At Likewise, the core of what we do is build meaningful one-to-one relationships with people who are finding life difficult, and use those relationships to help people feel supported and make change.
We're recruiting up to three Hostels Mental Health Support Workers to join a brand new service, starting this autumn. In this role, you would be doing that work inside Camden's homelessness hostels, going in to work alongside residents and the staff teams who support them. You would be embedded in a set of hostels, aligned to a part of the borough, with a regular on-site presence and a caseload of up to 15 people.
The people you work with are adults experiencing homelessness with complex needs, whose mental health is often a practical barrier to moving on. Much of the work is about helping someone stabilise and build the confidence to take their next step.
Camden's Adult Pathway is made up of 16 hostels, supporting around 600 people experiencing homelessness with complex needs. Mental health need in those hostels has risen sharply, and hostel staff are holding far more of it than they are set up or supported to hold. This is a new service, funded by government for three years. The model is designed but not yet lived, and whoever joins will help shape how it actually works.
Likewise is a community-centred mental health and wellbeing charity based in Camden. We believe that people thrive when they have access to meaningful relationships, supportive communities and opportunities to contribute. We're also committed to building a different kind of organisation, one that values trust, learning, autonomy and shared responsibility.
You don't need a specific qualification to apply, and we welcome people from a range of backgrounds. But this is not an entry-level role: we need people with real support work experience behind them. We care more about how you are with people, how you think and how you work than about your CV on paper.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
We want to make our recruitment as inclusive as possible. If there is a part of this process where you may need reasonable adjustments to do your best, please get in touch to chat it through.
Your CV: we welcome either chronological or skills-based CVs, whichever works best for you.
Your cover letter: we will not accept generic letters; you need to answer the following question: Tell us about a time you supported someone through something difficult. What did you actually do, what was hard about it, and what did you learn? This can be from work or from volunteering. Please answer in no more than 500 words.
We support often isolated, marginalised or excluded people by building authentic relationships and community together.

the North West. As the programme moves from establishment into growth, we are seeking a highly
organised, relationship-focused Dreams Coordinator based in the North West to deliver life-changing
dreams and strengthen the programme's reach and sustainability.
The role combines hands-on dream delivery with programme development. You will coordinate
individual, urgent and community dreams from referral to completion, while continuing to grow
referral pathways across education, health, social care and community settings so that more eligible
children can access our support.
A key focus for Year 3 and beyond will be building strong local relationships with referrers,
stakeholders, businesses, community partners and funders. You will act as a local ambassador for
Dreams Come True, sharing programme impact and helping to identify funding, sponsorship and
gifts in kind that support long-term sustainability.
This role is ideal for someone who combines compassion, creativity and excellent coordination skills
with confidence in networking, stakeholder engagement and programme growth.
We are suggesting a 2,000 characters maximum use for cover letters. That should be enough space for applicants to:
- Explain why they want the role.
- Demonstrate relevant experience or transferable skills.
- Show alignment with the charity's mission.
Many thanks and good luck!

Could you be our new Fundraising and Events Coordinator at Destitute Animals Shelter?
We're looking for someone who not only loves and cares for animals but is also resilient and resourceful in dealing with humans! If you're the sort of person who isn't afraid to develop and try out new and creative ideas to put us out into the community, but who is also well experienced in raising funds and running events that make a real financial and social impact, this could be the role for you.
This is a brand-new position within our Shelter's small team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Everything we do is in service of our mission to Rescue, Love, Repeat, taking in animals who have nowhere else to go, giving them the care they need, and finding them the homes they deserve. You'll report to the Chair of our Fundraising and Promotion Committee and work closely with our Operations Manager, with strategy and support offered throughout. Your role will be operational, with a focus on delivery and community engagement, and you'll be encouraged to make your own mark on it as we grow.
Destitute Animals Shelter has developed a Fundraising Strategy for 2025 – 27, and we're looking to diversify our income streams to make sure we're hitting the financial targets that cover the rising costs of the good work we do daily at our Shelter. With support from the Committee, you'll help shape that strategy as well as deliver against it.

Is This You?
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
It would be a bonus if you also had a relevant qualification in fundraising, marketing, events or business administration, experience in the charity or animal welfare sector, knowledge of fundraising regulations, or experience using CRM or donor databases.
Above all, we're looking for someone with a genuine passion for animal welfare, an enthusiastic and proactive attitude, and a calm, friendly, can-do manner under pressure. You'll be reliable, professional and trustworthy, a natural team player who genuinely enjoys supporting volunteers, and someone with the emotional intelligence to read the needs of others and the self-awareness to keep growing in the role.
A couple of practical points: You'll need to be a car driver with a full, clean driving licence, and you'll need to be willing to work the occasional evening and weekend to support events and fundraising activities.
