Summary job description 

We seek a Development and Grants Senior Officer to support our funding applications and grant reporting for Blue Ventures’ Indonesia programmes. Fundraising Strategist

Purpose of job:

As Senior Fundraising Strategist you’ll play an integral role in defining the fundraising strategies for cross organisational campaigns and targeted fundraising and engagement activities.  Working as a senior fundraising strategist within our Campaign Strategy & Planning team, you’ll direct cross-disciplinary project teams from across all levels of the business to deliver target beating initiatives from Red Nose Day to new product development initiatives that drive new revenue streams.  You’ll help establish data and insight led planning processes, ensuring strategies are well informed and robust.  You’ll ensure test and learn is embedded in any project and that rigorous analysis is built into measurement and evaluation processes.

Key responsibilities:

· Inspire and facilitate creative and innovative thinking and action, working with colleagues, including our Fundraising Innovation Lead, to ensure our fundraising campaigns and projects represent our disruptor brand and speak to new external innovations appropriate to target audience segments

· Devise and / or make use of a suite of data and insight tracking and reporting tools that are leveraged to drive optimisation and efficiency as well as informing new approaches to maximise supporter acquisition, development and retention and associated income opportunities

· Work closely with audience teams and activity owners to measure performance and to assess and communicate the results of campaigns and projects including retrospectives to aid continuous improvement.

· Working with the Creative Fundraising Strategy Lead, support the roll out of training and ongoing development of best practice planning and strategic development approaches.

Essential criteria

· A working understanding of fundraising, having recently devised and implemented successful fundraising strategies and initiatives 

· Experience of analysing data and insights to inform decision making; with proven abilities in financial modelling and interpretation of data and insight into actionable plans and initiatives

· Knowledge of segmentation and audience targeting strategies, including experience of using audience listening and audience targeting tools and services to define an audience first approach to planning initiatives

· Experience of planning; monitoring and evaluating major campaigns or projects, incl financial modelling, objective and KPI setting and preparing relevant documentation that underpins the delivery of activities

· Experience of working as part of project teams, taking the lead where appropriate

· Knowledge of fundraising and project management methodologies and experience of working with different approaches to project planning and delivery

· Experience of monitoring and evaluation of programme performance, including objective setting, developing toolkits, reporting and driving the learning process with stakeholders to achieve ongoing effectiveness

About the role of Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is a core member of WCC's management team and is a key advisor and partner to the CEO on all areas of finance.  The post-holder will have responsibility for timely and efficient management of the day-to-day accounting function and all internal and external financial reporting.  Reporting directly to the CEO this role is part of a friendly, highly productive and collaborative, dedicated clinical and operational staff team of ten.

About Pancreatic Cancer Action:

Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever. 

Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding. 

With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.

Main responsibilities:  

• Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
• Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.

Harris Hill are very pleased to be working with one of the UK's most loved children's charities to recruit a Fundraising Project Manager to join their Individual Giving Team. This role will lead on the day-to-day campaign management and delivery of one of their leading fundraising products.

Raising million of pounds annually since its launch, this product is one of the most successful products in this charity's portfolio. In this role Senior Fundraiser will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the involvement of the fifty-plus stakeholders across the organisation who come together every year to deliver this campaign
• Monitoring the organisation's performance against income targets and KPIs (key performance indicators) whilst the campaign is live.
• Ensuring that all our supporters have the best possible experience whilst engaging with this product.
• Line managing a juinor fundraiser

You'll also work on other existing products and campaigns as required and support the development of new fundraising products. This work will support the delivery of objectives in our new strategy which prioritises new product development..

The ideal candidate, will;

• have meticulous attention to detail,
• be experienced at cultivating internal and external stakeholder relationships,
• want to develop their project management skills
• have experience of product management

• Development Manager (Individual Giving and Parishes)
• Senior Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations) alongside a part-time Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
• Senior Development Manager (Major Donors)
• Senior Partnerships and Engagement Manager (Corporate Partners)

The successful candidate will empower and guide their team to sustainably push forward with fundraising strategy and delivery, nurturing relationships with trusts, foundations, corporations, high net worth individuals, Catholic networks, parish communities, and individual supporters. We seek someone with a proven track record in fundraising, leadership skills to inspire their team, and managerial abilities to foster a cohesive team spirit and support personal growth.

In addition to leading and developing the fundraising team, the Head of Fundraising will be part of our collaborative Executive Team, working closely with colleagues in Communications and Engagement, Business Development, Finance, and across our Services regions and specialisms. They will also receive support from our Head of Faith in Action, who reports to the CEO, and collaborate with our Chair of Trustees, Professor Jim McManus, and other trustees. We are looking for a development manager with a range of skills and experiences to support other mining charities develop a sustainable future. You will have a background in partnership working and developing funding opportunities, as well as a good understanding of charity governance.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in community and / or business development with a good knowledge of the charity sector.

As Development Manager, you will:

• Support mining charities to develop business plans and budgeting and help them to identify funding opportunities and develop funding proposals.
• Provide secretariat services to mining related regional grant making charities. 
• Contribute to the development of and promote the organisations support offer for other mining charities, seeking new methods of supporting local trustees.
• Support the recruitment and training of local trustees and officers, encouraging good governance

• Ability to resolve problems in a logical, proactive, practical and positive manner
• Ability to take initiative with a practical, ‘hands on’ approach to work
• A valid driving licence and own transport with the flexibility for some travel
