Royal Trinity Hospice is the UK’s oldest hospice and serves a community of 750,000 in central and southwest London. Trinity delivers specialist end of life and palliative care at the Hospice and in the community – including support and counselling services for family and friends. Trinity’s ability to deliver its outstanding care to patients and their families is reliant on the Compton fundraising team at Trinity delivering ambitious funding results. The role of Supporter Care Manager is a vital role in our delivery of fundraising services to our client and is a new role created by splitting our current Database & Supporter Care Manager role into two separate roles. This role will focus on the quality of our donor journey, associated communications and the accuracy of our reporting in conjunction with our client’s Finance team. 

The Supporter Care Manager will ensure that all processes for recording and thanking donations is accurate, timely and meets regulatory and reporting requirements, whilst providing a friendly and supportive donor experience. Assessing current processes, identifying, and implementing improvements in collaboration with the Database Manager will be a key focus. The successful applicant will have a passion for leading a team to deliver excellent supporter care and donor communications whilst working with and supporting the wider Fundraising team to deliver results for our client and their beneficiaries.  

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Manage the Supporter Care Officers and several Fundraising Volunteers - providing mentoring and training and completing performance and development reviews.
• Deliver excellent supporter care to our client’s donors and supporters and reporting to the wider Fundraising team.
• Ensure that the best donor experience and journey is in place across all income lines.
• Work closely with the Database Manager to identify and implement process improvements and where possible system automations. 
• Ensure that individual processes are mapped out and that clear instructions and training are in place to mentor and support the Supporter Care team.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to the Director of Fundraising.
• Collaborate with the wider Fundraising management team to provide advice and support in the implementation of new fundraising campaigns and events.
• Work as part of the wider Fundraising team providing support and participating in other duties where required.
• Work in a hybrid model of some days in the office and others from home.

Required experience, knowledge, skills and characteristics:

• Experience of delivering excellent supporter care or customer care in a charitable or commercial setting. 
• Good working knowledge of the Raisers Edge database and donor record management and an expert understanding in the input and recording of all donor data – particularly consent and gift aid information.
• Experience of managing a team to deliver excellent supporter or customer care. 
• Good knowledge of GDPR and other data protection regulations governing interactions with donors and the recording and use of information.
• Good understanding of the administrative processes required to log and successfully claim Gift Aid on individual gifts.
• Strong organisation and evaluation skills and ability to prioritise workflow and resources.
• Desire to exceed expectations and deliver the best supporter experience and journey.

Desired experience, knowledge, skills and characteristics:

• Experience of training and mentoring others to ensure the best donor experience.
• Automation of imports from various fundraising platforms.
• Experience of mapping donor journey and fundraising logistics processes.

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).

You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate and Community Fundraiser

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced corporate and community fundraiser with a proven track record of securing funds via community and corporate fundraising, to set up a new Community programme in London.

About the Role

Reporting to Head of Fundraising and Communications, you'll play a crucial role in raising funds by engaging with SME's and the local community. This role involves developing and implementing fundraising campaigns, cultivating relationships with potential donors, supporting staff fundraising initiatives and coordinating fundraising events. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and build long-term partnerships that contribute to the sustainability and growth of the organisation.

The Youth Zone has developed a targeted funds infrastructure with live impact data established and ready to utilise in funding presentations. It costs £1.7 million a year to run, 90% of which is generated through voluntary donations of which this role will be aiming to contribute £200k in the first 2 years.

You will therefore play a vital role in keeping the charity financially sustainable through the development of local business and community fundraising. You will be given ample scope to test your creative ideas and drive forward income generation, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Chief Executive and a forward thinking and engaged Board of Trustees.

About You

Being self-motivated and action orientated, you will be able to create and grow your own pool of potential supporters and thrive on 'making the ask'. As an enthusiastic ambassador, you'll be able to communicate this in an inspiring and tailored way and be comfortable in seeking and securing donations, whilst working alongside colleagues in the team to monitor and steward these donations appropriately.

Knowledge and experience:

Proven track record of generating income from Community and/or Corporate Fundraising. 
Experience of meeting ambitious targets for new business and stewarding. 
Experience of managing a pipeline of potential supporters/donors and aligning your interests with the organisational needs, to maximise gift level.

Job Description

Salary: £38,000 pa (rising to £40,000 upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period)

The Role:

DSWF is a wildlife conservation charity operating across Africa and Asia to end the drivers of wildlife crime and protect endangered species in their natural habitat. In 2024, the Foundation is still family-run and is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and have excellent skills in financial systems and processing. They will have an analytical mindset and be an effective problem-solver and committed team player. They will manage the day-to-day income and expenditure of the charity and its subsidiary trading company, provide financial support, reports and analysis across the organisation, while working with the CFO to produce the monthly management accounts and annual budget, be instrumental in the annual audit and provide financial reports for the senior management team and trustees.

The role will report to the CFO and work closely with the Senior Management Team to support the delivery of DSWF’s broad range of objectives across our Conservation, Education and Art strategic pillars. DSWF is a small organisation with a large portfolio of activities, and as such, this is a broad role that will work across the board with all team members to ensure an organised and efficient finance function.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Administration

· Maintain all financial records and data accurately and within agreed systems outlined in the DSWF Financial Handbook’s processes and controls

· Maintain up to date records on the finance system (Sage 50)

· Monitor and record income from all sources and ensure accurate and timely recording, including fund allocations

· With the fundraising team, ensure accurate and timely recording of income into the Raiser’s Edge CRM

· Daily reconciliation of all bank, control and intercompany accounts to Sage

· Banking of cheques and petty cash control in a timely manner

· Maintain the purchase ledger including receipt of invoices and expense claims, authorisations, cost coding and posting into the Sage system

· Process all bank payments, card payments and direct debits

· With the CFO, provide support to the Conservation team in analysing project financial reports, making grant payments and preparing financial reports for donors

· Liaise with the Art team over the production of sales invoices for the subsidiary Trading company as well as processing of e-commerce and offline sales

· Provide support to the fundraising team in the financial elements of event planning (including hardware and processes for receiving income at events) and producing full financial reconciliations and ROI reporting at the conclusion of each event

· With the CFO, provide support to the fundraising team in producing budgets for applications for funding

· Manage the negotiation of card and transaction fees with payment providers

· Complete month end accounts checklist and relevant journals to trial balance

· With the CFO, prepare monthly management accounts for SMT and staff

· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for the charity (using partial exemption principles) and the trading subsidiary

· Liaise with the fundraising team to ensure gift aid is maximised for every income stream and produce and submit gift aid claims on a monthly basis

Budget Management

· Support the preparation of the annual income and expenditure budgets

· Ensure income and costs are allocated correctly per agreed budget and highlight areas of variance

Annual Audit

· Preparation of papers for annual audit in conjunction with the CFO

· During audit be the main contact for collating all documentation and samples requested by auditors

Financial control systems

· Ensure financial policies and processes are fit for purpose, developing new ones where appropriate and deriving and implementing improvements to existing ones

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, solution focussed finance professional to join our central team as Finance Manager. Used to taking day to day transaction processing in your stride, you’ll use your experience to support preparation of the management accounts and be part of ensuring that we have the business information needed for decision making across the charity. The salary range for this role is; £35,000 to £42,000, (up to 39K for part qualified or qualified by experience, up to 42K for qualified)

Location: Hybrid – your time will be split between our office/venue on Bristol Harbourside, and your home or wherever you like to work, however we would like the successful candidate to be able to commit to at least two days a week in our Bristol office. ​

We’re happy to support a flexible working pattern across three, four or five days a week. You just need to be able to attend key meetings, have some crossover with the rest of the Development team and deliver the responsibilities of the role. ​

About the role​​

We The Curious is about to enter an exciting new phase in its mission to connect and empower everyone through shared creative science learning experiences, as we prepare to reopen after two years of closure in early 2024. Our new multi-year strategy, Plan 2030, encompasses numerous major projects for which we must develop and cultivate support.​​

The Development Team is responsible for fundraising across the whole organisation and the stewardship and development of our donors and supporters. The other members of the team are the Development Manager, the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Account Manager. We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager who is collaborative, organised and an excellent communicator to join the team to help us maximise and unlock some very exciting fundraising opportunities.​

As Trusts and Foundations Manager you will use your skills in research and persuasion to identify grants funding opportunities, establish new relationships and write and submit proposals to trusts, foundations, Lottery funders, the local authority, universities and research councils. Working closely with the rest of the team and project managers from other departments you will raise between six and seven figure sums for our programme of creative science learning and inclusion projects.​

What will you do in this role?​​

Role specific responsibilities​​

_Identify new grants funding sources, including trusts and foundations, research councils and statutory/government funders. ​​

_Prepare and submit high quality funding proposals, expressions of interest and budgets in accordance with strict deadlines and application criteria, to a diverse range of funders, for up to seven-figure sums. ​​

_Work closely with internal departmental teams to develop We The Curious projects so that they are ready for fundraising and write detailed and compelling cases for support that include timelines, budgets and evaluation and reporting plans. ​​

_Support the funding applications of other partner organisations by collaboratively drafting budgets, attending project development meetings and writing letters of support. ​​

_Support the Development Account Manager to cultivate potential funders, including attending on-site visits and events, phone calls and delivering presentations to secure support. ​​

_Support the Development Account Manager to manage a portfolio of funders including overseas relationships, fulfilling reporting and public recognition requirements, thank you letters, regular communications and other correspondence. ​​

_Liaise with the finance team to record new income and report on expenditure in accordance with funder deadlines.​​

_Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Manager in identifying new strategic opportunities and exploring new types of income stream. This may include presenting to the leadership team. Contribute to the delivery of the fundraising strategy, including proposing financial targets for grants, lottery and research income. ​​

_Work closely with the Open City Research (OCR) Manager to identify and pursue new funding opportunities for our ambitious OCR programme and work with the finance team to establish a new funding model for this activity. Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Sustainability and Science Director in cultivating high-value stakeholders in STEM and research sectors. ​​

_Assist in the implementation of the Development Team’s migration onto a new CRM database working closely with the Development Account Manager to customise the database for the Development team’s needs.​​

_Work with the finance team to understand our financial position and as requested by the Finance Director, contributing to key organisational financial documentation, such as the annual business plan.​​

_Manage Fundraising Volunteers supporting the administrative workload of the team and attend Volunteer Key Contacts meetings. ​​

_Attend and occasionally present at We The Curious staff meetings, exhibition launches, project meetings, project development presentations and meetings as required. ​​​

General ​responsibilities​​

_Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of We The Curious’ planned activities for communities and schools to present our work persuasively to funders and partners. ​​

What we’re looking for from you​​

_You’ll have at least three years of fundraising experience, with success at delivering against financial targets and strict deadlines. You’ll have the ability to network, build and manage funding relationships with a wide range of funders and other stakeholders. ​​

_You’ll be confident explaining and pitching ideas to internal and external stakeholders. ​​

_You’ll have experience of working very closely with project delivery teams to develop projects, ensure they know what they need to deliver for funders and monitor their expenditure. ​​

_You’ll have excellent budget management skills, the ability to work independently and effectively and will be confident reporting on six or seven figure budgets. ​​

_You will have good understanding of the financial and regulatory environment charities operate within. ​​

_You’ll have some technical knowledge and experience at using and developing fundraising databases. ​​

_You’ll have experience and confidence in managing multiple projects simultaneously. ​​

_You’ll have the ability to understand We The Curious’ broad-ranging project content and tailor it to appropriate style and content for target funders. ​​

_You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills. ​​

_You’ll ideally have an understanding or experience of working in education, culture and/or science charities.​
