The CMV Connect Project Coordinator role is designed to enhance the charity's outreach and support initiatives, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, families, and the broader community. CMV Action is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting families affected by congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV), a leading cause of childhood disabilities such as deafness, developmental delays, and vision impairment. The charity provides information, advocacy, and support to raise awareness and improve outcomes for those impacted by cCMV, both during pregnancy and in babies and children.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of CMV Connect initiatives, ensuring they align with the charity's objectives. Work with other Operation Team members and report to the Board fortnightly.
- Supporting families: Work with the trustees to follow up on those we support and identify how we can support them in the future. Work with volunteers to organise in-person and online opportunities for families to meet up.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteers involved in CMV Connect project.
- Event Management: Organise and support events and campaigns aimed at raising awareness and funds for CMV Action.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, community groups, and other families to promote awareness and support for cCMV. Provide social media content to the Fundraising Officer when each milestone is reached.
- Resource Development: Assist in creating and distributing educational materials and resources for families and healthcare providers.
- Data Management: Collect and analyse data to assess the impact of initiatives and inform future strategies. Financial data collection for the final evaluation report.
Person Specification
Essential
- Education: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience: Proven experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and working within a charitable or healthcare setting. Previous working experience with volunteers within a project would be ideal.
- Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel.
- Attributes: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Floating Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire. This service will provide emergency accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
The post holder will provide high quality support and safety planning to survivors and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. This includes enabling survivors to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.
The Floating Support Worker (FSW) will carry a caseload of survivors of domestic abuse to enable them to provide a more holistic and intensive support package. They will work closely with survivors from the point of crisis through to move on from the emergency accommodation. FSWs will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the whole range of survivors’ needs are met.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

You will work directly with LGBT children and young people who have faced abuse or violence, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of abuse or violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice processes, safety planning and support to access to other services which enable survivors to cope and recover. You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. About the role -
This role is a 2 year contract with potential for future funding
As our Participation and Social Action Lead you will lead on the participation and social action element of the project, supporting a team of young people to better understand and find solutions to experiences of violence in children’s services via social action projects based on learning from peer research with children and young people with lived experience of children’s services. You will lead on the development of a small team of young people in paid peer research and social action roles, providing line management, training, mentoring and guidance to develop young people's skills, confidence and cultivate a supportive group dynamic.
You will lead on identifying additional children and young people as research and social action participants and support the peer research/social action team to develop and undertake activities prioritising safety, trust and wellbeing – taking a lead role on safeguarding. You’ll also support the development of a range of output materials sharing research findings and take a lead role in supporting young people to design and carry out social action projects with local and national stakeholders.

We are looking to appoint an Alternative Provision Outdoor Teacher (“APOT”) The role is fundamental to the delivery of this exciting project. This role will deliver engaging outdoor learning opportunities to students who face barriers to mainstream education, who may be in alternative provision, at risk of exclusion from mainstream education or who would benefit from learning outside the classroom. Working with the relevant schools you will develop and deliver outdoor education that will engage students with learning experiences which create a connection to nature and foster personal development. Additionally, you will enable students to identify career opportunities, whilst developing life skills, resilience and independence ready for the next stage of their education or career path.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Virtual Casework Coordinator to join the Casework and Community Engagement Team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
About the role
You will be responsible for the efficient daily operations of the Virtual Casework Office. You will be working collaboratively with SSAFA colleagues and volunteers across all Regional Offices to ensure SSAFA beneficiaries receive a consistent, timely, and high-quality service.
You will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support, working closely with SSAFA Regional Offices, this will include supporting the volunteer network including our highly trained caseworkers, particularly with completion of cases.
This role will be key in supporting regions transitioning to our new digital platform, stepping in where extra help is needed.
About the team
The team operates within a "virtual" office and will assist in the rollout of the Network Delivery Project (NDP) across all regions. The successful candidate will join a support team that includes two virtual casework coordinators, under the guidance of the Virtual Casework Manager.
All team members are homebased.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector would be valuable.
