About the role

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring CFFC continues to grow its impact, strengthen partnerships and inspire philanthropy across Calderdale.

You will lead and develop a committed staff team, work closely with Trustees, build trusted relationships with donors, businesses, professional advisers, charities and public sector partners, and ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, well-governed and ambitious for the future.

You will also act as CFFC’s public ambassador, representing the organisation across Calderdale and beyond, while championing the importance of local giving and community investment.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Team: Delivery/ NCN (National Cycle Network) 

As a Network Planning Officer, you will provide planning evidence and coordination support for the Network Development Plan (NDP) in England. Working as part of the National Cycle Network (NCN) team, you will support externally funded feasibility studies and help gather and validate evidence for NDP routes and corridors. You will also help manage enquiries about the National Cycle Network, ensuring they are directed and responded to appropriately. 

The role involves collecting, checking and analysing data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and supporting effective decision-making. You will help ensure that investments funded by external partners are recorded accurately, tracked appropriately, and progressed in line with project requirements. Through your work, you will contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the National Cycle Network.

• Bringing together information from maps, plans, data, reports and local knowledge to help shape early-stage walking, wheeling and cycling projects.

We are looking for a Head of Finance and Income Operations to lead NFFN’s finance function and help strengthen the systems, controls and reporting that will support the organisation’s next stage of growth.

This is a senior leadership role at the heart of a small, ambitious and mission-led organisation. You will oversee day-to-day financial management, budgeting, management accounts, restricted funds, funder reporting and income operations. You will also help improve how finance works across NFFN, giving budget holders clearer information and helping the organisation make confident, well-informed decisions.

The role is about more than keeping the numbers moving. We are looking for someone who can help build a stronger finance function, improve internal systems, support funder confidence, and help NFFN manage a more complex mix of grants, donations, restricted funding and revenue-based delivery work.

Depending on your background, this may suit someone with strong charity finance experience, or someone from a finance, grants, funding operations or mission-led commercial background who wants to use their skills in a values-led organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• leading day-to-day financial management, controls and reporting

• preparing budgets, forecasts, management accounts and financial updates

• supporting budget holders with clear, practical financial information

• improving finance systems, processes, approvals and reporting tools

About the role

We are looking for a Press Office Assistant to help us make, break and react to some of the biggest science stories in the national news. This is an office-based role in a fast-moving, open-plan team based in the Wellcome Collection building.

The Press Office Assistant will take responsibility for the logistics of this busy press office.  They will help the press officers to efficiently run multiple press briefings a week, monitor the media for controversial stories about science, and help to evaluate the impact of the SMC’s work.  This is not a Press Officer role, but everything you do will be aimed at supporting the SMC team at the SMC to ensure the news media get access to accurate, evidenced-based science when science is in the headlines.

This is an exciting time to join Kalayaan in an operational and administrative role, with a range of operational change projects underway, a new database being rolled out, office redecoration about to start, and a new website ready for launch in July.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will help shape the strategic direction and future growth of TCVS, working closely with the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees and senior colleagues to deliver our organisational ambitions.

You will:

• Provide strategic leadership across all corporate services, including HR, Finance, IT, Facilities, Health & Safety, Compliance, Administration and Organisational Systems.
• Ensure operational systems, policies and processes are efficient, compliant, scalable and support organisational excellence.
• Lead organisational development, workforce planning and continuous improvement, fostering a high-performing, inclusive and values-led culture.
• Oversee governance, risk management, business continuity and regulatory compliance, supporting the Board to deliver effective governance.
• Monitor organisational performance, ensuring delivery against strategic priorities and organisational objectives.
• Drive digital transformation and innovation, embedding technology and systems that improve efficiency, data quality and organisational learning.
• Support the long-term financial sustainability of TCVS by developing earned income opportunities, partnerships and trading activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trustees, partners, funders, tenants and key stakeholders, representing TCVS across Thurrock and South West Essex.
• Contribute to organisational resilience, growth and future expansion through effective leadership, planning and decision-making.
• Deputise for the Chief Executive as required and provide leadership across the organisation.

You will also champion equality, diversity and inclusion, promote staff wellbeing and professional development, participate in the on-call rota, and undertake other responsibilities appropriate to this senior leadership role.
