The purpose of the post is to take responsibility for the HR oversight, day to day HR matters and the overall HR management of the charity.

The role will require initially regular meets on the sites with the CEO & Senior Management Team to build relationships, understand current processes and to establish and implement a best-in-class HR service to managers and employees across the organisation, allowing the CEO & Senior Managers to focus on the essential strategic management of the charity. 

We envisage the first 6 months being a comprehensive review & reset of the charities HR policies, procedures and protocols. 

This will be a part-time role for 21 hours per week across 3-4 days. This role will be busy, interesting and provide an opportunity for you to make your mark within the charity. You will have line management responsibilities for a part time HR administrator who you will be working closely with. 

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate that you have the necessary skills, knowledge and practical experience to perform effectively. You should also hold a CIPD Diploma-level qualification and have a thorough, up-to-date understanding of current UK employment legislation. 

Your strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail should enable you to manage documentation and records effectively, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently. 

We are looking for a self-starter and someone with a demonstrable positive approach that has the ability to always remain calm and consistent with personnel at all levels, but capable of dealing with difficult situations. 

It is essential you have excellent English speaking and writing skills. You must have demonstrable skills for writing policy, procedures, letters, reports etc., and you must also be able to work in Office365 with confidence.

About the role

You will lead on all financial reporting, planning and compliance, and ensure financial information is accurate, timely and useful for decision-making. Key responsibilities

Board & Leadership

• Review gift aid and GASDS claims to ensure compliance and maximise income.

Payroll

• Ensure compliance with pensions, NMW and tax regulations.
• Oversee P11Ds and payrolling of benefits (where applicable).
• Support and oversee the Finance Administrator with SAGE payroll and keep up to date with relevant tax/employment law changes.
• Review payroll before submission.

Other responsibilities

• Manage high‑level cashflow and work with the Finance Administrator on daily cash monitoring.
• Line-manage the Finance Administrator.
• Support departments with project budgets, cashflows and grant applications.
• Develop and update financial systems and controls as the organisation evolves.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure cost‑effective purchasing (including IT, utilities and contracts).

About the Project

PKD Scotland: Outreach and Community Connections Project. 

It is estimated that around 5,000 people in Scotland could be living with Polycystic Kidney 
Disease. It is however often poorly understood and historically underfunded, meaning people 
can leave clinic after diagnosis with little support beyond medical appointments. Many tell us 
they don't know where to turn for emotional support or to meet others living with the same 
condition. We want to change that and with support from a National lottery Awards for All grant 
that is exactly what we are going to do. 

The eighteen-month project will see us reach into hospitals across Scotland to try and ensure 
that no one with PKD in Scotland has to manage their journey on their own. From diagnosis 
onwards we want all to be aware of the charity, the array of services that we offer and foster 
engagement. Two new volunteer led support groups will be established and a group of 
ambassadors recruited to support the ongoing connections we make to ensure that PKD 
remains in the spotlight. 

As our Scotland PKD Engagement Officer you will be central to the success of the project. 
Many people only reach us years after diagnosis, often when symptoms worsen, but we know

Job purpose

· Forward-plan funding streams to ensure a smooth and regular flow of income that meets The Avenues’ budget (currently £1.2m p.a., much of which has been secured for the next 18 months).

· Develop existing and new relationships with funders to maximise immediate and long-term income for the organisation and its various projects.

Housing Justice brings together communities and finds solutions to homelessness by building personal connections, a sense of belonging, and creating justice in the housing system. We train and support volunteers to offer various accommodation options while building a network of local support. About the role 

The Faith and Communities Engagement Officer role is designed to enhance and strengthen the infrastructure of homelessness services across Westminster by mobilising and supporting faith and community-based initiatives and groups. The intention is to facilitate effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector services and promote sustainable, community-led responses to homelessness and rough sleeping. 

Key responsibilities will include engagement and partnership development, capacity building and support, infrastructure and sustainability and advocacy. The role will play a vital part in bridging gaps between grassroots faith and community initiatives and formal homelessness systems, ensuring coordinated and compassionate support for those experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
