Shrewsbury is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual into the newly created position of Deputy Director of Development. The new Deputy will join at an exciting time of investment in the team, in response to a recent step change in philanthropic income to the School. This role will work closely with the Director of Development in delivering further upwards momentum in one of the longest established and successful Development Offices in the UK schools’ sector.

The Deputy Director of Development is a senior role which is both broad and varied, and will support development activity at all levels. The postholder will manage a dynamic caseload of middle and higher range prospects; will drive a programme of alumni engagement, planned and regular giving activities, initiatives and stewardship; and lead on the management of the development activity across the Prep schools within the Shrewsbury Family of Schools. The successful candidate will join the celebration of 60 years of fundraising success; contribute to a mature, research and data focussed, sector-leading and successful Development Office; and be part of delivering the next ambitions of the School by strategically creating and converting engagement to grow our enduring culture of philanthropy.

The postholder will bring a proven track record of securing major gifts, together with an unwavering commitment to ethical, professional and long-term relationship-based fundraising. This will therefore suit a highly motivated, articulate and ambitious fundraiser seeking to grow their career towards senior leadership.
