About the Role:

As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll be right at the centre of keeping our properties safe, comfortable, and welcoming for the people who call them home. Responsibilities include:

• Conduct on-site assessments of repairs and report any unreported maintenance issues to the line manager.
• Specify and request materials and equipment through the line manager as needed.
• Respond to out-of-hours calls and attend services for emergency repairs when required.
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including tasks such as hanging doors, basic carpentry, and unblocking drainage.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Wide knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance, including carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical works.

Summary of the role

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity and works with thousands of schools and young people across the UK through its programmes. This role is critical to the delivery of our mission and will support the Volunteering Programmes Manager to meet the needs of our community of 350+ volunteers so that we can reach even more LGBT+ young people across the UK. The role will be working across the Programmes Team, working on the Ambassador Programme and supporting the School Talks programme weekly. This role is an entry-level position and will provide the successful candidate with a strong foundation for a career in the voluntary sector. About Just Like Us

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Founded in 2016, we work with primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. To do that, we run several programmes:
● Ambassador Programme: We support our ambassadors to use their voice, develop skills and find community. They also deliver our School Talks programme to schools across the UK.
● School Talks programme: We train and support our LGBT+ 18 to 25 year olds to speak in secondary schools about growing up LGBT+ and allyship.

Job Description

This role reports directly to the Volunteering Programmes Manager.

Programme delivery
● Support the Programmes Team to deliver our programmes
● Good regular communication and reporting to the Volunteering Programmes Manager
● Manage the administration of our Ambassador and School Talk programmes. Including the recruitment, training, opportunities and engagement of volunteers
● Deliver Ambassador volunteer training on the weekend, in-person at different locations across the UK and online
● Act as a first point of contact for ambassadors on our programmes, answering questions, sharing new resources and encouraging participation. This includes supporting ambassadors with their direct questions, managing the group chats on a daily basis and inboxes
● Support the School Talk programme, including organising bookings with schools, organising volunteers, supporting schools, supporting the whole delivery
● Represent the charity at conferences, events, prides and fairs
● Ensure volunteers to have a fulfilling and engaging experience when volunteering with Just Like Us, that they feel recognised and understand the impact of their contribution
● Work collaboratively across teams to manage logistics and ensure the smooth running of Just Like Us programmes throughout the academic year.
● Support with the creation and development of resources for volunteers

● Have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with great attention to detail
● Have a willingness to learn and develop
● Be able to travel across the UK, working some evenings and weekends to deliver ambassador training and oversee skill workshops for our volunteers
● Be able to work effectively both independently, as part of a team and across the organisation
● Be highly computer literate, willing to learn and use our database Salesforce quickly and proficient in using email, Google Sheets and Google Docs (or equivalent)
● Be able to work very effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Role purpose

The Senior Challenge Fundraising Officer will lead the delivery and growth of APF’s third-party and mass participation challenge events portfolio.

This role exists to significantly grow income and participation by managing end-to-end third-party challenge events, developing community-facing charity-owned fundraising products and delivering excellent supporter stewardship

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and colleagues across Communications, Services and the Operations Team, you will increase recruitment, empower supporters to raise ambitious funds, and create journeys that encourage long-term engagement with APF.

Success in this role means more people fundraising for APF, raising more income and feeling valued, supported and inspired to stay connected to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

1. Grow participation in third party

• Manage the full lifecycle of third-party and mass participation challenge events, from planning and recruitment through to stewardship and re engagement.
• Develop and execute creative marketing strategies to boost participation and attract new event participants.
• Draft engaging promotional content that inspires and engages our supporters in collaboration with the Communications team.
• Promote third-party events proactively across relevant channels and networks.
• Work with the wider Fundraising team to improve and refine the stewardship journey for challenge participants to maximise the participant experience.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to grow participation in new and existing events.
• Attend key events as required, managing on-the day logistics and volunteer coordination.

2.  Community Product Development

• Work with Head of Fundraising to shape and improve APF’s fundraising offer and remote products.
• Test and refine new fundraising concepts that increase accessibility and broaden participation.
• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure our community fundraising products align with wider campaigns and strategic priorities.

3.  Income growth and fundraiser mpowerment

• Inspire participants to achieve ambitious fundraising targets through engaging, creative communications.
• Develop and enhance fundraising materials, including participant packs and digital resources to support our fundraisers.
• Use insight and sector trends to identify opportunities to boost event visibility and maximise fundraising efforts.
• Monitor fundraising performance to ensure we’re meeting targets and delivering strong ROI on our challenge activities.

4. Stewardship and re-engagement

• Foster personal connections with supporters through thoughtful, tailored stewardship that keeps them engaged and feeling valued.
• Create clear re-engagement plans to encourage repeat participation and long-term loyalty.
• Collaborate with wider Fundraising and Services teams to support acquisition and ensure our supporters have a smooth, high-quality supporter journey.
• Represent APF publicly when required, acting as a confident ambassador for the charity at events and in public settings.

5. Data, insight and compliance

• Support on the management of CRM data to enable accurate segmentation, performance tracking and reporting.
• Monitor recruitment, participation, income and ROI to help inform future planning and improvements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge with GDPR regulations and compliance and ensure personal data is handled responsibly and securely.
• Work closely with the Governance and Operations Manager to ensure our fundraising activities are fully compliant with GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

About the role

You’ll be the main contact for the national training team providing support directly to kinship carers, training facilitators and others relating to the access and delivery of training events and workshops.

Training event coordination

• Support the production, update, distribution and quality assurance of workshop materials and ensure all collateral is on brand, signed off as required. 

• Develop and maintain an asset register of all training materials and equipment, ensuring availability when and where it is needed.

• Act as website champion for the team, managing and uploading all training content (workshop and events) and ensuring online training information is kept up to date.

Role Purpose

To provide steady financial leadership, ensuring stability, compliance, and continuity during a period of transition. The postholder will maintain strong financial control and reporting, support delivery of agreed structural changes to the finance team and ensure a smooth handover to the incoming post holder.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership and Control

• Maintain strong financial control, reporting and cashflow management.

• Advise CEO and Treasurer on financial stability, risk and reserves.

• Lead the preparation of the FY2026-27 budget, with a focus on three year financial planning. 

• Lead quarterly reforecasting and scenario planning to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and maintain at least three months’ free reserves.

• Prepare clear financial analysis and documentation to support a smooth transition and effective handover. 

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure financial obligations are met on time.

• Maintain documentation to support due diligence, risk management and compliance assurance to the Treasurer. 

Person Specification Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent). Strong record of senior charity or not-for-profit financial management.

• Proven hands-on ability in safeguarding and maintaining financial control, and compliance during organisational change.

• Understanding of SORP, restricted funding, and grant reporting.

• Calm, credible, and pragmatic, able to command confidence of trustees and senior colleagues.

Desirable

• Experience in environmental, research, or education sectors.

• Familiarity with Sage or similar finance systems.

• Experience in change management and business improvement, ideally within a not-for-profit setting.

The EDI Officer role focuses on enhancing equity in health access and outcomes for all social groups within the local community, particularly in OUH palliative care services. The post holder will collaborate closely with palliative medicine colleagues to develop and lead projects aimed at improving EDI aspects across all Palliative Care departments.

This will be achieved by implementing the five-year EDI strategy plan, which supports hospice teams in integrating EDI considerations in all areas of care. The Role

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· To be educated to degree level or equivalent qualification or work experience in related field.
