The Steel Valley Project carries out a diverse range of countryside and green space projects in Sheffield and the surrounding areas, working with partners, volunteers, the local community and schools to improve the area for people and wildlife.

The Business Support Officer will provide support to the team through a range of administration, finance, marketing and HR tasks and work as part of our small staff team, alongside a number of volunteers.

The role will include general administrative support, co-ordinating office based systems & procedures, providing HR support and marketing the work of the charity, liaising with the General Manager, other officers and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have experience of work in administration, finance, HR, marketing and will have excellent communication and IT skills, alongside an enthusiasm for the charity and environment sectors.

Based in our Stocksbridge office, the role will consist of 15 working hours per week and a staff pension is available.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides vital support to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities in Nepal. We have been working in Nepal for over 50 years, delivering essential financial and medical aid to Gurkha veterans and widows, and working with local communities to provide access to clean water and education. We also build earthquake-resilient homes for our most vulnerable pensioners.

This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

 1. Develop and implement the Trust’s Individual Giving acquisition strategy across regular giving, one‑off donors, mid‑value supporters, and legacy pledgers, in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising & Communications.

2. Lead the planning and management of the annual acquisition budget, ensuring income and expenditure forecasts are accurate and regularly monitored.

3. Deliver integrated, supporter‑focused campaigns across direct mail, TV, door‑drop, inserts, press, telephone fundraising, and digital channels, ensuring activity meets agreed targets, deadlines, and quality standards.

4. Work with the Database Manager and external partners to ensure accurate data selection, segmentation, and fulfilment for all campaigns.

5. Monitor donor behaviour and key performance indicators, including attrition, response rates, and ROI, and develop strategies to enhance retention and reactivate lapsed supporters.

6. Collaborate with creative and fundraising agencies to test, refine, and optimise campaign content, propositions, and targeting.

7. Ensure the highest standard of donor care, working closely with the Individual Giving (Stewardship & Retention) Manager, Database Manager, and fulfilment providers to deliver a consistent and positive supporter experience.

8. Strengthen the regular‑giving acquisition proposition, identifying growth opportunities and mitigating donor attrition.

9. Maximise Gift Aid income by ensuring all acquisition activity includes appropriate prompts and compliance measures.

Support legacy marketing activity in partnership with the Legacy Administration team.

KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity and membership society for those working or interested in tropical medicine and global health. We currently have around 2,000 members and Fellows from more than 100 countries, with a network of more than 10,000 involved with our work in some way.

RSTMH currently publishes two peer-reviewed scientific journals, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (TRSTMH) and International Health. TRSTMH was launched in 1908, is published monthly, and is a hybrid journal. International Health was launched in 2009, is published bi-monthly, and is Open Access. In September 2025, we announced the development of a new journal looking at the use of Artificial Intelligence in Global Health, which will be launching around May 2026. All three journals are published by Oxford University Press (OUP) and are supported by a global team of dedicated Editorial Boad members.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with relevant publishing experience to support the operation of our three academic journals. The role will involve providing administrative and editorial support to the Managing Editor, liaising with our authors, reviewers, external editors, and publishing partner, contributing to and - where appropriate - leading on journal development initiatives, and collaborating with internal teams within the RSTMH.

The role

• Check new submissions to ensure that they are in scope and formatted as per journal guidelines, before assigning to handling editors.
• Check revised submissions are formatted as per journal guidelines, before assigning to handling editors
• Check and export accepted manuscripts to production team at OUP, working with the Editors in Chief (EiC) to ensure all required information is included.
• Monitor manuscripts in process, working with editors, reviewers, authors and Managing Editor to identify and reduce unnecessary delays for authors.
• Be the first point of contact for authors, editors, and reviewers by monitoring the journals inbox, helping to resolve any disputes that arise within the peer review process or escalating to Managing Editor, as necessary within agreed timings.

Management of Casework Function

· Manage the day-to-day delivery of the casework service, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and to a high standard.

· Directly line-manage the casework team, providing supervision, guidance, and support.

The National House Project (NHP) supports Local Authorities to work with young people to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to live connected and fulfilling lives. Purpose of the Role 

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this exciting new role offers the opportunity to support NHP's internal expertise on Housing; ensure we have strong partnerships with Housing Providers and grow the offers of housing from Housing Providers across the UK, to support our growth as a charity. Essentially with more housing we can establish more Local House Projects (LHPs) and expand those that already exist, and in turn support more young people.

Working closely with senior leadership team (CEO, Director of Practice and Director of Partnerships), this role will lead on developing our first Housing Strategy and ensure we have the internal knowledge, expertise and capacity to grow our housing partnerships.

Key Responsibilities 

General 

• Lead the development and implementation of NHP’s Housing Partnership Strategy in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team ensuring aligned with organisational priorities and growth of NHP. 

• Build, develop and sustain a strong pipeline of housing partners across all NHP locations- at both a local and national level. Maintain effective relationships with existing providers whilst identifying new business and strategic housing opportunities to grow supply. 

• Work closely with local authorities (and LHPs) to understand regional housing supply, demand and challenges- with a view to informing the Housing Partnership Strategy. 

• Develop and maintain a database of partnerships with Housing Providers, and opportunities for growth  

• Represent NHP at regional and national Housing Forums, conferences and events 

• Support Local House Projects to negotiate property offers and advocate for care-experienced young people and the NHP approach

• Support the preparation of housing partnership updates, impact stories, and social media content.

We’re looking for a part-time Executive Assistant (20 hours per week) to support our Executive Leaders and help Samaritans continue to be there for people when it matters most.​

As an Executive Assistant, you’ll be highly organised and a great communicator. You’ll be responsible for providing highly efficient and effective support across all administrative and organisational activities. Working in a responsive team you will be one of the first points of contact for the Executive Leadership Team and will assist with administration and organisation of diaries for meetings and travel arrangements, preparing briefs and drafting a range of communications. You’ll attend key meetings in a supporting role and ensure efficiency and timely support to the Leadership team.​

​You’ll also assist with front-line reception administration services in the Ewell (Surrey) Office as required.

• ​Manage the diaries of our Executive Leadership Team, prioritising demands where required
• Coordinate travel, accommodation and other logistical arrangements
• Prepare, check and administer paperwork for meetings, ensuring deadlines are communicated and met
• Provide coordination support to our Senior Leadership Team for key meetings and activities
• Draft correspondence for the Executive Directors and monitor responses
• Coordinate the preparation and dissemination of reports and documentation

Our Service

Trauma Recovery CIC is a female founded not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to providing vital support services for victims and survivors of trauma. Founded in 2020, our mission is to build a safe, supportive, accessible, and sustainable service for the community.

Butterflies Lived Experience Community is an integral part of Trauma Recovery CIC, bringing together people with lived experience of sexual, domestic and/or relational trauma to form a community that supports each members ongoing recovery journey.

Every member of the Butterflies team has direct personal lived experience of sexual, domestic and/or relational trauma and use their own courage to support others to connect with theirs and use this to fuel their recovery.

The team consists of level 1,2 and 3 Lived Experience Facilitators, Volunteer Ambassadors who come together to support community members and develop the service on a co-production model. 

The Level 3 LEF Role

Our Level 3 LEF role requires a Social Work qualification and registration.

As well as facilitating groups and key working, Level 3 LEF’s take responsibility for:

• Completing initial appointments with new community members to ensure that the team has a good
  understanding of their support needs and that they can be safely supported through Butterflies LEC.

• Mentoring and supporting the Level 1 and 2 LEF’s and Ambassadors

• Working with community members, team members, Trauma Recovery leadership team and partner
  organisations to develop the service.

• Facilitating the understanding trauma programmes

• Providing reporting data to Trauma Recovery CIC Business Operations Lead and working with them to complete
  reports for funders and funding/grant applications.

• Co-chairing the Lived Experience Forum

• Contribute to the newsletters, social media, attend events to promote the service (at times this may require
  attending events outside of usual working hours).

• Ensure that all team members complete required admin accurately and in a timely manner and processes are
  followed.

• Highlight concerns about team members to the leadership team, identify ways to support the team or team
  member and offer the support.

Our ideal candidate

• Is someone who has walked their own recovery journey, experienced therapeutic support as part of this and understands the benefits on both a personal and professional level of therapy and group support.
• They will be a qualified, registered Social Worker with relevant social work experience of co-ordinating a service, mentoring team members and working from a systemic perspective.
• They will have experience of completing risk assessments, keeping records and using software and systems to do this effectively.
• They will be able to communicate and connect with people from a variety of backgrounds, understand their individual needs and work creatively to meet them in way that supports recovery.

YMCA Community Counselling Dialogue offer free short-term face to face, group and online therapy for young people aged 11 - 18 who live or have a GP in West Sussex. We offer a range of talking therapies, group sessions for young people who are struggling with their mental health. We see young people in different locations in the community such as youth centres, children and family centres and our own buildings. Our online counselling takes place over an electronic therapy platform.

We are recruiting for a qualified counsellor to join our team of therapists as a Community Counsellor based in Littlehampton. You will be passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.

Your contracted base will be our main office in central Hove, and you will deliver services in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

Key responsibilities

• Offer assessments to children and young people within the Tier 2 Counselling Service
• Manage a caseload of children and young people, delivering counselling within the West Sussex Dialogue service model
• Work with the project administrator and project manager to ensure high quality delivery of service
• Work systemically, e.g. liaise with and include parent/carers, educators, health professionals when appropriate and as agreed by the client
• Manage the tight time boundaries of the role and the often complex and varied workload
• To develop and co-facilitate groups for children and young people in the service
• Work at all times within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and follow YMCA Dialogue safeguarding procedures and policies
• Maintain individual membership of the BACP and to become a Registered Member (or other professional body such as HCPC)

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

• Experience of working as a Counsellor post-qualified at diploma, graduate or post graduate level or equivalent, including working with risk issues
• You will have a BACP Membership; BACP Registered or Accredited. Or other professional body e.g. HCP
• You will also have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies, and procedures
• An in depth understanding of counselling theory and practice and working to short-term models
• You will have proven experience in safeguarding children and young people, responding to, managing, and referring safeguarding issues
• You will be familiar with using creative therapeutic approaches, along with experience of working with children and young people aged 11-18 in community settings
