Corporate Partnerships Executive

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Executive, to play an important enabling role, supporting the wider Partnerships team in the pursuit of new business, account retention/growth and fundraising/donor management.

Position: Corporate Partnerships Executive

Location: Central London/hybrid (up to 3 days/week can be home-based)

Hours: Full-time (with a 32-hour/4 day work week trial starting 1 July)

Salary: £27,000 pa plus excellent benefits

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will also have a dotted line to the Senior Business Development Manager. Together, you will be responsible for directing your day-to-day work to ensure the organisation is delivering for clients.

From researching prospects, project managing events, onboarding programme participants to following up with prospects and compiling impact reports, no two days will be the same in this highly varied and dynamic role. 

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Proactively managing new business leads and enquiries
• Supporting account management, growth and retention activities
• Undertaking research on prospects and leads for meetings and events
• Joining new business and account management calls and meetings
• Participating in programme recruitment and onboarding sessions
• Compiling data for and supporting in the production of proposals, terms of business, client reports and other documentation
• Assisting in the management and delivery of external events
• Maintaining accurate data and compliance within Salesforce

You will have experience in a client-facing role, ideally gained in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. You will be a clear communicator with a commitment to the organisations mission and work.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the leading cardiovascular research charity in the UK, funding around £100 million of life saving research each year - with the Retail directorate contributing nearly £30 million towards this annually.

This pivotal role involves processing stock collection requests for new retail shop sites, optimising online processes, and delivering continuous improvements for our stock collection booking system. You'll collaborate closely with the Stock Generation Lead to create a donated stock package, ensuring all activity is delivered on time for our field team to prepare the site for trading.

As Retail Implementation Stock Generation Assistant, you will work with teams across the business, including Retail colleagues, the Transport team and the Fundraising, Marketing & Engagement directorate.

You’ll be responsible for collaborating with field teams to determine stock needs and setting up and managing internal systems for stock generation. You will also track stock availability and liaise with various teams to ensure smooth processes for new store openings.

Working requirements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and one our Northampton office.

Please note this is a part-time role working Wed – Fri (21 hours)

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.  

The role as advertised covers a broad range of activities. However there will be peaks and troughs of workload. 

This job is for you if you are:

-  A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience of Xero ideal (training can be provided).

- Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) & Shared drive (eg, GoogleDocs).

- Comfortable working with a variety of IT packages, or learning how to do so 

- Very organised, able to take the initiative, able to work independently.

In a typical month you’ll:

-  Support the Chair of Finance; preparing monthly accounts. Processing receipts and payments for bank reconciliation; invoices and expense claims.   Filing finance documentation. Maintian the restricted v unrestricted donation records, Gift Aid schedules, HMRC returns.

-  Support  the Head of Fund Raising and Communications, liaising with donors (sending receipts, requests for information), researching potential donors, preparing grant applications, ordering brochures and marketing information. Acting as a day to day point of contact. 

- Support the Chair and Vice Chair of Trustees;  helping to prepare and distribute monthly meeting agendas, supporting papers, co-ordinating virtual meeting schedule, drafting and distributing minutes, .- 

-  Support the Chair of Governance ensuring Trustee and Staff Handbooks (policies and protocols), risk register, are uptodate and accessible via the website portal. Lead the administration process for the recruitment of trustees and staff, including the preparation of candidate packs, advertising, induction. Oversight of the EFA Partnership Agreements.

- Support the Chair of Educaton re liaison with relevant external auditors (safeguarding, health and safety, risk). Linking with Moroccan partners to agree on timing and arrangements for audit visits. Ensuring reports are available to trustees as agreed. 

- General ad hoc support to trustees, staff and external stakeholders as required.

• Proven knowledge of working with community organisations and signposting to different services. 

• Ability to advocate for the needs of those we work with.

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan.

The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team. 

Main Duties/Tasks:

You will be pivotal in assisting the Shop Manager in leading and empowering a team of volunteers to engage with the local community, maximising the contribution of gifts of time from volunteers, the gifts of products from our donors and the gift of income from our customers. You will be an ambassador of Alder Hey Children’s Charity on the high street.

Income generation

• Work with the Shop Manager to maximise sales and profits ensuring weekly targets are met.

• Support the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products.

• Work with the wider Charity team to promote and support fundraising activities and events.

Volunteers

• Support and management of a team of volunteers.

• Utilise volunteer skill sets and motivate them to deliver great customer service and perform tasks in-line with charity standards.

• Maximise the shop’s opening hours and ensure the shop is open and managed by the shop   team in the absence of the Shop Manager.

• Help to provide and support ongoing training and development for volunteers.

• Work and treat staff and stakeholders in accordance with the Charity’s values.

Health & Safety (in conjunction with Shop Manager)

• Ensure the shop adheres to Retail Health and Safety regulations.

• Ensure the Health and Safety of staff, volunteers, and customers.

• Help to ensure staff and volunteers are trained in manual handling.

Stock Control (in conjunction with Shop Manager)

• Ensure continuous, sufficient levels of high-quality stock.

• Be responsible for deliveries and stock controls.

• Ensure stock is appropriate to the business and priced accordingly.

• Maintain a rigorous process of stock rotation, ensuring rotation within expiry dates.

Customer Service

• Be professional, patient and have a ‘people-first’ approach to customer services.

The charity is currently conducting a four day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

About the role:

When someone sustains a spinal cord injury, it is a life changing experience.

Back Up’s Regional Outreach and Engagement team are the very face of the organisation and are based across the UK, working directly with spinal cord injury centres’, hospitals – or indeed anywhere that people affected by spinal cord injury may be.

As a Regional Coordinator, you will build relationships and take ownership for what happens in your geographical area. Whether it be providing peer support to newly injured people in a clinical setting, facilitating wheelchair skills sessions, making referrals for ongoing support or supporting volunteers and fundraisers – you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives.
