The Hygiene Bank is looking for a creative, strategic and proactive Communications & Marketing Manager to raise awareness of hygiene poverty, strengthen our influence and inspire people, businesses and communities to take action. This pivotal role will shape our voice as a growing national charity, leading communications and marketing activity across the organisation and with an exciting range of partners. 

Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners, the postholder will protect our brand integrity and ensure our messaging is clear, ethical and impactful. They will help amplify the voices of people experiencing hygiene poverty and strengthen engagement with volunteers, community partners, supporters and the public who share our mission to end hygiene poverty. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Communications Plan and Content Creation

• Develop and deliver the annual communications and marketing plan, working with senior leadership to align activity with organisational priorities. 

• Plan, create and manage high-quality written, visual and multimedia content across media, social media, newsletters, presentations, speeches and campaign collateral. 

• Ensure all communications are accurate, impactful and consistent with The Hygiene Bank’s mission, values, tone of voice and brand guidelines. 

• Translate complex or sensitive issues around hygiene poverty into compelling stories that engage supporters and partners. 

• Provide strategic communications support for key campaigns and partnerships, including National Hygiene Week, fundraising campaigns and work with partners such as Boots, Unilever and smol. 

• Oversee approval processes, brand resources and organised filing systems for communications materials. 

2. Digital Strategy and Implementation 

• Lead digital planning, delivery and maintenance across the website, email, social media and digital campaigns. 

• Manage digital advertising activity, including paid social, Google Ads and SEO, ensuring activity is effective and delivers strong return on investment. 

• Oversee analytics, reporting and insight-driven optimisation, using performance data to guide your own work and the work of the Communications Officer. 

3. Ambassadors and Influencers 

• Build and nurture relationships with ambassadors, influencers and public supporters. 

• Develop briefs, guidance and campaign plans for influencer activity, ensuring messaging aligns with organisational values and priorities. 

• Identify opportunities to amplify diverse lived experiences and voices. 

4. Events and Campaigns 

• Lead promotional activity for national and regional events, campaigns and awareness moments, including activity with brand and corporate partners. 

• Support branding and communications for in-person and digital events, producing event-related content such as photography, video and social media. 

• Collaborate with corporate partners to produce co-branded communications and collateral that protect our brand integrity and align with partner requirements. 

5. External Engagement and media 

• Lead communications for collaborative campaigns, including End Hygiene Poverty with In Kind Direct, coordinating activity, messaging and campaign assets. 

• Build relationships with sector organisations and partners to amplify shared campaigns, priorities and messaging. 

• Secure local, regional and national media coverage, working with external agencies to develop broadcast, print and online opportunities. 

• Produce press releases, statements, case studies and briefing materials to support proactive and reactive media activity. 

• Manage suppliers, agencies and freelancers, including budgets where required. 
   

6. Data and Monitoring 

• Monitor communications performance using analytics and performance data, ad use insights to improve performance. 

• Prepare an annual review of communications performance and learning to inform future planning. 

7. Team and Internal Communications 

• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support organisation-wide communications needs, providing guidance on messaging. 

• Line manage, support and develop the Communications Officer, empowering them to succeed in their role. 

• Provide responsive and practical communications support to colleagues across the organisation.

EXPERIENCE

About the role

Person specification

Experience of working with senior staff and committees is essential.

We are looking for a Senior Direct Marketing Officer to join the Public Engagement team at St Mungo's. In this role you will support the development, coordination and delivery of our fundraising communications plan for new supporters, helping us reach our fundraising goals and increase income to support our overall aims to end rough sleeping and homelessness for good.

Your role will help our programme grow our donor base and showcase the amazing work St Mungo's does and how a first gift can change a life. You will also:

• Take ownership of the day to day process of delivering campaigns, from briefing through to reporting, working closely with your manager on key decisions to focus on increasing response rate, recruiting consented new donors and decreasing CPA.
• Coordinate the delivery of high quality work on time, tracking performance and flagging progress against targets to your manager.
• Access and interpret campaign data via dashboard reporting tools, presenting clear analysis to your manager to inform decisions.
• Handle the process of working with suppliers and agencies independently, including campaign testing and reporting, feeding recommendations and options back to your manager for decisions.

In this Senior Marketing Officer role with the Activation Team you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Press Inserts campaigns. You will be supporting the Senior Marketing Manager and taking direct responsibility in the exploration and delivery of new campaigns, projects and channels. The role will also include support in the delivery of the DRTV and Brand programmes as well as supporting with ad hoc team requirements.

It’s an exciting time to join as we look to new and exciting ways to tell our story so you’ll be working with a range of internal and external teams to drive the programme forward. 

In this role, you will: 

1. Work closely with multiple internal and external teams, creative and media agencies and printers. Manage key agency relationships, including liaising with account managers to deliver campaigns and projects. 
2. Be responsible for developing the strategy, analysis and reporting of ongoing Press Insert campaigns. 
3. Work with the Insight Team and creative agencies to manage and deliver audience focussed communications.

To be successful, you will need:

• Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have: 

• Experience of project managing direct marketing campaigns from start to finish across a range of channels, including print, telemarketing and digital.

About the Role

We are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to lead the operations team, join the management team and support the CEO. Your priorities will be to oversee all fundraising, including campaigns, major donors and grant applications. You will oversee the HR of the organisation, including recruitment and disciplinaries. In partnership with the CEO and finance officer you will be jointly responsible for finance within the organisation. You will manage the facilities manager and administrator, ensuring that processes are followed appropriately and the building is maintained in good condition, ensuring we fulfil all legal requirements.

About You

You will be a senior manager who has energy and drive as well as sound judgement. On top of a strong track record in an operational position, you will have the breadth of experience to lead HR and systems, finance, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising. You will have experience in fundraising and funder management and be able to lead on making funding applications and reporting to funders. You will be a clear, analytical thinker who will strengthen the leadership of our charity. You will be an excellent manager of people. Position

MSF UK is looking for an experienced communications professional to join our team as a Senior Press Officer. You’ll play a leading role in managing high-profile reactive media enquiries so we’re looking for someone with sound news judgement, people management skills and the ability to maintain resilience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can think strategically, make confident decisions under pressure, and build strong relationships with journalists.

Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) Mon - Fri

Location: London – hybrid, 2 days per week London Office (including Wednesdays)

Salary: £54,452.47 – £66,553.01 per annum | Salary is offered in line with our pay framework and typically starts at the entry point of the band. Salary increases are considered annually and are subject to our appraisal and performance review process.

Job Purpose:

To raise awareness of the work and priorities of MSF with core target audiences via coverage in UK and international radio, podcasts, TV, print, online and documentaries.

Maintain relationships with international colleagues e.g. the IO, Communication Advisors, other press officers in key hubs globally as well as field communications teams.

Together with the other Senior Press Officer, deputise for Head of Media on rotation.

Secure both proactive and reactive media coverage – reacting in a swift manner to incoming news requests and seeking out new opportunities for coverage. The majority of the time you will be handling reactive news enquiries, and identifying opportunities in the news cycle to pitch proactively. During emergencies, the focus would be on reactive.

Support more junior members of the team – including line management of a press officer.

You will be part of an on-call / out of hours rota, including evenings and weekends, for which you will accumulate TOIL.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrable experience in senior press office work, TV production or international journalism, including substantial understanding of, and contacts in, UK media.
• Experience in pitching stories and features to print, radio, TV, podcast and online
• Good knowledge of world affairs and a demonstrable understanding of and commitment to humanitarian issues.
• Ability to cope with stress, competing priorities and short deadlines, retain good humour and make sound ethical and personal judgements in order to deal with ambiguities and conflict.
• Project management skills.

• Line management skills - desirable.
• Experience in the practical use of personal IT equipment and Microsoft Office 365 suite. The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate within a hybrid working environment utilising Teams, SharePoint, One Drive and Yammer.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will lead the ITF's global finance function and oversee the financial stewardship of the ITF Group and its parent organisation, subsidiaries and branches.

Working across a complex international organisation, you will ensure the organisation's financial sustainability while providing strategic leadership across financial planning, governance, investments, compliance and organisational performance.

You will help translate organisational priorities into long term sustainable financial strategies, providing high-quality financial insight that supports effective decision-making by the General Secretary, Executive Board, Congress and senior leadership.

Alongside leading an experienced finance team, you will drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting and controls, ensuring the organisation remains agile, compliant and well positioned to support its membership.

What you'll do

As Finance Director, you will:

• Lead the strategic financial direction of the ITF, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
• Develop financial strategies that support organisational priorities, future growth and organisational resilience.
• Provide trusted financial advice and strategic reports to the General Secretary, Executive Board, Congress, elected officials and senior leadership.
• Lead treasury management, including oversight of the ITF's investment portfolio, reserves and fixed assets.
• Ensure robust financial governance through effective internal controls, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee statutory financial reporting, tax compliance and relationships with external auditors, ITF lay auditors and other independent auditors.
• Coordinate the development of global financial policies, standards and financial management guidance across the organisation.
• Strengthen financial accountability and governance across the ITF's eleven regional offices.
• Lead the continuous development of modern financial systems that support organisational performance, decision-making and future growth.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to support major organisational initiatives, investment decisions and long-term planning.

About You

You will be a strategic and hands on finance leader who combines professional credibility with sound judgement, collaborative leadership and the ability to influence at the highest levels of an international organisation.

You will bring substantial experience of leading financial matters  within a complex organisation and will be equally comfortable discussing long-term strategy with senior leaders as you are ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.

You will have:

• A professional accounting qualification and membership of a UK or internationally recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• Extensive experience of board governance, audit, treasury management, investment oversight and risk management.
• Strong experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial control.
• Experience of ensuring compliance with UK financial, tax and regulatory requirements within a UK-regulated organisation.
• Experience leading finance within a complex organisation, ideally with international operations and multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience of developing financial strategy that supports organisational growth and long-term sustainability.
• A successful track record of leading organisational change and continuous improvement.
• Experience of building, motivating and developing high-performing professional teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues to a wide range of audiences.

• A willingness to travel internationally and work flexibly when required.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director with a social enterprise on a full-time, permanent basis. As Finance Director, you will lead the Finance function, providing high-quality financial planning, reporting, control, technical accounting and decision support that enables the COO, CEO, Leadership Team and Board to manage financial sustainability, risk and performance across the organisation.

The role has a particular focus on property finance, including the financial stewardship of the organisation’s mixed-use estate property portfolio, service charge arrangements, long-term asset planning and accounting for land and buildings, alongside senior oversight of charity / and social enterprise accounting and long-term financial sustainability. Please note, the COO retains senior executive ownership of financial strategy, capital allocation and organisation-wide financial sustainability.

As Finance Director, you will:

- Lead on organisation-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, balancing operational requirements with long-term financial resilience and sustainability

- Maintain an effective framework of financial governance, delegated authorities and internal controls that protects organisational assets and supports sound decision making

- Lead on the performance, capability and continuous development of the Finance function, ensuring effective delivery of finance services across the organisation with a business partnering ethos

- Provide strategic financial advice, challenge and recommendations to the COO, Leadership Team and Board on organisational performance, investment decisions and financial risks

- Contribute to organisational strategy, performance management and transformation initiatives

by ensuring financial considerations are embedded within major decisions and change programmes

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the not-for-profit sector, in a similar role (evidence of continuing professional development in charity / social enterprise finance, property finance, VAT, audit, treasury or systems improvement)

- Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc)

- Have more than 3 years’ experience leading a finance function or senior finance team in a complex organisation

- Be able to work confidently across multiple entities with property ownership within the group (knowledge of, or experience working with asset-owning, organisations and that own, manage or account for mixed-use property subsidiaries assets, including commercial, community or residential elements)

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
