Stand-by-me Bereavement Support (SBM) is an award-winning charity based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We support children and young people who have suffered bereavement through therapeutic group work, support for parents and carers and ‘Contact-me’, our school framework for supporting bereaved pupils. 

Role Overview 

The Bereavement Support Manager oversees the Contact-me programme. They introduce, train and help implement the programme within the school setting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services for pupils affected by bereavement.

They partner with the Clinical Services Manager to deliver SBM’s therapeutic groupwork programme, supporting assessments and leading the Parents/Carer sessions that run alongside.

Key Responsibilities 

Contact-me 

• Oversee the Contact-me programme, ensuring it meets the needs of bereaved children, their families, school and healthcare professionals.

• Introduce, train and help implement the programme within the school setting, providing ongoing guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services. 

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to enable a holistic, ‘team around the family’ approach to bereavement support services.

• Continuously evaluate the programme’s impact, making recommendations and implementing improvements as appropriate. 

Groupwork 

• Partner with the Clinical Services Manager to deliver SBM’s therapeutic groupwork programme, organising programmes, supporting assessments and leading the Parents/Carer sessions that run alongside. 

• Collect quantitative and qualitative information to inform SBM and meet the requirements for reporting to funders. 

• Continuously evaluate the programme’s impact, making recommendations and implement improvements as appropriate. 

Core 

• Act as an ambassador for SBM, promoting available services and contributing to the development and implementation of expanded and/or new programmes. 

• Collaborate with SBM’s staff and trustees to support reporting, upskilling and compliance requirements. 

Requirements & Qualifications  

• Relevant qualification(s) in counselling, social work or a related field 

• Experience working within a multi-therapy setting 

• Experience working with children and young people (within a support or educational setting preferred) 

• A strong understanding of bereavement issues and their impact on children and families 

• Empathetic and emotionally resilient, able to sensitively navigate conversations with children and families in distress; committed to using supervision and team check-ins to process the emotional impact of bereavement work 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with children, young people and adults 

• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, able to deliver compelling training and facilitate meaningful groupwork sessions 

• A collaborative and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to ‘muck in’ and support SBM’s wider goals 

• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to juggle multiple streams of work 

• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection policies

Because we support families when they need us most, you’ll occasionally work on Saturdays to lead these sessions. We offer Time Off In Lieu so you can reclaim your weekend time at a time that works for you.

Healthwatch Brent, Westminster and RBKC

Healthwatch was set up in 2013 to champion the rights of health and social care users, and hold the health and social care system to account for how well it engages with the public. During 2026/27 these services are preparing for transition while continuing to build on their legacy.

Healthwatch’s remit covers all publicly funded health and social care services for adults and children.

Healthwatch Brent, Healthwatch Westminster and Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea are three of 152 local Healthwatch organisations. The Advocacy Project Hosts three services. We’re building on the important work that’s been done to date,  planning for the future while bringing new insights from the voices of seldom heard and hard to hear groups.

About the role

As Healthwatch senior manager for The Advocacy Project you will play a central role in shaping the strategic and operational management of our Healthwatch services. This includes direct support to Healthwatch managers in Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, and Brent, ensuring that the services are inclusive, effective, and of high quality.

Key responsibilities

• To Provide strategic management for effective, inclusive and high quality local Healthwatch.
• Supporting the 3 advisory boards to be at their most effective during this period.
• Working with the CEO to engage with the ICB and other stakeholders to plan for next steps
• Make sure the work of HW Westminster (HWW), HW Kensington & Chelsea (HWRBKC) and HW Brent (HWB) conforms to all required principles, objectives and statutory obligations, and meets all contractual requirements between The Advocacy Project (as host organisation) and the local authorities.
• Line management of HW managers in each borough.
• Provide leadership to make sure the patient and public voice is heard across health, social care, in a continuously changing external environment.
• Working with managers in each borough, make sure HWB, HWW and HWRBKC involve the local community, particularly seldom heard groups, in influencing local and national policy and are responsive and sensitive to the needs of community groups with protected characteristics.
• Be available to represent The Advocacy project, HWB, HWW and HWRBKC at all strategic governance and external meetings with key stakeholders, liaising with nominated Board leads regularly.
• Support local managers to develop the services to respond to emerging trends and needs, while keeping abreast of Healthwatch England best practice to continually enhance the quality of the service.
• Develop effective partnerships with key staff in health and social care services.
• Work with local managers in each borough to ensure all projects are informed and influenced by local communities and strategic partners.
• Support the effective planning and resourcing of project work, working to Healthwatch England best practice guidance.
• Ensure that project plans and intended outcomes are clearly communicated to key stakeholders.
• Work with the shared Insight and Outcomes Analyst to make sure quality systems are effective and used to demonstrate the Healthwatch service is achieving outcomes and impact,and meeting key performance indicators.
• Ensure that lived experience and service user involvement is embedded in all evaluation.
• Provide reports to key stakeholders, including The Advocacy Project Trustees,  Commissioners, Advisory Boards, Health and Wellbeing Boards and Healthwatch England demonstrating our impact.

• Work with the borough Communications leads to make sure all relevant internal and external stakeholders receive relevant, timely and up-to-date communication about all Healthwatch projects.
• Keep up to date with current trends in health policy, service provision, current practice and matters concerning people as citizens, by reading, attending courses and networking.

Person specification

Essential

• Excellent knowledge of and experience of working at a high strategic level with the health and social care system and the voluntary and community sector, in particular Healthwatch.
• Thorough understanding of user engagement, community development, user involvement, and co-production principles and practice.
• Comfortable and capable of engaging with senior leaders in Health and Social Care both on a one-to-one basis and at strategic meetings such as scrutiny boards.
• Experience of managing through periods of change and uncertainty
• Experience working with diverse communities and tackling discrimination and inequality.
• Relevant experience in project delivery and evaluation, including data gathering and analysis, or training in research methods, statistics, or data analysis.
• Significant leadership or line Management experience including managing, developing and motivating a staff team.

Working closely with schools and Childrens Services, you will make referrals to a range of professionals and community services, ensuring whole family needs are met and thereby reducing the impact of caring on the Young Carer.

As a CYP Coordinator, you will plan and deliver respite activities, providing opportunities for Young Carers to spend time with their peers and recognise that they are not alone.

What the job involves

As part of our Customer Engagement and Experience team, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional supporter experience, from ordering shop items and receiving fulfilment materials to ensuring Gift Aid contributions are processed accurately and securely.

This job share role combines operational ownership, relationship management and compliance oversight. You’ll be trusted to run essential day-to-day activity and improve the systems that sit behind them.

You’ll build and manage strong relationships with fulfilment suppliers, holding them accountable to KPIs and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. You’ll also manage the day-to-day running of our online shop, including product development, stock forecasting, supplier coordination and performance monitoring.

You’ll keep fulfilment operations running efficiently by identifying improvements, resolving bottlenecks and making sure teams across the charity have what they need. Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of Gift Aid administration, ensuring claims are accurate, compliant with HMRC requirements and supported by clear audit trails.

By monitoring Gift Aid performance, you’ll analyse trends and recommend improvements, keeping internal teams informed and skilled in best practice. You’ll also support Fundraising teams with compliance checks, offering guidance and helping to resolve any issues quickly and effectively.

In addition, you’ll oversee monthly stock reconciliations and financial reporting for shop activity, ensuring accuracy and supporting informed decision-making. You’ll work closely with colleagues across digital, operations, marketing and customer experience to deliver a seamless, joined-up supporter journey.

This is a varied and meaningful role where your work directly improves how supporters experience Prostate Cancer UK.

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.

The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.

The Role

SERT is re-organising our structure geographically into three Catchment Clusters in the South East (defined as South London, East and West). Having conducted a successful pilot in the East, we are now expanding this approach to the new South London and West Catchment Clusters.

The West Catchment Cluster (WCC) requires an individual with proven leadership experience who can lead this newly formed team and strategically maximise SERT’s impact in the predominantly Surrey-based catchments of the Loddon, Wey and Mole.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Help to establish and enhance a ‘one-team’ ethos across the CC, whilst also ensuring it is embedded within the wider organisation
• Lead WCC’s prioritisation on the key activities (both restoration and engagement) that we wish to undertake in our Surrey Catchments.
• Direct line management of two roles (this may increase in the future):

i)Working with the Natural Flood Management Lead to grow the opportunities of using nature to hold back water in the landscape 

ii) Managing the Catchment Manager to ensure our Catchment Partnerships are action-based.

• Identify and directly support new project funding opportunities from a range of sources to grow our impact.
• Ensure WCC is at the right tables where decisions affecting its rivers are being made and has an important and respected voice in those decisions.

What We Are Looking For

This role is an exciting challenge and will require you to build on the foundations of what has already been achieved within these catchments. You will need to maximise impact by working with our Specialist Teams to priorities SERT’s activities and strategically guide river restoration projects.  You will also work closely with our Working With Communities team (WWC) to improve engagement with the communities who live along these rivers. It is desirable if you have a good overview of river catchments, data monitoring and the role that nature-based solutions (such as Natural Flood Management) play in providing multiple benefits.

About You

Besides having a passion for rivers, we require an individual who can confidently develop and grow a new team, whilst seeking new opportunities for impact. You will be adept at business development and will be comfortable supporting strategic relationships with catchment partners, local government, water companies, local businesses and environmental NGOs. You will need a good overview of Health and Safety best practise, empowering our Restoring River Catchments (RRC) team to undertake effective project delivery and risk management in the field.

This role is based across our Bloomsbury campus with work across various tennis sites in London. The post holder is required to be flexible in their hours of work as the position entails attendance during evenings and weekends.

We are looking for a Tennis Development Officer to support the delivery of tennis as one of our Focus Sports. The role combines tennis delivery with desk-based sports administration and student engagement. We are looking for someone passionate about developing tennis in all forms - from running beginner friendly sessions to working with students to co-create community volunteering projects.

This is a fixed term position for 3 years.

Details of the Role

Reporting to the Head of Principal Gifts, the Philanthropy Manager (Principal Gifts) will operate at the higher end of donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to secure significant support (six and seven figure gifts) in support of the University’s key priorities.

As an exceptional fundraiser, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of relationships with alumni and significant philanthropists, to secure gifts for bold, impactful projects and programmes across the University. You will proactively build the pipeline, demonstrating a creative approach to reach potential new donors in the UK and globally.

We seek individuals with success in securing significant philanthropic gifts in the Higher Education, Voluntary or Cultural Sector or proven transferable skills. You will have experience of working within a team whilst working towards personal targets. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are results orientated, persuasive and have exceptional negotiation skills.

 10 Windsor Walk (10WW) is a Community Interest Company established by local therapists concerned to address the provision of intensive psychological services for those most in need.

We support psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and the local community by providing psychotherapy treatment rooms and space for training and events related to developing psychological services.

More than this, we are a hub where therapists and psychoanalysts can meet, work together and exchange ideas on developing the practice as a whole.

Our work includes:

Affordable treatment – We run low- and no-fee psychotherapy for those in need in the local community, alongside trainees from the Institute of Psychoanalysis who offer low-fee psychoanalysis.

Community programmes – We run a weekly therapeutic playgroup for parents and toddlers seeking sanctuary in South London, alongside public events such as the Psychoanalytic Film Club and Maudsley Lectures.

Education and training – We host lectures, seminars and specialist training for psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, NHS staff and the wider public.

About the role:

We are seeking a part-time Finance Officer to support the financial management of the organisation and strengthen our internal financial systems.

Working closely with the Programme Manager and Finance Sub-Committee, the Finance Officer will maintain accurate financial records, support grant reporting and provide financial information to support organisational planning and governance.

This role is particularly suited to someone with strong bookkeeping experience who enjoys working in a small mission-driven organisation and contributing to the development of robust financial systems.

Summary of tasks:

·Day-to-day bookkeeping and maintenance of Xero

·Managing payments

·Reconciling bank transactions and maintaining accurate financial records

·Maintaining clear financial records and audit trails to support internal controls and financial transparency

·Producing and releasing sales invoices

·Submitting monthly payroll info to accountant, including HMRC and pension submissions

·Preparing and posting monthly journals ahead of review by the Programme Manager and Finance Sub-Committee

·Maintaining prepayments and accruals

·Tracking and monitoring grant income and expenditure, and preparing financial reports and information for existing and future funders

·Updating and maintaining cashflow forecasts

·Supporting year-end accounts and liaising with external accountants

·Support the review of the Reserves Policy

The Estate & Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective management, upkeep and maintenance of the St Stephen’s estate (comprising of the Church , Crossway, office building & 4 residential properties), ensuring that the estate is safe, compliant, well maintained and fit for ministry and community use.

The role oversees estate administration, building services and residential property maintenance, maintaining accurate records and contractor documentation. The post holder manages the annual maintenance programme, quinquennial inspection process and capital works projects, coordinating contractors and suppliers to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.

The Estate & Facilities Manager also leads on Health & Safety across the estate, ensuring that appropriate policies, risk assessments, fire safety procedures and statutory compliance requirements are in place and implemented, working closely with the Director of Operations.

Our Events and Community Fundraising team raises vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK through a wide range of activities, events and challenge events. As Community Fundraising Executive, you’ll be a key member of our sector-leading team, raising over £5 million each year from individuals organising their own fundraising events and local-level corporate partnerships.

You’ll build strong, meaningful relationships with mid and high-value supporters, providing tailored stewardship that motivates, inspires and maximises their long-term fundraising impact. Working closely with the Community Fundraising Manager and wider team, you’ll identify emerging opportunities, spot potential high-value fundraisers and help shape the growth of our community fundraising programme. How and where we work

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.
