Greyhound Rescue Wales (GRW) is Wales’ leading charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers. Founded in 1993, we have spent more than three decades championing the welfare of sighthounds and working towards our vision: a Wales without greyhound racing, where every greyhound and lurcher has a home and receives the best possible care.
In April 2026, after 25 years of determined campaigning to improve welfare and regulation within the racing industry, legislation to ban greyhound racing in Wales was finally passed. This landmark achievement marks the beginning of a new chapter for GRW as we expand our reach and capacity across the UK to ensure every greyhound leaving the racing industry has a rescue space, medical support and rehabilitation on the journey towards their forever home.
To help us grow sustainably and strengthen our long‑term impact, we are now seeking to develop our fundraising team with the creation of a Trusts and Foundations Officer. This role will play a key part in increasing and diversifying our income, enabling us to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome even more dogs during this pivotal moment in our charity’s history.
Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Trusts & Foundations fundraiser who is ready to strengthen and diversify their experience, to work with small, medium and high-value funders, and to play a meaningful role within Greyhound Rescue Wales.
The Trusts and Foundations Officer is responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating all aspects of GRW’s work into compelling, high-quality applications for a diverse range of prospective funders.
As part of our Income Generation Team, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Sponsorship & Individual Giving Officer and Community & Events Fundraiser to help deliver an annual income target of £400K+.
You’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of trust and foundation relationships, building on warm funders while also researching and developing new prospects at the four-to six-figure level.

The Senior Trusts Fundraiser will lead this work, partnering closely with the Director to shape and deliver the next phase of trusts fundraising at Calibre Audio. This is a role with genuine scope to influence strategy, develop new opportunities and make a visible contribution to organisational growth. It would suit an ambitious trusts fundraiser who enjoys relationship building as much as writing applications and is motivated by the opportunity to help build something.
As Senior Trusts Fundraiser, you will:
- Develop and implement a strategic trusts and foundations fundraising programme aligned with organisational priorities
- Identify, research and cultivate new funding opportunities, with a focus on larger and multi-year grants
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective trusts and foundations
- Develop compelling, high-quality funding applications, proposals and report
- Secure significant income from a portfolio of trusts and foundations
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with funders through excellent stewardship and engagement
- Reactivate and develop relationships with previous funders and supporters

Where you’ll be based
The base location for this position is negotiable, with remote working / home working welcomed. If you prefer working in an office environment, you can work from one of our Field Studies Centres across the UK. Hybrid working options can also be considered.

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children. Today, the NSPCC lobbies government on child welfare issues, leads national campaigns and offers front line service support for thousands of vulnerable children. We do this directly and through schools, local safeguarding children’s boards and others, offering support, advice and training. The Supporter Data Operations team is part of the Fundraising Operations team in the Engagement & Fundraising Directorate.
The team is responsible for donation processing, data processing, data quality, and user training and support. The team are also involved in delivery of our ongoing Supporter Centricity project, focussing on delivering Salesforce to maximise engagement as part of the wider programme.
The Associate Head of Supporter Data Operations leads and manages a varied team who work with stakeholders across Engagement and Fundraising, Technology, and Finance. The postholder is responsible for c20 office based and remote staff.
Job purpose
· Strategic Development: Lead on recommendations to evolve teams, responsibilities and ways of working post Salesforce go live, ensuring that the NSPCC and our supporters benefit from the new technology.
· Team Leadership: Empower and enable the Supporter Data Operations team; foster collaboration and a culture of high performance and accountability. Support and upskill the team to evolve through change.

The Role
What will I be doing?
You’ll be responsible for a range of activities, including:
Co-design and deliver initiatives: Collaborate with the IOP and wider partner teams (Royal Society of Chemistry and Science Made Simple) to deliver core project activities including:
- Welsh Physics Teaching Network
- Easy Teach professional learning sessions
- Physics Forums
- Resource Round-Ups
- Whole-School Inclusion and Equity Network activities
- Primary and Secondary Science Days
Professional development delivery: Deliver evidence-based CPD, mentoring, and coaching to support practitioners, particularly early-career and out-of-field teachers, to build subject knowledge and confidence in teaching physics in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
Equity and inclusion: Contribute to equity-focused interventions that explore and address systemic and school-level barriers to post-16 physics participation, including unconscious bias and science capital gaps.
Monitoring and reporting: Track and evaluate programme delivery, capturing data on participation, feedback, outcomes, and impact. Contribute to quarterly monitoring reports and support external evaluation.
Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with schools in Wales, education stakeholders, and fellow partners. Represent the IOP in local networks and act as a regional champion for physics education.
Continuous learning: Develop and maintain your expertise in science education, curriculum reform, inclusion strategies, and subject-specific pedagogy to ensure interventions are current, effective, and aligned with practitioners' needs.

Who will I work with?
You’ll work closely with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, including:
- Colleagues across Membership and Inclusion, Education, Workforce and HE Directorates
- Project partners including Royal Society of Chemistry and Science Made Simple
- School leaders, teachers and technicians across primary and secondary schools in Wales
- Regional education partners and networks
- Teacher professional learning networks and subject communities
Ideally, we hope you’ll apply if you bring:
Essential:
- Experience teaching physics or facilitating science CPD at a secondary level.
- Delivering or supporting science education, CPD, or curriculum-aligned science communication.
- Coaching, mentoring, or training teachers or education professionals.
- Working with schools in Wales and understanding the Welsh education landscape.
- Leading or contributing to inclusive practice and equity-based initiatives.
Nice to have:
- Welsh language skills are desirable to support bilingual communications across the project
- Understanding of barriers to STEM progression, particularly for underrepresented groups, and strategies to promote science capital.

How will I be working?

The organisation is a leading nonprofit consultancy that helps mission‑driven organisations scale their social and environmental impact. Working globally, they partner with charities, social enterprises and funders to design and implement effective strategies that enable proven solutions to grow sustainably and reach many more people. Through consultancy, training and structured programmes, our client supports organisations to strengthen their models, build the systems and capabilities needed for scale, and create long‑lasting change.
This role is available on a permanent and full-time or part-time basis (4 days a week). The salary is £50,000 per annum. This is a hybrid role where you will attend the Southwark office in London one day a week, on Wednesdays.
The Training Manager will lead the delivery and development of the organisation's training portfolio, overseeing high‑quality facilitation across multiple programmes, translating business development scopes into project plans, and managing end‑to‑end training delivery. You will build trusted relationships with partners and funders, act as an external training expert, and drive the creation of new capacity‑building offers and learning infrastructure.
The role includes line management, coordinating associates, strengthening internal training capability, and ensuring consistent facilitation standards. You will sign off content, lead quality assurance, grow the training pipeline, develop proposals and contracts, and represent the organisation at events. You will also contribute to organisational learning, codify best practices, support recruitment, manage project and team budgets, and make informed delivery, communications, and partnership decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience designing and delivering training or capacity-building programmes, including stakeholder programmes. You will have strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt delivery to context. You will have experience managing projects end-to-end. You will have the ability to scope and design learning interventions in response to client needs. You will have experience line managing or mentoring junior staff or associates. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and experience holding relationships with funders or strategic partners, including ongoing account or relationship management. You will be comfortable working independently and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Experience working in or with mission-driven, nonprofit, or social sector organisations is desirable. Other desirable experience includes: familiarity with adult learning theory or established learning and development frameworks, experience acting as a trainer of trainers or building facilitation capability in others, experience contributing to business development, including proposal writing or pitching, and experience working with funders or delivery partners in a training or capacity-building context.
