The Role

As our Service User Participation Worker, you’ll make sure service-user voice actively shapes our culture, communications and service design. You’ll build community connection, run meaningful participation activities, and capture powerful lived-experience insight that directly influences decision-making, storytelling and strategy.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across communications, therapy, fundraising and leadership — translating real experiences into real change.

About You

You’ll be organised, empathetic and confident working with people from all walks of life. You’re comfortable facilitating groups, handling sensitive information and balancing structure with warmth. You believe participation should be meaningful, not performative.

Experience of working with disabled people, health settings, charities or co-production models is an advantage — but mindset matters just as much as background.

Safeguarding

We are looking for a Skills Development and Engagement Coordinator who will be involved in supporting the programme journey of a young person from when they have a confirmed place on our programmes to the point when they start their expedition or adventure with us. The successful candidate will also coordinate the delivery of our Expedition Workshops and manage our Workshop Facilitators.

If you are an energetic, mature, and motivated self-starter keen to take on new challenge come and help us prepare young people for adventure and to achieve their fundraising targets.  You will need to be hard working, proactive, practical and organised, and have the self belief to be a confident communicator and empathetic to the different starting points of young people. You’ll be motivated by targets, and able to identify opportunities and foster relationships with young people and other stakeholders as part of our wider British Exploring Society community.

About the role 

No Second Night Out (NSNO) provides a rapid intervention service to identify the quickest and most sustainable route away from the streets for new rough sleepers. NSNO is a 24-hour service, which aims to move clients on within 7 days from hubs, and within 42 days from staging posts.

In this role you will: 

• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with clients affected by rough sleeping. 

• Support a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers, with key tasks such as, assessing clients, implementing move on action plans and supporting clients towards a route away from the streets.

Working as a Trainee Assessment and Reconnection Worker you will: 

• Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to manage a caseload of clients working with them in a person-centred way and supporting them with their wellbeing and recovery.

• Develop the necessary skills and knowledge to work as part of the team to deliver the day-to-day service alongside colleagues and external services.

• Work closely with the team to receive on the job learning; shadow staff to observe how they support clients through person centred planning to empower them to make positive changes in their lives, including linking them in with all necessary support services internally and externally.

About you

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment.

• Personal experience of homelessness and/or an understanding of; and empathy with the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people.

Contract: Interim maternity cover role, nine to 12 month contract

The Head of Policy, Programmes and Media position is a senior position within the organisation. Part of the SLT and reporting to the CEO the postholder will take the lead on all policy and public affairs initiatives to secure policy change and funding to benefit people seeking advice and the communities served by the organisation's members.

Core responsibilities within the role will include:

• Develop and oversee the implementation of effective strategies for policy and funder influence that enable Advice UK to achieve its purpose
• Identify new audiences and develop innovative approaches to sustain and grow Advice UK's stakeholder and funder network and achieve its strategic priorities
• Be accountable for Advice UK's policy, public affairs and funded activities, reporting to the Chief Executive and Advice UK Board
• Lead the development and coordination of clear, concise and authoritative policy positions on key issues
• Identify actionable and achievable policy influencing goals to achieve change on the highest priority issues and develop strategic influencing plans to achieve these goals
• Alongside the Chief Executive, be Advice UK spokesperson and representative at external events including policy roundtables, steering groups, conferences, meetings and other events
• Oversee and deliver a proactive public affairs strategy to achieve policy change on the issues of priority concern to members
• Identify and build effective relationships with key contacts across UK and devolved governments and parliaments, including Ministers, MPs, civil servants and local and regional decision makers
• Lead a stakeholder engagement programme for Advice UK working strategically to identify, develop and manage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including policy influencers, funders, sector partners and other organisations
• Oversee the development of effective press and media campaigns, mobilising support and leveraging media opportunities to raise awareness and drive action on priority issues
• Oversee the development and effective delivery of the #AdviceSaves campaign (including Advice Week), ensuring impact is measured and lessons learned
• Oversee development of research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities in support of our policy and campaign objectives, using this to provide evidence-based insights and identify specific policy solutions to inform advocacy efforts
• Lead the development of high-quality research and insight products, including research reports and commissioned surveys to support our influencing goals
• Oversee the delivery of Advice UK's funding strategy to open up funding opportunities for members and their advice services
• As the departmental budget holder, lead on all financial management for the department, including forecasting and measuring financial performance, setting and managing budgets, reducing waste, and taking action to ensure the department achieves its financial objectives
• Provide effective leadership to the Policy and Public Affairs department including line management of a team of four, ensuring their strong performance and supporting their learning and development
• Work with other members of the senior leadership team to develop and implement Advice UK's strategic plan in supporting of its overall strategic objectives and to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)

Finance Manager

Westway CT is a non-profit social enterprise tackling isolation and creating community in West London through the provision of transport services and dedicated drivers offering a lifeline for community groups, older people, and anyone facing challenges using public transport across Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager who, reporting to the CEO, will play a key role in the running of two interconnected entities; a registered society, and its trading arm, which supports and subsidises their charitable aims. In so doing, the successful candidate will be helping to lead the way in a sustainable community benefit model that creates its own income by being part of the wider London transport mix, contributing to the local economy and working towards better air quality.

With line management responsibility of the Finance Officer, you will be an accredited qualified accountant, preferably with non-profit sector experience, with the ability to lead on the financial management of the organisation.

The Finance Manager is accountable for:

• Financial strategy and planning

The successful candidate will:

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Healthcare Improvement Senior Officer to join our Improvement Programmes Team, helping to deliver leadership programmes and quality improvement projects that support healthcare professionals to improve prostate cancer services across the UK. It’s a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same.

Examples of projects supported include work around establishing better Active Surveillance so that more men can avoid unnecessary radical treatment; work to restructure and make faster the diagnostic pathway; work to coordinate with primary care and support earlier diagnosis; new surgical procedures that spare men the burden of incontinence. You’ll help design, deliver and facilitate improvement programmes, preparing materials, supporting participants and making sure recruitment runs smoothly and on time. You’ll lead on organising Clinical Advisory Group meetings, support our digital channels, including webpages and online learning resources, and take on ad hoc projects or events as necessary.

You’ll coordinate quality improvement projects, help schedule programmes, and work with colleagues across Prostate Cancer UK to increase the reach and impact of our work. Building strong relationships with programme alumni is an important part of the role, including developing newsletter content, sharing best practice and creating opportunities for continued involvement. You’ll also coach and mentor clinicians using Insights Discovery (a psychometric tool helping people understand their own and others' behavioural preferences and communication styles), helping to spread learning and improve care across services.

What we want from you

We’re looking for an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to adapt communication style for different audiences. Strong organisational skills are essential, with the ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. You’ll have experience managing webpages and creating engaging online content, as well as delivering presentations and facilitating productive conversations.

You’ll bring experience of project management and be comfortable coaching, mentoring and/or supporting peer-based learning. Building strong relationships will come naturally to you, whether that’s with clinicians, colleagues, senior leaders or external partners. You’ll have a good understanding of the healthcare and/or charity sectors and the pressures faced by healthcare services.

We are seeking an enterprising, organised individual to join Akshaya Patra UK as our Supporter Engagement Officer. The role is a joyfully versatile one which requires planning, coordination, and a strong 'make it happen' attitude. As the first point of contact for supporters, community groups, and partners, the candidate will ensure every interaction, whether by phone, email, social media, or in-person, is positive, timely, and professional.

A key part of the role will be to build and grow volunteer chapters across the UK, developing local champions who increase awareness and funds for Akshaya Patra. Even as the candidate will invite new supporters to join our mission, managing supporter relationships with a defined portfolio of donors, monitoring income, and contributing to data analysis related to supporter engagement and projects is a key part of the role. Knowledge of British culture and geography is welcome, while familiarity with India, its regions, and Indian languages is an added advantage. You will attend meetings and events in London and other parts of the UK as required, with the flexibility to work remotely at other times. As Finance and Operations Manager at Fight Bladder Cancer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and building our finance and operational functions at a strategic level.

You will support all aspects of the charity’s work and development through the provision of strong financial assistance - ensuring accurate financial reporting, sales and other invoicing, bookkeeping, grant management and payroll management.

You will also take day-to-day responsibility for organisational administration. 

This role will involve close collaboration with our small team (currently 7.5 FTE) to ensure our day-to-day finance and operational requirements are met, working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to build greater financial resilience and strategic financial awareness within the charity.

Main duties and responsibilities

This is a generic job description that covers all the different roles of an industrial officer.

1. Bargaining

• Develop a bargaining agenda with activists and members, ensuring all bargaining activities are informed by the PCS equality agenda, policies and practices
• Take responsibility for negotiations with the management of civil service departments, agencies, public and private sector employers including pay and conditions of service of PCS members
• Represent PCS at joint meetings with management and other trade unions
• Prepare and present reports, and undertake effective monitoring and implementation of decisions, including consultative and legal ballots e.g. on pay and industrial action

2. Campaigning

The Partnerships Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering Youth Futures Foundation’s Employer Strategy.

You will embed and scale evidence-based practice across employer networks to create systemic change in how employers recruit, develop and retain young people.
