Woman’s Trust is a leading mental health charity supporting women affected by domestic abuse. For nearly 30 years, we have provided free, trauma-informed counselling, therapeutic groups, and workshops to help women rebuild their emotional wellbeing. Led by and for women, we support over 900 women and children annually, with an income of £1.4m and a dedicated team of 40 staff.
We are seeking a Head of Fundraising and Development to lead our fundraising team and play a key role in our Senior Leadership Team. You’ll be joining Woman’s Trust at a pivotal moment, as we build on nearly 30 years of specialist expertise to meet growing demand, expand our services for women and girls, and extend our influence through training, research, partnerships and policy to create lasting change. As demand for our services grows, we aim to double the number of women we support annually, achieved in part through growing our income.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing new funder and partner relationships across trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporates.
Strengthening existing relationships to secure sustainable, multi-year funding.
Leading fundraising growth, aiming for £3m by 2027/28.
Collaborating with the CEO, trustees, and Senior Leadership Team to shape fundraising strategy and operational delivery.
Leading an passionate team of fundraisers to maximise income generation opportunities.
We seek a highly motivated, ambitious fundraiser with proven experience at a senior level, securing five- and six-figure and multi-year grants. You should be skilled in relationship building, with a keen interest in communicating and influencing key stakeholders to create strategic partnerships that align with priorities. An interest in mental health and supporting women affected by domestic abuse will be essential.

About the role
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Family Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) to join Birmingham's new Family IDVA Service. With 10 roles available, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative city-wide service from the very beginning, helping to improve outcomes for parents and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.
Each Family IDVA will be based within one of Birmingham's 10 Family Hubs, working as part of a multi-agency network to provide specialist domestic abuse support where families need it most. As a Family IDVA, you will provide a flexible range of interventions tailored to the needs of each family. This may include risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, practical and emotional support, support through criminal and civil justice processes, recovery-focused interventions, and helping families access wider services and opportunities. You will manage a varied caseload and work closely with partner agencies to ensure families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity, preventing escalation and reducing harm.
Alongside direct support, you will play an important role in strengthening the wider response to domestic abuse across Birmingham. You will deliver targeted training and awareness sessions to professionals within Early Help, education, health and community settings, helping to build confidence in identifying and responding to domestic abuse and ensuring families can access support sooner.

The People and Culture Manager is responsible for overseeing and strengthening the organisation's people function, ensuring that staff are well-supported, processes are legally compliant, and that workplace culture reflects We Belong's values of lived experience, empowerment and inclusivity. The role requires both professional HR expertise and an understanding of how trauma, lived experience, and care considerations should inform organisational policies and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Compliance develop policies, ensure legal compliance, report to CEO and Board
Recruitment & Development lead inclusive hiring, onboarding, appraisals and workforce planning
Staff Welfare champion wellbeing through a trauma-informed, lived-experience approach
Employee Relations support managers on performance, disciplinary and conflict resolution
HR Systems maintain accurate staff records, ensure data protection and streamline reporting
Essential CIPD Level 5+, proven HR management experience (charity or lived-experience-led organisation preferred), strong employment law knowledge, trauma-informed practice understanding, and excellent communication skills.
Desirable Experience in health, social care or community settings; knowledge of safeguarding frameworks; organisational change experience. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
