Purpose of role

As the Program Manager, Media and Communications, you will support the Program Director on the design, development and implementation of communication strategies and plans to advance Humane World for Animals UK’s strategic priorities with regard to campaigns, brand-building and fundraising. You will lead on producing and delivering a content strategy for a broad range of channels to increase audience engagement. The position will support campaigns and fundraising stewardship and give strategic advice regarding social media market insights and trends in the UK digital sphere and emerging channels. This will be vital to achieve successful brand building in the UK market through impactful storytelling, campaign activations, fundraising recruitment and stewardship through compelling content on the earned channels and holistic management of thematic work.

Key areas of responsibility

• Communications strategy and planning:Lead the development and delivery of storytelling and social media strategies to support the UK’s wider communications strategy.Guide public affairs, campaigns, and fundraising colleagues in ideation sessions to develop creative and impactful activations.Provide insights on digital communications trends and opportunities.
• Content creation and storytelling:Produce high-quality digital content, including video, for use on social and digital channels.Turn campaign and policy work into clear, engaging stories.Collaborate with Head Office to integrate global storytelling content.
• Social media:  Plan, schedule and manage day-to-day (and occasional out-of-hours) social media activity, engaging online communities, managing paid social media advertising and delivering campaigns that support advocacy, fundraising and recruitment. Maintain the visual asset library and manage a social media volunteer.
• Influencer and partnership engagement:Identify and recruit influencers and celebrities to extend our reach and support our campaigns
• Administration: Monitor and report on performance using tools like Google Analytics and social monitoring platforms to guide continual improvement.Coordinate activities with colleagues using planning platforms.

You will have experience of delivering media and communication strategies and plans in a fast-paced environment. You will have ambition and drive for creating positive change for animal welfare; a willingness to constantly learn and develop the most impactful, cost-effective communications for our target audiences; and your work will be solidly underpinned by regular evaluation of progress and impact with a view to further improving strategies.

The Programmes Officer will play an integral part in the Employability team to help deliver on these initiatives and the long-term aims of the organisation. This role will primarily support the delivery of Pathways Online and Access Apprenticeships (delivered both online and in person), currently covering the Law, Banking & Finance and Engineering sectors. The officer will support programmes in 2 of the 3 sectors highlighted.

This role will sit within the Employability team, which is a subdivision of the Programmes team, led by the Head of Employability. The role will be line managed by the Employability Programmes Manager.

Main duties

• Onboarding of new cohorts of students for our Pathways Online and Access Apprenticeships Programmes

• Delivering both online and in-person events for students across the programmes. Duties include presenting activities, organising logistics, providing technical support, and encouraging student engagement

• Be the main point of contact for students on the programme. Including leading on student comms (newsletter and info packs), responding to student enquiries and building relationships with beneficiaries to ensure that we are provide tailored and impactful support.

• Using student data to monitor engagement and develop strategies to enhance engagement and participation

• Maintaining and updating the Trust's CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure accurate beneficiary details and activity records.

• Arranging and booking of student travel for in person events and work experience placements

• Use our online platform (Sutton Trust Online) to drive student engagement through creating and updating content

• Liaising with external stakeholders such as universities and employers to support logistical and administrative elements of programme delivery

• Supporting on the creation of reports for funders and programme partners based on student engagement and feedback data

• Providing administrative support to the Sutton Trust team as required across our suite of employability programmes

• Responding to student facing inboxes and the Sutton Trust Helpdesk and phoneline to support with enquiries across the programmes team

• Actively working to foster a positive safeguarding culture within all aspects of work

• Other duties as necessary from time to time.

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Programme organisation and delivery, including planning, administration and logistics

• Delivering engaging events for young people, ideally including presentation or facilitation skills

• Providing guidance and support to beneficiaries on an ongoing basis

• Writing impactful copy for communications such as newsletters and/or digital content

• Managing data with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce);

• Working within or an understanding of the not for profit sector and/or the higher education sectors;

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is an independent social change organisation, working to support and speed up the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty, where people and planet can flourish. Our Emerging Futures programme, established in 2022, has 3 aims:

Now in the second year of a five‑year, £45 million commitment approved by our Trustees, Emerging Futures is continuing to develop programmes across place‑based work in York and the North East, transformative wealth practices, and regenerative futures.

We are building a new Conditions and Capacities team, which this role will be a key part of – a growing, collaborative team dedicated to ensuring we have the organisational conditions and individual and collective capabilities needed for this work - including team stewarding, learning and knowledge infrastructure, storytelling and programme management systems.

About the role

We are looking for a Programme and Partnerships Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of programme and partnership management systems across all Emerging Futures programmes, ensuring our programme and partnership management systems reflect our commitment to centering equity, power and justice in our work.

In this role, you will assist programme teams in tracking progress, monitoring budgets and gathering information to enable seamless delivery. Working closely with the Programme and Partnerships Lead and the Core team, you will help develop and implement programme and partnership management systems, while collaborating with the Procurement and Finance teams to maintain strong relationships throughout contracting processes.

You will also manage the administrative aspects of commissioning and contracting, ensuring information is provided on time and that partners experience a smooth and efficient process. A key part of the role is managing programme information within Emerging Futures and the wider JRF, working alongside other members of the conditions and capacities team to capture insights and share and embed learning across knowledge systems.

Additionally, you will gather and analyse data about our partners, sharing insights across the team, and scan emerging ideas and practices in programme operations. By identifying opportunities for Emerging Futures to pilot and learn from innovative approaches, you will help the programme remain at the forefront of programme management practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management tools and techniques and be able to apply anti-oppressive principles and practices to the design and development of operational systems. You will have experience supporting the delivery of complex projects in fast-changing contexts, alongside a proven track record of successfully managing relationships with external stakeholders who have diverse expertise and needs. Equally, you will be adept at building positive, collaborative relationships across internal teams with different priorities and ways of working.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential with a good level of numeracy to understand and convey financial information. We are recruiting to a brand-new role and are looking for an experienced, community-focused Programme Manager (Place) to lead Salford CVS’s Pride in Place activity in Pendleton and Peel Green. This is a key role focused on ensuring that strong, representative community voice, clear governance, and meaningful VCSE sector involvement are embedded from the outset.

Pride in Place is a national ten-year programme that places Neighbourhood Boards at the heart of local decision-making, with local authorities acting as the accountable body and communities expected to shape priorities and hold partners to account. In this model, Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIOs) like Salford CVS play an important enabling role - helping to connect local authorities with VCSE organisations, strengthening engagement, and ensuring a diverse range of community voices can participate fully.

As Programme Manager (Place), you will coordinate our work to support high-quality governance, inclusive engagement and strong local insight across both neighbourhoods.

A core part of your work will be ensuring that Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards in Pendleton and Peel Green benefit from authentic, representative and evidence-driven community input. This includes leading the development of a community research programme, working in close partnership with VCSE organisations already active on the ground. Through these organisations, who often have trusted relationships with residents, established local networks and specialist knowledge of particular communities, you will lead on approaches that reach a wide range of voices, including those who are seldom heard. You will oversee our Trusted Voices and community researcher model, ensuring local people are recruited, supported and empowered to gather high-quality insight that reflects the diversity of each neighbourhood. This work will help create a rich, grounded understanding of community priorities, enabling transparent, accountable and well-informed decision-making across the programme.

The Programme Manager (Place) will bring clarity, organisation and coordination to this work. You will maintain oversight of our role within the wider programme, share insight with partners, identify gaps in engagement, and support the VCSE sector to participate meaningfully in Pride in Place structures and discussions.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community-led change, place-based working, and strengthening the voice and influence of local people and VCSE organisations. You will be joining a programme at a formative stage, helping to shape how communities in Pendleton and Peel Green participate in long-term neighbourhood investment and decision-making.

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes. This role is critical to the delivery of our mission and will support the Volunteering Programmes Manager to meet the needs of our community of 350+ volunteers so that we can reach even more LGBT+ young people across the UK. The role will be working across the Programmes Team, working on the Ambassador Programme and supporting the School Talks programme weekly. This role is an entry-level position and will provide the successful candidate with a strong foundation for a career in the voluntary sector. Job Description

This role reports directly to the Volunteering Programmes Manager.

Programme delivery
● Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes
● Good regular communication and reporting to the Volunteering Programmes Manager
● Manage the administration of our Ambassador and School Talk programmes. Including the recruitment, training, opportunities and engagement of volunteers
● Deliver Ambassador volunteer training on the weekend, in-person at different locations across the UK and online
● Act as a first point of contact for ambassadors on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes supporting ambassadors with their direct questions, managing the group chats on a daily basis and inboxes

The Sickle Cell Society is looking for a Programme Manager to join the team to oversee operations of the North West region Sickle Cell Children and Young Person’s mentoring programme. The Peer Mentoring programme aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people with Sickle Cell Disorders (SCD).The North West Programme Manager will be overseeing the success and delivery of the aims and objectives of the peer mentoring programme across Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield.

Our School Talks are a key part of our work at Just Like Us. We take hundreds of bookings from schools every year, and deliver hundreds of school talks across the UK with the support of our LGBT+ volunteers aged 18-25.
