At Mosaic - Supporting Bereaved Children, we are clear that our mission is to enable children and young people who have lost someone very close to them to come to terms with their grief in a positive and caring way. Our work transforms young lives and we'd like you to be part of this.
We are looking for a passionate individual to help tell our story to the local and wider community about what we are doing, and how we transform young lives. We provide counselling to more than 400 children and young people every year, and support many more families and professionals through our uplifting weekend activities, and education programmes. This role -engaging, communicating, campaigning - is simply vital to our success.
This is a new post for Mosaic so the individual will have a chance to shape the strategy, advise the CEO and Trustees about our communications and marketing, and be part of a friendly and highly motivated team of 13 (mostly part-time) staff, working on events and activities, fundraising, counselling, training and education.
What you will do
The role will involve:
Researching and adivising on how we best engage with our audiences such as our volunteers, families and other charities through different channels and approaches.
Creating a communications strategy which will strengthen our profile, and improve our website's content, look and feel to ensure more clarity about what we do, more reach and impact
Developing our social media content with the team, thinking about how young people use it and producing metrics on this. Work with our young people, volunteers and others to create fantastic video content to show our impact.
Leading campaigns for Mosaic, driving impactful communication and building partnerships with the media and other organisations across Dorset to support our mission.
Be part of the team effort to create an overall five-year strategy for Mosaic as we grow, thinking about how we demonstrate our impact and the great relationship we have with schools and charity bodies across the county.
Create press releases and moments where we can tell everyone about the work we're doing, and supporting national campaigns on child bereavement.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience of working in communications, preferably with some marketing experience.
A good track record of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective awareness campaigns
Experience of working with different platforms, including Meta and TikTok.
Experience in analysing group to create tailored user-journeys
An understanding of media and confidence to engage with them at a local and regional level

Youth Mentor
Location
· The Junction Youth Centre High Wycombe and South Bucks
Working Hours
· The Junction Youth Centre is open 7 days per week. This role is 37 hours per 7 day week, to be worked in the following format;
Three days per week 1-9pm based at The Junction Youth Centre (weekdays or weekends)
Two days per week 9-5pm based in the community and schools (between Monday- Friday)
Position in the Organisation
· Reports To: Centre Manager
· Working With: The Action4Youth team and external agencies
The Youth Mentor will deliver one to one mentoring to a caseload of young people aged 11 to 18 years (up to 25 with SEND) who are identified as at risk. They will also deliver group sessions and general youth work at The Junction Youth Centre twice a week. The Junction Youth Centre is open 7 days a week 4-9pm; the mentor will support group sessions twice a week and spend the rest of their time delivering 1:1 interventions.
The mentor will work in partnership with the Action4Youth core team based at The Junction, as well as schools and other organisations such as social services, the Youth Offending Service and Buckinghamshire Council to identity and refer young people.
The mentor will work with a mixture of young people from different backgrounds, some of whom may have disabilities or additional needs. This intervention will work with young people who are experiencing low self-esteem and confidence, anxiety, low level mental ill health and challenging behaviour.
In order to build a rapport with the young person interactions will be face to face and the mentor will meet them for approximately 1 to 2 hours per week for a 6 to 12 week period.
The mentoring programme is free of charge for all young people.
Activities structure and the role:
· To be a positive role model at all times
- To liaise with schools and other key organisations to promote the mentoring service and receive referrals.
- Work with the staff team at The Junction to deliver group work sessions and assist with general youth work on two days per week
- Build a rapport with young people and manage a caseload.
- Conduct weekly mentoring sessions with young people and to provide advice, guidance and information to young people to allow them to make informed decisions
- Work with young people to direct, and then support them, into more positive activities in their local community
- Create action plans with young people to identify their next steps
- Keep records of interactions and use the Outcomes Star framework to track progress of young people
- Maintain a quality service at all times
- Provide reports and case studies for funders as required
- Ensure Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures have been followed and incidents reported.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. The Regional Manager (RM) roles are responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, which includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, general oversight of mentoring relationships in different programmes, implementation of safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the administration and delivery of the programme. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent. We are keen to have someone joiun us as soon as possible.
The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development to ensure that the courses are full, supported, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.
The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. Together they are playing their part in the re-evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the church and the transformation of society.
Whilst the North-East is an amazing place to live, there are still challenges, with large disparities between Gateshead’s wealthier and poorer areas, and 23,600 people live in areas described as having deep deprivation. With this comes all the associated issues that poverty causes, including 1 in 4 children growing up in poverty and one of the worst levels of social mobility in the country.
In Gateshead, Resurgo is partnering with Alive Church – Spear Gateshead will be a key part of Alive Church’s mission to change the culture of the city by bringing hope to unemployed young people. In joining the Spear Gateshead team, you will be part of the social outreach programme at Alive Church.
The important stuff
Salary: £26,000, pro rata (£20,800)
Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday –Thursday, Part-time (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Personal qualities we’re looking for
- An active Christian, able to personally represent the values and beliefs of Resurgo and Alive Church, and a commitment to grow and learn spiritually and as a Christian leader
- A dynamic and engaging coach with an enthusiasm for and direct experience of coaching and training techniques
- Passion for social justice and for working as part of the church to transform communities, especially supporting young people in employment or education
- An entrepreneurial and ambitious individual who enjoys starting new projects, works well under pressure and can translate ideas into practice with creativity
- Self-motivated with strong leadership, management and organisational skills with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a confidence in group facilitation, high emotional intelligence, and a sense of fun!
Key Responsibilities
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.
Line Management and training
- Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
- Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.
Church Community
- The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
- Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.
Site management and set-up
- Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.
