About this role…
Every role at Thames Reach is about ensuring that the users of our services find and sustain a decent home, develop supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. On our structured Traineeship scheme, you’ll gain first-hand experience and on-the-job training in what we do. You’ll be expected to work full time on a rota basis. Our placements involve a range of working patterns such as shifts, including evenings and weekends, night work in our fast-paced Rapid Response Outreach team and Monday to Friday 9-5 roles.
The key features are:
• A thorough induction, followed by two six-month placements at our projects, one of which will be hostel-based.
• With supervision and training from experienced employees to help our clients to get off and stay off the street with access to appropriate services.
• Learning about and assisting with necessary administration and record-keeping.

We champion access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Policy and Practice Change team promotes practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and secures systems change through research, policy and advocacy.
About the role
This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.
The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the four days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.

The Senior Health Organiser will be primarily responsible for commissioning the delivery of health supporting activities and positioning our organisation to become a centre for innovation in health equity and community-led approaches to health creation.
The traditional healthcare system is set up to deal with sickness: making us better when we fall ill. But we know that health is created closer to home: in the security we feel in our housing, the strength of our relationships, the control that we feel over our environment, and the sense of purpose that drives us forward. At Pembroke House we’ve been building on these basic insights for the past 10 years.
Through our flagship Walworth Living Room project (see below) we aim to develop a space for a community facing rapid gentrification and growing inequality to gather, heal and build new visions of health: one rooted in our collective power and agency.
The aim of this work isn’t for Pembroke House to be commissioned by the state, but for us to support a flourishing community that traditional healthcare systems can respond and adapt to.
We’ve done a lot – from partnering with the South London and Maudsley NHS mental health trust on community-connections, to opening the Walworth Living Room with support from Impact on Urban Health, and resident-led research through our recent Social Model of Health work.
Today, the Walworth Living Room is home to a range of programmes that build community health through ranging from collaging, to fitness classes to shared meals. And it’s embedded in our wider-organising for a just neighbourhood – with a particular focus on food and housing.

• Our full time hours are 35 hours per week, but we are committed to flexible working and offer a hybrid approach to working. Members of our ELT are expected to be in person at one of our offices at least once a week and sometimes more. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team working to tackle youth homelessness.
This role is funded by the Oak Foundation and forms part of Coram’s Voices in Action programme which combines CCLC’s legal work, Coram Voice’s advocacy support and Coram’s policy and participation work to champion young people’s rights and create change. It centres and amplifies the voices of young people through our young ambassadors with personal experience of homelessness or school exclusion. The young ambassadors campaign locally and nationally to change policy and practice and empower their peers with knowledge of their rights through workshop delivery and content creation.
Working with others across the group, the purpose of this specific role is to provide specialist housing law advice, preliminary casework and onward referrals to young people under the age of 25 experiencing housing related issues. This will include delivering regular outreach advice sessions in partnership with community organisations. The post holder will work with the Head of Community Care Law on project design, co-ordination, delivery and reporting. Supported by the Head of Community Care Law, they will be proactive in developing community partnerships and managing relationships with partner organisations.
The role will be integrated within the wider community care and public law team and will be supported by the Head of Community Care Law. Building on the existing expertise and practice within the team, there will be a particular focus on advising and supporting young people who are care experienced, should have benefited from care or are young migrants. The aim is to diagnose complex legal issues relating to housing and homelessness, to ensure young people understand their position and legal rights and are either supported to take steps to realise those rights, provided with preliminary casework to resolve issue at early stage, or where needed, referred on for complex casework and litigation either internally or externally.
The role would suit an experienced housing law advisor or caseworker. We welcome applications from solicitors and non-solicitors. The successful candidate will lead a small, committed team of 16 staff, nurturing a culture that is collaborative, knowledgeable and grounded in our values. They will guide GROW’s strategic direction while staying attentive to the daily rhythms of farm and school life that make it a vibrant place for learning, growing and connection.
Trustees recognise the breadth of this role and are committed to strengthening the organisation’s operational capacity. An early priority for the new Managing Director will be to shape and secure support for an additional capacity-building role that complements their leadership and enables GROW to thrive in the years ahead.

We are hiring in our Grants team! If you are a Senior Grants Officer ready for your next challenge in London, this could be the perfect opportunity. The Senior Grants Officer will support the delivery of the organisation's fundraising strategy, with a focus on managing a complex portfolio of grants from trusts, foundations, and other statutory and institutional funders.
In this role, you will be managed by Charlotte Flew. As Grants Lead, Charlotte oversees a portfolio of some of ClientEarth's largest grants. Charlotte has a wealth of experience across grant management, fundraising, compliance and programme operations. Charlotte joined ClientEarth in summer 2025 and is based in London. Prior to joining ClientEarth, Charlotte held roles with international development organisation, WaterAid in the UK, Australia and Southeast Asia.
