Big Tech companies have become so large – gobbling up a huge slice of the global marketplace and an unprecedented treasure hoard of user data – that they’re now more powerful than many states. The harmful effects of this concentration of power are everywhere – threats to our democracy, to our privacy, decimated workers’ rights and platforms rife with disinformation and hate. Big Tech and AI data centres are rapidly expanding, resulting in huge strain on energy and water supplies. We’ve launched landmark cases seeking structural changes to big tech’s harmful business models, supported 180+ Facebook content moderators fired for trying to form a union to sue Facebook. We’ve supported tech workers and their unions to file cases challenging union busting at Google, Amazon and TikTok. We urged state regulators worldwide to stop Google’s theft of independent news. We won the UK’s first legal challenge to a data centre permission decision and filed the first such case in South Africa. We forced disclosure of secret contracts between tech giants and the NHS, stopped a racist Home Office visa streaming algorithm, helped make grading fair for UK A-level students and challenged the Department of Work and Pension’s use of an algorithm unfairly flagging disabled people for benefit fraud investigations. The role
This is a fixed-term parental leave cover post for 1 year. The post holder will step into the co-Executive Director role with co-responsibility for Foxglove's strategy, impact, advocacy, operations, fundraising and public facing work. The post holder will work very closely with Foxglove’s other co-Executive Director and will make all sizable decisions about Foxglove together. UK and international travel (approx. 20%) is required.

Strategy, Leadership and Impact
1.Serve as a member of Foxglove's leadership team, helping to set direction across the organisation.
2.Work closely with the co-Executive Director and Director of Advocacy to align Foxglove's legal, advocacy and operations work.

2.Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of allies – civil society organisations, unions, policymakers, regulators, journalists, academics, and international partners – to strengthen Foxglove's reach and influence.

4.Act as a public voice for Foxglove's work – engaging with the press, media and public platforms as required to advance our work.

Our team works remotely; this role must be based in the UK, ideally London. Our team travels every two months for team days and annually for team retreats.

Job Profile
This role will lead CAFOD’s policy and advocacy work aimed at building a fairer global financial system. The post holder will have a solid understanding of contemporary global economic issues, including the global debt crisis, development finance and the workings of international multilateral organisations. Working closely with CAFOD’s overseas partners and within UK and global networks, this role will hold policy expertise on behalf of the organisation. This will involve developing policy positions and representing the organisation externally. The role will work closely with CAFOD’s government relations and campaigns colleagues to lobby decision-makers and mobilise supporters as part of our economic justice work. Sitting within the Advocacy, Policy & Campaigns team, the role is managed by the head of department.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the development and delivery of CAFOD’s global economic justice advocacy strategy
Working in partnership with UK and global organisations to develop evidence‑based policy positions
Influencing UK, regional and global policy debates on the global debt crisis, and other economic justice issues
Representing CAFOD in coalitions, to decision makers, in church networks and at international forums
Writing policy briefings, reports and communication outputs
Building relationships with external stakeholders and decision makers and UK and global levels
Ensuring advocacy is grounded in strong analysis, partner experience and a commitment to social and environmental justice
Supporting advocacy work of partners and global networks on debt cancellation and financial system reform
Providing strategic and technical advice across the organisation
Any other relevant duties reasonably required

The Southmead Project is seeking an experienced and motivated Fundraiser to support the charity’s long-term financial sustainability.
The postholder will identify, research and secure funding from trusts, foundations, charitable bodies, statutory funders and other appropriate sources. They will lead on developing high-quality, persuasive funding applications and reports that clearly communicate the impact of the Southmead Project’s work and the needs of the people it supports.
Working closely with the CEO, Head of Finance and trustees, the Fundraiser will develop and deliver an annual fundraising plan, maintain a strong funding pipeline, and support the organisation to diversify its income. The role will require excellent writing, research, relationship-building and organisational skills, alongside a strong commitment to the charity’s values and mission.
Develop an annual fundraising plan, alongside the Head of Finance and CEO.
Carry out ongoing prospect research to identify new sources of funding from trusts, foundations, charitable bodies, statutory funders and other appropriate sources.
Maintain a fundraising pipeline, ensuring that opportunities, deadlines, applications and reporting requirements are monitored effectively.
Build and maintain a database of prospective and current funders, including key contacts, deadlines, funding priorities and application requirements.
Monitor relevant local, regional and national funding opportunities, including being a sponsored charity at community events.
Produce funding applications for trusts, charities, foundations and statutory bodies as an ongoing part of the charity’s income generation.
Analyse data and feedback collected through outcomes processes for report writing.
Build and maintain positive relationships with funders, partners and relevant stakeholders, including the corporate sector as part of the charity’s income diversification strategy.
Attend monthly meetings with the Senior Leadership Team and trustee meetings as required.
To work within the framework, spirit and ethos of the Southmead Project’s Equal Opportunities Policy, and actively engage in promoting the policy within the charity and in all dealings with clients and other agencies.

Experience of using a database would be an advantage, but most importantly, you’ll be keen to learn, take initiative and contribute positively as part of a supportive team.
