Southampton Hospitals Charity is looking for an organised and motivated Supporter Care Assistant to join our team. We are committed to excellent stewardship, so every supporter feels valued and confident that their gift is making a difference.
As the first point of contact for many of our donors, you will play an important part in delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.
In this role, you will look after our supporter care inbox, responding to a wide range of enquiries, from questions about donations to more sensitive concerns, with empathy, care and efficiency. You will also help to process incoming post, making sure donors receive the right thanks and acknowledgement for their support.
Working across our different income streams, you will help us deliver thoughtful, well-planned stewardship. You will use our CRM, to keep records accurate, up to date and compliant, ensuring preferences are recorded and that every supporter is looked after appropriately.
You will bring strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and experience of providing excellent customer support. This role is an important part of delivering our ambitious strategy to grow our income, reach and impact.

Main Responsibilities

Supporter care and administration

• Manage the supporter care inbox, responding to enquiries, feedback and complaints in a timely, professional and compassionate way.
• Process donations and supporter information accurately, following agreed procedures and ensuring acknowledgements are issued promptly.
• Maintain high-quality supporter records on the CRM, capturing key details and preferences and ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
• Support stewardship activity by preparing and sending thank-you communications and helping to deliver supporter journeys across in memory and legacy income streams.
• Process and thank donations received via post, sign posting to colleagues using our CRM when appropriate.
• Lead on the processing and thanking of campaign income as a result of our fundraising appeals and campaigns.
• Work closely with colleagues to resolve queries and continuously improve the supporter experience, identifying themes and suggesting practical improvements.

Supporter communications and relationship building

• Provide friendly, clear and consistent communication with supporters by email, telephone and post.
• Handle sensitive conversations with care, including bereavement-related enquiries and in-memory giving, signposting to colleagues where needed.
• Supporting the IMO and Legacy Manager to identify and fulfil key touch points in the supporters’ journey to enable donations and assist in providing communications as the need arises.

Teamwork and collaboration

• Work closely with colleagues across the charity to share information, resolve queries and ensure supporters receive a joined-up experience.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture by being approachable, dependable and willing to help where needed.

Supporter care compliance

• Support the accurate input and maintenance of supporter data, ensuring records are updated promptly and consistently.
• Follow data protection and fundraising compliance requirements, including recording consent and communication preferences.

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and highly organised individual with either registered healthcare status or an experienced commissioner of healthcare services and a passion for supporting people with long-term health conditions like ME.

As Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and development of our Healthcare Services. As our CQC Registered Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the team and assuring effective and safe services for people with ME of all ages and their families.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will also play a pivotal role in developing our services, drive performance and optimise processes, and enhance service delivery to take action with impact to better support individuals living with ME.

Job Purpose   

Working closely with the Director of Operations, the Clinical Lead will play a pivotal role in leading and developing Action for ME’s clinical Healthcare Services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for individuals affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). The postholder will be responsible for clinical oversight, service development, and leadership, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance outcomes for children and adults with ME and will be the CQC Registered Manager for the service.  

At present, Healthcare Services is a small team with two physiotherapists and one doctor (specialist GP), with plans to recruit more.

We are keen to develop and expand our services, building on the small amount of spot purchasing from local commissioning boards and exploring a diagnosing and prescribing offer. We are also keen to explore the potential of increasing the range of disciplines offered within the team. You will play a key role in contributing to, and delivering, the strategy for our Healthcare Services.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Provide clinical support and expertise to Action for ME's Healthcare Services, ensuring evidence-based, person-centred care.  
• Act as Registered Manager for CQC (Care Quality Commission) purposes and ensure that the service meets all required standards.   
• Lead the development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and best practices in line with national guidelines and regulatory requirements.  
• Supervise and support healthcare professionals within the service, offering guidance, mentorship, and training.  
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NHS services, researchers, and others, to enhance healthcare provision for people with ME.  
• Ensure the service complies with regulatory and safeguarding standards, including CQC requirements where applicable.  
• Monitor and evaluate service delivery, using data-driven insights to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.  
• Provide expert advice on complex cases, supporting the team with clinical decision-making.  
• Designated Safeguarding Officer for Healthcare Services.   
• Represent Action for ME at external forums, conferences, and policy discussions.   

Person specification
All criteria noted below are essential requirements of the role.

Qualifications

• A registered healthcare professional (e.g., doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist) with active professional registration (GMC, NMC, HCPC or equivalent) OR an experienced commissioner of healthcare services with experience of quality assurance, safeguarding and compliance. 

Experience and Knowledge

• Extensive clinical experience in chronic illness management OR sound understanding of clinical practice, ideally with expertise in ME or related conditions and a clear understanding of the challenges faced by people with ME.  
• An understanding of Care Quality Commission regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting, including team management and service development.  
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practice and clinical governance.  
• A sound understanding and experience of safeguarding children/young people and vulnerable adults.
• Experience in training and mentoring healthcare professionals.  
• Knowledge of NHS structures and commissioning processes.  
• An understanding of working within the third sector or charitable organisations.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Fundraising and supporter engagement

• Engage and support individuals, communities and local businesses to fundraise for Duchenne UK, providing outstanding stewardship and care throughout their journey.
• Recruit participants for both ‘run your own’ and third-party challenge events (runs, cycles, walks, skydives, etc.), developing long-term relationships with supporters – including families directly connected to the Duchenne community.
• Manage and grow Duchenne UK’s community fundraising programme, including in-memory giving, birthday fundraisers, and local community initiatives.
• Respond promptly to fundraising enquiries and proactively inspire new audiences to get involved.
• Project-manage a calendar of third-party challenge events, overseeing logistics, communications, and participant stewardship from sign-up through to completion.

Essential experience:

Lead Software Engineer - FTC

We are investing in a new website platform that will provide an improved user experience, be built and operated using modern Tech (e.g. React, headless CMS, CI/CD) and be a foundation for continued future optimisation. The website will unlock the ability to attract more users (via increased visibility on search engines and repeat visits) and increase the number of people donating online for a cure.

This role will be the senior technology team member on the new website project team, ensuring that the solution designed and delivered primarily by our website development partner is using modern approaches and tools. In addition, this person will actively take part in the development and test of the website platform and ultimately be the internal technical owner of the platform for ARUK.  

The post holder will report into the CIO but work day to day with the Digital Engagement team to deliver the new website platform.

This is a 24-month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as the internal technical owner of the new website platform, providing strong technical leadership, governance, and assurance across its design, build, and operation.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Strong professional experience as a senior software engineer / lead software engineer working on modern website or digital platforms.

· Ideally a full stack engineer with strong front-end skills (our main languages/ frameworks are React and Python/Django).

· Proven experience with modern front‑end and web architectures, including:

o React (or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks).

o Headless CMS and API‑driven architectures.

o CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.

· Experience acting as a technical owner or lead for an app or website.

· Experience working with modern code management tools e.g. github, bitbucket) and of version control/code branching approaches.

· Experience using AI tools to improve engineering efficiency e.g. Cursor, Claude code, github copilot.

· Knowledge of code build and deployment processes

· Solid understanding of cloud‑hosted, scalable, and secure web platforms, including performance, resilience, and security considerations.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

1. RELEVANT GENERAL OBJECTIVES

• To deliver and assist in the development of the Positive Futures project, with the overarching aim of using youth work and sport to engage ‘at-risk’ young people in order to identify and support their individual needs and steer them towards education, training and employment.
• To develop trusted professional relationships with young people to steer them to alternative positive outcomes through interventions, workshops and open access sport.
• This role will involve a mix of working in schools and in the community, both within the day and evenings to work with local young people.
• To support the Youth Intervention Manager to plan, organise and deliver a range of workshops, sports activities and community outreach programmes and events that work towards achieving all KPI targets set within the Rushcliffe Borough Council Service Level Agreement
• Act as a key contact point for referral partners to ensure regular updates on young people’s progress are shared.
• To undertake administrative duties including day to day management of:

o Activity registers.

o Provide regular monitoring and evaluation of delivery.

o Ensure all notes and timeline events are recorded per individual on Upshot.

o Regularly collect surveys that will assist in providing evidence for impact of delivery to funding partners.

o Gathering of ASDAN accreditation evidence to be submitted.

• To ensure all relevant Health & Safety and Child Protection/Safeguarding policies and legislation are adhered to.
• To support our young people within educational settings, specifically around behaviour interventions and working with those on the edge of exclusion, truanting and developing poor behaviour traits.
• Work in unison with the Youth Intervention Manager to identify new potential partnerships and to manage existing ones through partner delivery and meetings.
• Build aspirations, recognising poor behaviours, create schemes of work specific to each young person and signpost into further diversionary activities. 
• To support the reduction of youth crime and ASB within each of the three targeted areas in Rushcliffe (Cotgrave, East Leake and West Bridgford).
• To provide signposting and advocacy for young people and families needing to access other services.

· Work closely with the Safeguarding Manager to gain advice and report any safeguarding concerns relating to young people within the Positive Futures Programme. Support the review of a safeguarding reporting process.

2. SPECIFIC ROLE PROFILE

· Lead on the development of the Ambassadors programme delivery across all three target areas (West Bridgford, Cotgrave and East Leake), working towards:

o Designing and delivery of a leadership ASDAN accreditation

o Delivery of fundraising events with young leaders

o Delivery of community events with young leaders

o Work with Ambassadors to become a local voice for the project.

· Identify and establish partnership with local voluntary youth groups, leisure and sports clubs to support the Ambassador programme.

As Data Officer, you will support the Head of Finance and Operations across a range of important day-to-day tasks, with a particular focus on income reconciliation, accounting preparation, the maintenance of our Salesforce CRM database, as well as using the CRM to run reports.

You will take responsibility for keeping Save the Rhino's data clean, accurate, and audit-ready — carrying out regular imports, cleaning routines, and backups, and producing reports that help colleagues across fundraising and communications to do their jobs effectively.

Alongside this, you will contribute to key financial processes including Gift Aid claims, VAT returns, and monthly management accounts, developing a solid grounding in charity finance. For the right person, this combination of data and financial responsibilities offers an unusually broad grounding - ideal for someone early in their career who wants to develop skills across both disciplines rather than specialise immediately.

You will be methodical and detail-oriented, comfortable working with data and spreadsheets, and confident following established and documented procedures while flagging issues when you spot them. This is a new role for Save the Rhino, and it is one that might appeal to individuals with different experience and backgrounds. We are open to this role being full time (35 hours per week) or part time (28 hours per week). About This Vacancy

We are looking for a motivated and organised Project Officer to join our International Programmes Team on a fixed-term basis for one year, covering a period of maternity leave.

Overview

The Project Officer will be part of a regional team that works with new and existing partners to design, deliver and learn from projects in line with the organisation’s mission. The team supports the full project cycle: partner engagement, application review, due diligence, project design, contracting, implementation support, monitoring, evaluation and project closure, maintaining accurate records throughout, in close collaboration with the Quality Team (Director and Quality Assurance and Impact (MEAL) Specialists).

The Project Officer will work collaboratively across the regional team, providing flexible support and surge capacity during peak periods and responding to emerging priorities as required. Under the supervision of Programme Managers and the Regional Director, they will also take day-to-day responsibility for a portfolio of assigned partners and specific projects, ensuring timely progression from concept to completion and that documentation, compliance, quality assurance and learning requirements are met. This includes working with the Quality Team to integrate appropriate MEAL approaches, support data quality and ensure learning is captured and shared.

Key Responsibilities

·Project Identification and Evaluation

oIdentify and assess project concepts and proposals with assigned partners, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, feasibility, risk, safeguarding considerations and expected impact.

oContribute to emergency or rapid-response programming when required, including providing surge support to colleagues and helping to coordinate time-critical actions.

oSupport partner mapping and relationship management activities, helping to identify potential partners and project opportunities.

oUndertake contextual and partner due diligence research to inform project design, risk management and decision-making.

oPrepare high-quality proposals for internal review and project governance processes, including summaries of recommendations, risks and mitigation actions with the support of the Quality Team and in line with standards set by them.

·Grant Administration

oSupport Programme Managers and the Regional Director through the full project cycle, from initial scoping and proposal development through contracting, implementation support, monitoring, evaluation and closure.

oManage any individually assigned projects through the full project cycle, from initial scoping and proposal development through contracting, implementation support, monitoring, evaluation and closure.

oEnsure projects comply with organisational policies and procedures (including safeguarding and due diligence), and any relevant donor, statutory and partner requirements.

oEnsure the fulfilment of any actions mandated by the Programmes Subcommittee.

oTrack delivery against agreed plans, budgets and results frameworks; flag variances, support problem-solving with partners and colleagues, and recommend adjustments where needed.

oWork with the Quality Team (Director and Quality Assurance and Impact (MEAL) Specialists) to agree proportionate MEAL plans for assigned projects (e.g., indicators, data sources, reporting schedules), and to strengthen quality assurance throughout implementation.

·Stakeholder Engagement

oAct as a key point of contact for assigned partners, working closely with Programme Managers and the wider regional team to coordinate support and decision-making.

oMaintain regular communication with partners to provide guidance throughout proposal development and implementation, including on reporting requirements, procurement expectations and agreed outputs/outcomes.

oCoordinate with the Quality Team (Director and Quality Assurance and Impact (MEAL) Specialists) to support partner capacity strengthening on quality assurance and MEAL requirements, and to address quality or evidence gaps identified during implementation.

oDevelop familiarity with other organisations working in the Region and look for opportunities to collaborate with and learn from them.

·Budget Administration

oSupport sound financial management across the Regional Team and for assigned projects, including budget review, payment scheduling, verification of supporting documentation and reconciliation of expenditure against budgets.

oFor approved projects, ensure that all finance processes are completed to facilitate payments.

oPrepare clear updates and financial summaries for Programme Managers, the Regional Director and other internal stakeholders, maintaining an appropriate audit trail.

·Reporting and Documentation

oMaintain complete and accurate project documentation for assigned projects, including due diligence records, agreements, correspondence, partner reports and closure documents.

oMaintain project and partner information in relevant systems and trackers, producing reports and analysis as required.

oMonitor progress and results, review partner narrative and financial reports, support evaluations where appropriate, and ensure project learning is captured and shared within the team.

oWork with the Quality Team (Director and Quality Assurance and Impact (MEAL) Specialists) to review project evidence, ensure data quality standards are met, and support evaluations, reviews and learning products as required.

oCoordinate meetings and follow-up actions (including agendas, minutes and action logs) to ensure decisions are recorded and progressed.

Person Requirement

Essential

·Experience in project administration or coordination, ideally in the charity, NGO or public sector.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders across different cultures and contexts.

·Proficiency in MS Office suite and comfort using online systems for project tracking and document management.

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

After 8 successful years, our current Director will be retiring in 2026 and we are now seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and proactive individual to take up the reins.This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, respected national charity at an important moment of transition.

Strategic priorities for us, moving forward, include increasing our fundraising activities to ensure sustainability of the charity alongside the smooth running of our core activities in providing support, facilitating research and raising awareness.

Key responsibilities

The Executive Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities, working closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide effective leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, they will:

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, liaising with members, health professionals and with wider community and provide day-to-day management of Headlines staff and activities, setting objectives in line with the operational plan.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and other legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
• Work on behalf of and with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s mission, goals, operational plans and long-term strategy,  and act as a positive leader and role model, managing and motivating Headlines staff,
• Ensure effective financial management of Headlines working closely with trustees and the treasurer to ensure financial security and appropriate allocation of funds.
• Manage and enhance the event programme to meet charity objectives, including identifying and meeting members’ priorities and raising awareness of craniofacial conditions.
• Develop opportunities for collaborative working and partnerships with other organisations for the benefit of people with craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  This also includes work overseas, predominantly in Europe with our medical and charity partners.
• Oversee communications and marketing activities to raise the profile of Headlines, its work and the needs of its members.
• Identify opportunities for growth, developing projects and keeping policies relevant, to enhance and expand the work of Headlines.
• Be responsible for generating funds through innovative and cost-effective fundraising activities and grant applications to maintain the long-term success of the charity.

Person specification 

Essential criteria

• An understanding of the importance of the charity’s values and priorities.

• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with experience organising events and activities.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets and developing new and sustainable funding streams.

• A high level of digital literacy skills with an understanding of online technology and the application of social media.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. All Headlines staff are expected to work flexibly to support those activities as required, e.g. attendance at Annual Family Weekend, conferences, member events, supporter receptions and other related scientific meetings and conferences. This may occasionally require travel and overnight stays. In addition, all staff are expected to be self-servicing in terms of administration and basic digital skills. • Developing an excellent working understanding of GDPR and other such regulations, ensuring Kids Matter complies in how data is both collected and stored.
• Helping develop a structured and sustainable individual giving programme (both one-off and regular)

Duet Health Foundation is starting with significant funding and access to external resources to support our initial campaigns which will include;

- Addressing significant safety issues related to certain commonly used medicines, gathering data on adverse events and deaths in order to campaign for ways to mitigate this.

- Raising awareness of rare diseases which are being missed. These can significantly affect sufferers’ lives, and while they may be relatively easy to diagnose and treat, are often simply not recognised by primary healthcare providers.

We are seeking our first employee—a visionary Director of Operations—to build our operational infrastructure from the ground up and turn our strategic vision into a highly impactful reality.

The Role

As our first hire, you will be a key part of the operational architecture of the charity. Working closely with the Founders, you will help transition the organisation from a newly approved legal entity into a fully functional, compliant, and active campaigning force. This is not a role for someone who just wants to manage existing systems; it is for a builder who also wants to create them.

The Director of Operations is a pivotal senior leadership role within the organisation, responsible for creating the operational backbone of the organisation. This role ensures that the organisation’s systems, people, suppliers and processes operate smoothly, safely and compliantly, enabling high-quality delivery. The Director of Operations will provide strong day-to-day operational leadership and discipline, freeing the Founders to focus on strategy, partnerships and organisational growth. The postholder will be highly organised, practical and accountable, with a strong focus on implementation and follow‑through.

To apply for this role, you will need to have significant operational management experience in a charity or similar environment. You will have demonstrable experience of managing complex operational systems and will have proven experience of workforce planning, operational delivery and implementing organisational change. Overall, you will be practical, organised and solutions-focused, with the confidence to work across teams and with trustees, suppliers and external partners.

• Operational Blueprinting: Design, implement, and oversee all required documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), financial controls, and risk management systems.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure total alignment with Charity Commission regulations, particularly the CC9 guidelines regarding political and health campaigning.
• Information Governance: Establish secure data sharing, privacy frameworks, and GDPR structures for future collection of sensitive patient and clinical data.
• Strategic Scaling: Manage third-party vendors (legal, IT, Associate contractors etc) and eventually support building the infrastructure for future recruitment.

About You

• Experienced: You have at least 5 years’ experience of operational management within the UK charity sector of the NHS, the pharmaceutical industry, or healthcare regulation (e.g., MHRA, NICE).
• A "Builder": You thrive on both teamwork and autonomy. You have a proven track record of setting up systems, policies, and teams from scratch.
• Governance Savvy: You have a solid understanding of UK charity law, compliance, and financial frameworks.
