About the Role
Headway East London is looking for a creative and values-driven Communications Officer to support and develop the voice of Headway East London – working with our community of brain injury survivors, volunteers, and staff to co-produce content that shares our stories, increases awareness and broadens our reach.
You’ll play a central role in promoting our services, supporting income generation, and amplifying the voices of our members through a range of marketing and communications activity. You’ll balance digital know-how with a collaborative approach, developing accessible, engaging content across channels including our website, social media, e- newsletters, and print materials.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications Delivery
- Deliver and support the implementation of our communications and marketing strategy across all channels (digital and print).
- Support a regular calendar of activity across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, BlueSky, YouTube) to maintain and grow a network of online supporters.
- Support on maintaining and developing content for the Headway East London website (using WordPress and Elementor), including blog posts, service pages and events.
- Create engaging, relevant and accessible content including copy, video, photography, audio and graphics (using Canva), in line with brand guidelines and accessibility principles.
- Co-ordinate monthly e-newsletters and other communications using Mailchimp to a variety of audiences.
Community & Co-Production
- Work with our members(services users - people with brain injury),volunteers and staff to co-create content that reflects their voices and experiences.
- Ensure accessibility is embedded in all communications, including use of plain English, inclusive visuals, and a variety of formats.
- Engage the wider Headway East London community in developing campaigns, storytelling, and communications planning.
Campaigns, Partnerships & Income Generation
- Support fundraising and development teams to plan and deliver digital campaigns that increase donations, engagement and awareness.
- Explore opportunities for brand development, partnerships and earned media that align with our values and strategic priorities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with local and national media outlets and stakeholders.
Internal Communications
- Support internal communication needs across the organisation, helping teams stay informed and connected across multiple sites.
- Help develop internal resources and templates that enable teams to produce consistent, values-led communications.

We're recruiting a New Partnerships Manager to be responsible for proactively identifying, prospecting, and cultivating leads in key sectors to secure new 5-6 figure, multi-year corporate partnerships with local and national businesses.
What does this role do?
As New Partnerships Manager, you'll:
- develop a prospect pipeline to raise a personal income target which contributes to an overall team target,
- support the Senior New Partnerships Manager in the identification and cultivation of new corporate partnerships, accessing a range of income streams and budget holders,
- support senior team members in attending meetings with potential corporate partners, including preparing relevant briefs in advance,
- prepare relevant and creative applications and proposals for pitches for potential corporate partners,
- work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Team to ensure the transition between new business and account management is seamless for both Dogs Trust and the new partner.

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.
We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands. We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Our Mission Rabies project runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Last year, WVS helped an animal every 14 seconds. We trained over 4,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,700 parcels of veterinary supplies to 261 charities in 71 countries.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with the wider Marketing team, devise, plan and lead the execution of fundraising appeals to meet agreed targets, growing voluntary income from both cold and warm audiences.
- Grow one-off and regular giving income, identifying opportunities for acquisition and long-term donor development.
- Build on existing programmes to create outstanding donor care programmes to increase long-term support.
- Manage the Fundraising and Admin Assistant, who will support you in developing campaigns and communicating with supporters.
- Attend networking and other events to raise both charity’s profiles and meet agreed targets.
- Promote compliance with GDPR, fundraising regulations, and best practice in supporter care.
- Some evening and weekend working, to include travel, will likely be required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a comparable role – ideally focused on individual giving.
- Working knowledge of regulations including GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Experience of using charity CRM systems
- Excellent copy writing and communication skills
- A passion for animal welfare
- A strong team player
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends occasionally when the charity requires.

Overall Job Purpose

Main responsibilities
Grant Management & Compliance
- Oversee the delivery of the charity’s dedicated grant programmes from pre to post award: Patient Care, Research & Development, Clinical Innovation and Staff Education & Improvement. The post holder will be responsible for circa £2.5M expenditure per annum ensuring they deliver impact for patients, staff and donors (grant values typically range from £2K to <£0.5M).
- Oversee the management of the charity's current grant portfolio; ensuring grants are delivered on time and in accordance with internal processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial obligations (inc. payments, reconciliations and audits) and regulatory obligations (inc. data management, grant award contracts, procurement).
- Ensure grant making processes reflects and champion current best practice.
- Develop and implement a Grants Advisory Committee.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Build relationships with key stakeholders within University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust (UHS), including senior health professionals, executive team members, partners and beneficiaries.
- Work to embed the grants programmes within the hospital environment and work with UHS staff to support them in access funding through working within the hospital and regular visits to clinical areas.
- Act as primary liaison for the Charity’s grant making responsibilities, ensuring alignment with charitable objectives and 2024-2027 strategic mission
- Provide support to Director of Operations and Resources and the Senior Leadership Team, fostering a collaborative approach to grant programme delivery in tandem with fundraising, communication and art programme goals.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, attending hospital site visits, events and other external facing activities as required.
- Implement hybrid applicant and grantee support functions (e.g. webinars, Q&A events, promotional events, annual learning events).
Strategic Planning & Funding Prioritisation
- Lead the development of the Charity’s grant-making function, working with internal and external stakeholders in identifying key funding priorities that align with the Charity’s mission and future goals.
- Develop strategies for allocating resources effectively and the ongoing review of grant programmes (aiming for continual improvement).
- Develop strategies for working in partnership with UHS for joint decision making, the effective management of capital awards and high value grant requests.
- Identify new grant opportunities and potential partnerships to diversify funding streams.
- Maximise grant impact by contributing to the business planning process.
Evaluation, Reporting & Impact
- Oversee processes for effective grant monitoring, reporting and analysis of grants portfolio.
- Develop and implement an evaluation framework for the charity’s grants programme, ensuring this is embedded and linked to organisation wide reporting mechanisms and measurable outcomes are achieved.
- Use data and insights to inform the continuous improvement of grant-making practices and programme development.
- Utilise information captured to promote grant programmes and support Fundraising and Communications Directorate.
- Support the Grants and Impact Officer.
General
- Support the line management and continuing professional development of the grants team.
- Ensure content and material is in line with Directorate of Fundraising and Communications for marketing, publications, website and social media responsibilities.
- Support the wider work of the organisation, contributing to all staff events/meetings as required.
- Support the Director of Operations and Resources in the preparation of necessary Trustee reports, annual reports and impact reports.

Knowledge and experience
- Substantial experience in grants management, within a relevant not-for-profit setting (e.g. healthcare charity). Post holder must be proficient with pre and post award responsibilities including assessment.

About the role
We’re seeking a Direct Marketing and Acquisition Officer to join our high-performing fundraising team.
2025 was our best year yet for income and this role is pivotal in helping us to take the next step in growing our supporter base and future income.
This new role will be responsible for planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns to recruit regular donors, using data-led insights, audience segmentation, and performance tracking to optimise activity across digital, direct mail, telemarketing, and face-to-face channels.
The role will also focus on growing our lottery programme, converting new players into regular supporters, and developing retention strategies that maximise long-term commitment and lifetime value.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver effective multi-channel acquisition campaigns across digital and offline channels.
- Lead and grow our lottery programme, managing promotional campaigns, partner relationships, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement supporter retention strategies to engage both new and existing supporters.
- Work with the Digital Engagement and Communications team to create engaging content and calls to action.
- Analyse campaign performance and supporter data to optimise acquisition strategies.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, GDPR, and marketing standards.
- Build strong relationships with supporters, agencies, and partners.
At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts can expect to work a minimum of 40% at our office in Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week, normally on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees. The expectation to collaborate face-to-face is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy
About you
We’re looking for an ambitious and energetic fundraiser who is:
- Experienced in supporter acquisition, marketing, or fundraising, with proven success in direct marketing campaigns.
- Skilled in direct marketing, campaign planning, and copywriting.
- Confident in interpreting data and translating insights into action.
- Familiar with CRM systems and digital tools (e.g. email platforms, social media ads).
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to tight deadlines.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience with Click Dimensions, Dataro, Microsoft Dynamics, and knowledge of fundraising regulations would be a bonus!

We are seeking an experienced communications lead to join our external engagement team and play a key role in shaping Martingale’s external profile and scholar recruitment.
As Communications Manager, you will lead on several critical aspects of Martingale’s work including all external communications from social media to PR, and brand management. Crucially, you will lead on the annual recruitment campaign for Martingale’s Postgraduate Scholarships. This three-month campaign each autumn is a fundamental part of Martingales work, ensuring we are finding and supporting as many talented people to apply as possible. Working closely with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on all Martingale’s external communications.

Working with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on the design and implementation of end-to-end marketing for the recruitment campaign for Martingale Scholars:
- Ensure widespread marketing of the Martingale Scholarship opportunity across the UK, including in media (e.g., student newspapers), on university campuses and on graduate job boards.
- Coordinate an effective paid advertising campaign across multiple channels.
- Directly engage prospective scholars to increase interest and convince them to apply for Martingale opportunities. For example, leading email campaigns, visiting university campuses, or hosting webinars.
- Build relationships with university academics, careers departments, student societies, graduate careers platforms, and other organisations who work with Martingale’s target audience. Encourage them to share Martingale opportunities to relevant people.
- Develop marketing materials and coordinate circulation: leaflets, brochures, social media content, video, email and newsletters, case studies and interviews with relevant people incl. current scholars.
- Procure and coordinate any relevant external providers: e.g., paid digital advertising agencies.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System, embed and manage a CRM system for enrolled scholars.
Manage brand and increase brand awareness:
- Manage and develop Martingale Foundation’s brand identity, and the identity of our programmes: visual identity, communication style, digital presence, in-person style and feel of events.
- Design and manage a creative and innovative social media campaign across multiple channels, incl. paid ads.
- Manage the website, including maintenance, development, and SEO – with agency support.
- Lead engagement with media outlets and relevant press, including student newspapers. Write engaging press releases and generate interest in Martingale.
- Develop innovative opportunities to grow Martingale’s brand awareness including opportunities for you or the CEO to showcase Martingale’s work.
Stakeholder management and communications:
- Produce and coordinate engaging communications and events for scholars and applicants, alongside the Programme’s team.
- Manage relationships with partner universities Marketing and External Relations teams, ensuring they are consulted and pleased with progress, while also delivering on their commitments.
- Develop collaborative relationships with charity partners or organisations with similar missions to Martingale, as well as potential employers of Martingale Scholars, and ensure they are aware of Martingale’s mission and progress whilst supporting recruitment and brand building efforts.
- Build productive relationships with funders relevant communications teams.
Organisation and team:
- Line manage the Events and Communications Officer, ensuring they are supported, clear on responsibilities and how they fit into the wider strategy of Martingale.
- Work across all departments in the organisation, ensuring that staff are supported to produce communications and that all Martingale’s work is being promoted effectively.
Monitor and report on the progress of the Martingale Foundation:
- Lead the production of impact reports.
- Collect and analyse data from applications, and annually review and refine the Martingale Scholarship’s recruitment campaign to make appropriate adjustments in future years.
- Assess, evidence and communicate the impact of the Martingale Foundation Scholarship in innovative ways.

• Confident using WordPress, social media platforms, Canva, Mailchimp, fundraising platforms and Beacon CRM.
• Proven experience delivering successful digital campaigns that drive engagement and income.
• Strong content creation skills across written, visual and video formats.
• Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills.
• Comfortable working independently within a small team.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to improve performance.
• Ability to travel to Huddersfield for in-person team days (2 per month).
