Job description

Job description

Fantastic opportunity for a Senior Impact and Evaluation Officer

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) is a well-established and respected national charity offering specialist and expert advocacy and peer support to families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Impact and Evaluation Officer to join our fundraising team.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Impact and Evaluation Officer to help us understand, demonstrate and strengthen the difference our work makes to families bereaved by domestic abuse.

This is a key role within our small organisation and the only dedicated evaluation role. You will therefore have the opportunity to shape how we understand and communicate our impact across the charity, working closely with colleagues across programmes, services, fundraising and leadership.

You’ll bring together lived experience, insight and data to show the difference our work is making and help shape our case for support and future priorities.

Working across the organisation and with external partners and communities, you’ll design and embed practical approaches to impact measurement and evaluation. You’ll help teams capture meaningful evidence, define outcomes and build a consistent understanding of impact that supports learning, accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll bring together evidence, feedback and data to communicate what we are learning and the difference our work is making.

You’ll produce a range of engaging outputs, including funder reports, case studies, website content, infographics and impact communications, making sure findings are clear, accessible and relevant to the people who need them.

The role will involve working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners, stakeholders and people with lived experience. You’ll build trusted relationships and take a thoughtful, ethical approach to gathering and sharing evidence. By connecting evaluation with effective communication, you’ll help ensure our impact is understood, inform organisational decisions and strengthen our ability to influence change.

In return for joining us, we will offer you:

  • 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays
  • Excellent development and training opportunities
  • Pension Scheme
  • Healthcare Scheme
  • Employee Assist Scheme

Application closing date:  8th November 2026 at 11.30pm

To apply please submit a supporting statement along with your CV.

Applicants will be shortlisted according to how well they meet the criteria in the person specification.  Please highlight and explain how you meet these in your supporting statement. If you have been shortlisted for interview, you will be informed by email. Regrettably, we are normally unable to acknowledge unsuccessful applicants.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse.  We are also committed to diversity and strongly encourage applications from those with Black or Minoritised backgrounds.

We are not currently able to accept applications if you do not hold permission to work in the UK.
