The Alliance for Inclusive Education (ALLFIE) has led the lobby for change in inclusive education for over 30 years, serving as the only national Disabled people’s campaigning organisation working on this issue.
ALLFIE’s vision is to create an inclusive society by ensuring inclusive education within mainstream settings for ALL Disabled people. We campaign for ‘a world where inclusive education is a right, not a struggle,’ and for Disabled pupils and students to be fully included in mainstream education, training, and apprenticeships, with all necessary support. We also create the resources that people and organisations need to advocate/campaign for inclusive education, training, and apprenticeships and to develop good inclusive practice.
Job purpose: The Social Media Co–Lead will ensure the smooth delivery of ALLFIE’s online and social media content, to increase understanding of, and engagement with, our inclusive education campaign work. This is a production role which will focus on growth and consistency across ALLFIE’s online and social media platforms, ensuring accessibility in text, visual and audio content.

Your philanthropy experience, including designing successful cultivation and engagement strategies, and a significant track record of securing gifts, will help you to swiftly establish credibility across the University. As a Digital Communications Coordinator you will work across the UK assisting the Activist Engagement team with digital support to improve the engagement of our active members throughout the four countries. You’ll be working closely with members and RCN staff coordinating the digital tools and platforms needed to develop and enhance peer to peer communication for our active members, strengthening activist communities and building power.
It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from member participation using digital technology; data management; to scoping the market for new and innovative technology to support member participation.
In this role you will be working to across two main areas of priority: digital tools and data management. You’re day-to-day will be coordinating all the digital engagement tools and platforms. This may include supporting member to member participation through existing platforms to scoping the technology market for new innovative ways to increase member engagement. With support from the Lead for Activist communities you will also manage all aspects of digital engagement data and work closely with the Data and IT teams to ensure data protection.
We’re looking for someone who is technology savvy and is comfortable working with numbers. Someone who pays attention to detail and who can work as part of a team while hitting individual targets. Who is a go-getter and can follow the direction set by the Lead for Activist Communities, the Head of Activist Engagement, and the over-all strategic direction of the Activism Academy. It is important you can build professional relationships with members and staff by promoting a working atmosphere where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Most importantly you will have a commitment to grow a deeper understanding of building activism which will help to shape the RCN’s activist engagement.

About you
You will be a confident leader with strategic and critical thinking skills, and be the institutional champion of legacy giving at UCL. You will ideally bring experience from the charity or higher education sector, of delivering innovative and effective campaigns, and both income and expenditure budget management. We are looking for a Community Fundraiser with a proven track record of achieving ambitious community fundraising targets. You will be an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. You are perceptive and versatile and will have the ability to translate our story into rich content and compelling scenarios inspiring people to work with us. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships.
You will equally be as comfortable supporting members of the RAF family who want to fundraise, as you will presenting to a room full of students, a company or potential volunteers. No one day will be the same and you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.
As an experienced fundraiser, you will also be responsible to the Team Leader for promoting team as well as individual success.

There will be a requirement to travel around a strategically chosen geographical area and occasional overnight stays, as well as working evenings and weekends at events when required.
