The Compliance & Recruitment Officer plays a vital role supporting the Recruitment and Compliance Team Partners to ensure that our recruitment and onboarding processes for permanent staff, temporary workers, and volunteers align with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity and compliance of our hiring practice.
As a Compliance & Recruitment Officer you will deliver a high quality and responsive service to prospective candidates, recruiting managers and business stakeholders. Skills and Responsibilities
On-Boarding & Compliance
- Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding and compliance process and ensure that the processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner, including: issuing contracts, pre-employment compliance checks, and keying new starters/setting up new starters on the onboarding system.
- Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data onto the relevant HR Systems/ spreadsheets, by employing robust quality assurance and due diligence measures.
- Be the subject matter expert for Access Recruit & Onboarding and Better Impact for the team, the candidates/onboardees and the wider organisation
- Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance requirements across staff files, including (but not limited to): Right to Work documentation (i.e. valid Visas and passports); Professional Registrations; Dr’s professional insurance, etc.
- Ensure that all aspects of DBS process are managed in accordance with policy/procedures
- Assist the Recruitment & Compliance Manager in preparing, analysing and producing relevant reports and statistics.
- Conduct audit checks on new starters, volunteer and temporary worker files and report back to team to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy of data collected.
- Coordinate and/or supervise a regular and continuous calendar of personnel file reviews and audits, to ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, and where relevant escalate non- compliance issues to the Compliance Partner and/or the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of an annual audit of CQC and Ofsted standards, across relevant business areas, e.g. The Children’s Trust School.
- Proactively maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our associated regulatory requirements, highlighting any updates and subsequent implications as soon as reasonably practical.
- Impart expertise and knowledge by delivering training sessions for new starters on compliance processes.
- In collaboration with the Organisation Development Team ensure the delivery of a seamless and engaging On-boarding and Induction experience for new staff and volunteers.
Recruitment & Selection
- Be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and compliance process for all types of permanent employees, Bank employees, temporary workers and volunteers.
- Maintain the administration of recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring that these are complete and accurate
- Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Promises, whilst adhering to current employment legislation including Disclosure & Barring Service, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, KCSIE and all policies and procedures
- Maintain an up-to-date list of vacancies, and ensure that all vacancies are advertised internally and/ or externally, in a timely manner.
- Support the Recruitment Team in the review and implementation of new and progressive recruitment initiatives, e.g. Employee Referral Scheme; Graduate Programmes; Apprenticeships; and overseas recruitment, with a view to increase the diversity and skill set of our workforce, across the organisation.
- Support the Recruitment & Compliance Partners with advertising vacancies, as well as the organisation and delivery of recruitment events and campaigns.
- Support the Recruitment & Compliance Manager with Bank Administrator recruitment and management of assignments.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily work tasks of team Bank Administration or Volunteer support, ensuring that all administrative aspects of the recruitment process are delivered to regulatory standards, on time and in a professional manner.
- Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.
People Team Support
- Where required, contribute to the collation of relevant recruitment and compliance data, ensuring that these are complete and accurate, in order to support the preparation, analysis and production of relevant service reports, e.g. recruitment KPIs, time to hire (on-boarding KPIs), SCR school reports, right to work/visa reporting.
- Build strong internal and external relationships and provide a first class, added value service, to all staff and external partners/ customers.
- Where required, provide additional support on specific People Team projects, as informed by and agreed with the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.

About the Role:

Dravet Syndrome is a rare, life-long and life-limiting form of epilepsy that affects approximately one in every 15,000 people in the UK (around 2-4,000 people in total). It is a complex epilepsy syndrome so as well as severe, difficult-to-control seizures, people with Dravet Syndrome live with intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated difficulties including with speech and language, mobility, behaviours, eating and sleep. It is also common to have a co-diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD.
Founded in 2008 by a group of parents seeking support and information, DSUK has grown significantly over the past 17 years. Today, DSUK supports nearly 600 registered families across the UK and reaches over 2000 people in total, including parents and carers, siblings and bereaved families. As an organisation they deliver a range of impactful services aimed at improving the lives of beneficiaries through family support, professional education and medical research.

JOB PURPOSE
To set up and manage our policy and public affairs activities in Scotland ensuring AdviceUK has a strong voice, so we can secure policy change to benefit organisations delivering advice and the communities they serve. The post holder will be responsible for establishing AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, including through developing policy solutions informed by strong evidence and rooted in member experience, and leading effective political and stakeholder engagement which will influence change. They will work closely with colleagues across the UK to join up policy, influencing and communications work.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Strategy
1.1 Develop AdviceUK’s first policy and influencing strategy for Scotland, through consultation with members and stakeholders and analysis of the landscape and opportunities in Scottish policy making.
1.2 Put plans in place to roll out a specific programme of proactive and reactive policy work to further AdviceUK’s strategic aims in Scotland and represent the voices of Scottish members.
1.3 Devise measures to monitor the impact of our policy and influencing work in Scotland and report back to staff, trustees, members and stakeholders about the difference we are making.
2.Policy development
2.1 Collaborate with AdviceUK members, partners, sector stakeholders and
beneficiaries to develop clear, concise and authoritative policy positions on key issues.
2.2 Produce high-quality, well-argued policy materials based on data and evidence, including reports, select committee responses, evidence statements, briefings and responses to Scottish Government consultations.
2.3 Provide policy input for media statements, press releases and social media posts relating to Scotland, which are managed by the Press Officer and Digital Marketing Officer.
2.4 Develop an expert knowledge of policy issues affecting Advice UK members, keep up to date on the political and legislative environment and identify opportunities to use these to further Advice UK’s strategic objectives.
2.5 Represent AdviceUK at policy and/or sector meetings and events.
3. Public affairs
3.1 Roll out a programme of public affairs work including Scottish parliamentary engagement to promote AdviceUK’s strategic priorities.
3.2 Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the Scottish Government and parliament, local and decision makers, non-governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
3.3 Champion an evidence based approach to all Advice UK’s advocacy and external relations work, drawing on research and member insight to inform our campaign messages.
3.4 Ensure regular opportunities for Advice UK members in Scotland to feed into our public affairs and advocacy work, and regular communications on our impact, to demonstrate how we amplify their voice.
3.5 Monitor and evaluate public affairs work, including collecting relevant metrics, to report back on our success and inform future campaigns.
4. Research and data
4.1 Work with Policy, Programme and Media (PPM) colleagues as well as the wider AdviceUK team to develop the evidence base needed to inform our policy and campaigns work in Scotland.
4.2 Work with the Research and Policy Analyst to carry out analysis that identifies emerging trends in the Scottish advice world and use this to provide evidence-based policy briefings and specific policy solutions.

Job Purpose:
This role will lead the development and delivery of Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative. We are beginning several exciting new projects focused on engaging young people who live with allergy and providing opportunities for them to have a voice and support them in raising awareness of the issues that affect their life. We are seeking young people’s participation and co-production in all activities we develop to support their needs. The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.
The Youth & Community Engagement Officer will engage with children and young people across the UK to ensure they are meaningfully involved and supported to influence Allergy UK’s services, campaigns and resources. This includes creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people and parents and carers feel listened to and empowered to share their experiences.
The successful individual will develop youth opportunities that build confidence, skills and life chances, while supporting children and young people living with allergy to overcome the social, emotional and practical barriers they may face. A key part of the role will be working collaboratively with parents and carers to ensure their voice inform decision making and design.
As a Youth & Community Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with children, young people and families, and have a proactive, organised and confident approach.
Strong organisation skills and initiative are essential as you will be the lead Allergy UK’s youth provision.
You will coordinate a range of activities on-line and in-person engagement sessions, blogs, podcasts, learning opportunities and digital activities all rooted in co-production principles. You will work as part of a wider team to engage children, young people and parents and carers, to amplify unheard voices and stories, and help drive positive change for families living with allergy.
The post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund until September 2028. As a grant- funded role, the postholder will be responsible for the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of agreed grant outcome and KPI’s, ensuring full compliance with funder requirements and reporting deadlines.

About the role
We‘re looking for a multi-skilled and passionate Individual Giving Officer. You’ll play a key role in the effective delivery of Sight Research UK’s Fundraising Strategy, with particular focus on individual giving and external-facing activities to help us achieve our charity’s mission.
We're looking for someone who can work independently within our growing Bristol-based charity and who is also willing to get stuck in and be a team player. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, be self-motivated, and have excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain key supporter relationships.
This Officer-level role is the perfect opportunity for someone ready to take on a challenge and reignite and grow an income line with real potential. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills in relationship-building, project management, campaign planning and delivery, data analysis, and much more.
You’ll also work closely with the Fundraising Manager, Marketing and Communications, and other internal charity teams to help us deliver our Fundraising Strategy. This includes a breadth of areas, not limited to individual giving campaigns, such as payroll giving, lottery, and community fundraising. Your passion and expertise will enable our charity to fulfil its vision of 'A clearer future for those living with sight loss'.
Responsibilities to include:
- Under the direction of the Fundraising Manager and in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team, deliver individual and regular giving campaigns across online and offline channels,
- Support regular giving products, including monthly direct debits, payroll giving, and the lottery.
- Assist with the delivery of cash appeals, including seasonal campaigns such as Christmas appeals.
- Help plan and implement campaigns in line with the annual fundraising plan and budget.
- Support the development and management of cases for support.
- Coordinate day-to-day campaign activity, including schedules, data checks, print specifications, quotes, and briefs.
- Support the management of individual giving income targets and campaign budgets.
- Deliver written and verbal supporter stewardship communications to thank, engage, and retain supporters.
- Ensure that supporter journeys are followed and adapted based on feedback and performance.
- Use and maintain the Donorfy CRM system to ensure supporter data is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure all individual giving activities are correctly recorded on supporter records.
Person specification to include:
- Previous experience or transferable skills in a fundraising/sales/direct marketing environment.
- Demonstrable ability to provide excellent personalised stewardship/customer care to Supporters/ clients / customers, cultivating long-term relationships and making them feel valued.
- Experience using a CRM or fundraising database and maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of supporter stewardship and the importance of positive donor journeys.
- Understanding of online fundraising and digital channels such as email and social media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and be your own proofreader.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
