Job description

Charity People are delighted to be collaborating with the incredible and inspirational British Exploring Society to find a new Head of Development

British Exploring Society are a youth development charity with adventure at their heart coupled with an (lifelong) impact driven mind-set. They take young people to extraordinary destinations both literally and metaphorically.

They are seeking a new Head of Development to facilitate steady growth in income to enable us to unlock the potential in more young people’s lives. They have connections with some fantastic stakeholders and donors already and now need an expert relationship manager to foster and develop these relationships whilst identifying new networks. There is a newly recruited Development board and a committed and talented trustee board, all of whom you would be working very closely with.

Additionally, there is a realisation of the need for continued investment in the fundraising programme to be successful, coupled with a flexible working environment to support the new Head of Development to achieve the greatest possible results

If you are adventurous, ambitious and seeking a supportive environment where you can develop professionally whilst creating a strategy to identity and execute innovative ideas then we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking someone with outstanding (high value) relationship led Fundraising experience. If that sounds like you and you would like to hear more then please don’t hesitate to contact Nick Billingham at Charity People or click apply and if we think you may have the experience we are seeking we will be in touch with further information.

Based near South Kensington, in the offices of the Royal Geographical Society. This is a full time role though we are very open to considering different working patterns.

Closing date – November 14th.

We actively encourage people from ethnic minorities and LGBTQ+ Individuals to apply for this role. Charity People actively promotes equality, diversity and inclusion. We match charity needs with skills and experience of candidates, irrespective of age, disability (including hidden disabilities), race, religion or belief, gender, gender identity or gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, or sexual orientation.  We do this because we know greater diversity will lead to even greater results for the charities we work with.
