Unpaid carers are the unsung heroes in our communities, supporting relatives, friends, and neighbours, often with limited or no support, to live the best lives they can.
Carers Centre Tower Hamlets (CCTH) is a small, committed organisation dedicated to supporting unpaid carers through a variety of specialist services, from social and therapeutic activities to emotional, mentoring, advocacy, and signposting support. We aim to enrich and empower unpaid carers’ lives, providing them with the support they so selflessly give to others. We are now recruiting to our team someone who will lead on our work to support Carers as part of the Barnsley Street Mental Health Project.
Project Overview:
The Barnsley Street Project is a Community Mental Health Pilot aimed at delivering continuous, person-centred mental health care to underserved populations in PCN1 (Bethnal Green). This initiative is a collaborative effort between East London Foundation Trust (ELFT), Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance (THMHA), and the Look Ahead Housing Association. Driven by the voice of lived experience, the project is designed to address the systemic gaps in mental health services, particularly for marginalised communities.
Purpose of the role:
To identify and coordinate an effective support service for unpaid carers who support residents who access the Barnsley Street Project, with the aim of supporting carers to have their needs met as well as develop a healthy and sustainable caring role.
To facilitate access for unpaid carers in the Barnsley Street Project to appropriate support services, both statutory and voluntary. To provide comprehensive support and information to families and carers. To raise awareness of carers’ needs with professionals in the project environment and contribute to carer friendly policies.
The post will involve the direct provision of services, referral to and between services, collaborative work with other local agencies and outreach work. The post-holder will provide advocacy, referral, and ongoing practical and emotional support to unpaid carers through individual and group work.
Responsibilities:

Identification and Support: Proactively identify carers of residents who utilise the Barnsley Street Project, and provide them with tailored support, ensuring their well-being is prioritised.

Information and Guidance: Offer information about available resources, support services, and community networks to assist carers effectively.

Communication Liaison: Facilitate communication between clinical staff and carers, ensuring they are kept informed about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and any discharge process.

Emotional Support: Provide compassionate emotional support to carers, listening to their concerns and offering a caring presence during difficult times.

Training and Education: Organise workshops and peer support groups to equip carers with essential skills for their caregiving role.

Advocacy: Advocate for carers' needs and rights within the setting, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Requirements:

Previous experience in an advice or support role within a mental health or healthcare environment is preferred.

Job Title: Director of Fundraising

Job Summary
To drive development of CEM’s fundraising strategy and oversee its implementation. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Identifying the most fruitful new avenues of funding from a range of Christian cultures, including individual donors, trusts and grant-making bodies
- Identifying new fundraising methods, including digital campaigns and social media outreach, to broaden and diversify our donor base
- Strengthen connections with new networks to tap into underutilised funding streams.
- Running appeals and legacy campaigns
- Creating clear briefing materials for comms staff and senior teams to help them engage with donors at all levels — from small ad hoc donations to our largest grant-making partners. Ensuring that appropriate tailored approaches are used for different cultures and church traditions
- Co-manage the Communications Officer to produce emails, newsletters and other communications assets which effectively engage potential donors
- Work closely with our founder, Rico Tice, and our CEO, to help the CEM team grow supporter donations
- Seek out and develop relationships with new high-capacity donors
- Tell the global story of CEM’s impact to inspire and mobilise a broader, more diverse donor community
Key duties and responsibilities
- Be accountable for increasing funding to CEM by an agreed amount each year.
- Create a clear and effective fundraising strategy and communicate it well to the rest of the CEM team.
- Bring experience and best practice to CEM’s fundraising efforts, to help us build a culture of fundraising.
- Future-proof the organisation to build the foundation for secure long-term funding
- Oversee implementation of the fundraising strategy, including briefing comms staff and reviewing materials before they’re released.
- Support global hub Directors to develop sustainable in-country fundraising strategies, and be responsible for coordinating global fundraising efforts to ensure that all teams are working collaboratively.
Person specification
The Director of Fundraising will need to demonstrate a track record of success in increasing organisational funding — this is not a skillset CEM currently has and we will be relying on the successful candidate to bring a robust knowledge of best practice. We are looking for a strategic thinker who will bring clarity and simplicity to our fundraising efforts, targeting donors wisely and treating them with respect.
CEM is a very relational organisation which operates with a high level of consensus. Main duties and responsibilities
Communications (30% of work)
- Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
- Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
- Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.
Event planning (30% of work)
- Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.

One in two people don’t have a Christian friend to invite them to church, open a Bible with them, or tell them the good news of Jesus. We want to see that change. The poor areas of London are incredibly diverse, in fact London is the most ethnically diverse in the world, growing at over 100,000 people a year. The world has come to London – we long to see the Gospel taken to the world by working alongside churches to visit homes and go out into the streets of London with the good news of the Gospel.
We are praying for a talented Director of Fundraising and Supporter Partnerships to join our Leadership Team. You will be inheriting a skilled and diverse team raising income from individuals, legacies, trusts and foundations, corporates and major donors with the support from a new CRM system, to fulfil your responsibilities.
- Salary: £73,000 depending on experience + 13.8% employer contribution to pension, 30 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and 3 days ex-gracia during Christmas and New year + other benefits.
- Location: London City Mission will carefully consider flexible working patterns where possible, though at least 2 days a week presence at Nasmith House, 175 Tower Bridge Road will be necessary.

About the role

Position: Group and Communities Officer (known as Group Network & Communities Officer)
Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work related meetings).

The Role
You will drive the continuous improvement and impact of the UK-wide Stroke Group Network and community-based offers by cultivating strong relationships with volunteers and groups, working alongside groups and communities, and translating insights into targeted improvements that strengthen support for stroke survivors nationwide.
Group Network & Communities team lead the approach to supporting people affected by stroke to engage with a range of support within communities they identify with and support and empower a vast network of volunteers, a dynamic and inclusive community of over 400 stroke support groups nationwide.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure community-based offers provide the best possible customer experience with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion, aligned to Solving Inequity in Stroke approach.
- Drive forward a culture of coaching, shared learning, peer support and collaboration as a way of working.
- Work across teams and Directorates to ensure a joined-up approach to community engagement and development, including the delivery of cross-directorate spaces that facilitate shared learning, leading relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.
About You
You will have a proven record of:
- Experience of working with volunteers, including the ability to coordinate, organise and deliver volunteer engagement events at scale or digitally
- Ability to take time to understand the context of our communities and groups, being approachable, and supporting thinking - always having people affected by stroke at the centre.
- Strong administration skills, with ability to develop and deliver effective processes.
- Ability to identify problems or opportunities where we can have more impact or add value for people affected by stroke, working with others to experiment and learn.

About the Role
We are looking to hire a skilled and engaging Senior Education Officer to join a busy team, to further develop and implement an educational outreach programme which reaches children in Wales, Scotland and England. At present, this post has funding for three years from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, one year of which is now complete and we are looking to deliver the second two years of the project.
The purpose of the role is to extend the passion and knowledge of beavers into communities around Britain, to engage and enthuse young people and to reconnect (or reinforce) their love of nature. Using current materials and resources you will do so by delivering high-quality learning sessions within schools, community groups or virtual training sessions, sometimes delivered in conjunction with our beaver site partners and their education teams.
You will also be responsible for developing further aspects of the programme according to the requirements for each country and in partnership with relevant organisations
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver a range of exciting, curriculum-linked workshops, talks, school and group sessions associated with beaver release sites.
- Network and build contacts and relationships with key personnel in schools, youth groups and community groups in order to create engagement with the education programme and expand its reach.
- Develop further resources and engaging activities or projects for group learning.
- Deliver standard level beaver ecology training to a range of age groups.
- Ensure the education programmes are up-to-date, accurate and complement the wider delivery of our mission.

About Aspens
Aspens is a charity that provides high-quality person-centred care and support to individuals on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities, and their families. We provide an integrated network of services and support across the South-East to empower individuals to lead their lives as independently as possible.
We support children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Our services include registered care homes, supported living, community outreach, day services, children and young people’s groups and support, specialist support, and online support for families and carers across the South-East.
Aspens has three charity shops in Bexhill, Crowborough and Paddock Wood and online stores on eBay, Etsy and Vinted. We also have The Bluebell Café and animal farm and a pre-loved donations centre in Pembury.
Purpose of Role
This role will work with direction from the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver marketing campaigns to raise awareness of and promote Aspens’ services, income-generation activities including fundraising, retail and hospitality, and recruitment; engage with our internal and external stakeholders; and reach new audiences. A key part of the role will be internal ‘customer’ support, collaborating with departments across the charity to meet shared goals in line with Aspens’ strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign delivery
· Collaborate with the operations, fundraising, retail and recruitment teams to create and deliver comprehensive marketing campaigns to promote Aspens’ services, shops/e-commerce, hospitality, events and recruitment and meet shared goals in line with the charity’s strategic objectives.
· Create and deliver internal comms campaigns to drive engagement and increase retention of staff.

Content Creation

Headway Gloucestershire was established in 1988 and since then has been working to make a positive difference to the lives of people with an acquired brain injury. We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre-based Enablement Service and outreach support through our Community Links service.

Our centre-based Enablement Service is the heart of Headway Gloucestershire. Open every weekday, we offer activities that focus on the five elements of rehabilitation: emotional functioning; cognitive functioning; learning; social interaction and behaviour. Our Community Links Service offers outreach advice and support for people with an acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire and is often the first point of contact.

About The Role
The People & Recruitment Officer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day People activities, including being the first point of contact for queries and advice. You will also lead on recruitment throughout the organisation, ensuring that the organisation has the right people in the right roles to drive its success and growth. The officer will collaborate closely with hiring managers and other members of the People team to develop effective recruitment strategies, foster a positive candidate experience, and contribute to the overall employee lifecycle management.
