Job description

The National Theatre is a creative organisation like no other, and we want to tell the story of our impact, our reach, and our global ambition with clarity, creativity and purpose. The Communications Manager, Corporate & Campaigns, will play a pivotal role in helping more people understand the NT’s mission, creating communications activity that celebrates the extraordinary range of our work and builds support for our priorities. You’ll lead on imaginative, impactful campaigns that put the National Theatre centre-stage.  You’ll work on the communications for our wide-ranging Learning programme, which includes our work with schools, training and skills, and talent development, alongside our new Nationwide partnership. And you’ll collaborate with our colleagues across Development, Policy, Finance, Data & Insight, Sustainability, Strategy and elsewhere to showcase and support their work. Together with the Senior Communications Manager, Corporate & Campaigns, you’ll shape and deliver a new communications and campaigns approach that will bring to life our priorities. And best of all, you’ll be surrounded every day by the best, most creative theatre-makers in the world and part of a fun, highly skilled communications team! This role sits within the Show Publicity and Corporate Communications team, working closely with colleagues across the NT to develop campaigns that connect our work to the issues, audiences and stakeholders that matter most.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in creating and leading corporate communications strategies and integrated campaigns that strengthen organisational reputation and drive advocacy.
  • Demonstrable experience in generating new ideas and creative approaches in corporate storytelling, including digitally, delivering measurable outcomes.
  • A track record of leading impactful, results-driven policy and advocacy communications, influencing decision-makers and shaping external narratives.
  • Advanced media relations, messaging and copywriting skills; experience in managing reputational issues; confident in high-pressure situations with sound judgement.
  • Experience in using data and insights to develop narratives, set KPIs and evaluate impact.

If that sounds like you, this may be the role for you!
