We are recruiting Finance Business Partners to support research teams and collaborate closely with the central finance team. The Person

Philanthropy Manager

Charity People are excited to partner with a charitable organisation to find them a new Philanthropy Manager, this is a maternity cover role.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Development team. You will actively manage a pool of individual donors to cultivate, steward and solicit donations for exhibitions, education, and programmes. You will have great administrative and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with high-net-worth people, and a sound understanding of fundraising and the sector. There is no line management responsibility for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to implement and refine the organisation's major giving strategy, with a focus on securing mid-to-high level gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
• Develop compelling fundraising proposals, working closely with Programmes colleagues to gather project and financial information.

• Ensure accurate records are maintained through the CRM system.

• Work with the Philanthropy team to ensure philanthropic partnerships do not carry financial or reputational risk to the organisation and are compliant with the organisation's ethical fundraising policy through active Due Diligence for Ethics Committee.
• Work closely with the Finance team to ensure donations are managed efficiently.

You will bring:

• Experience of cultivating, soliciting and closing 5 figure+ gifts from individuals.
• Previous experience of contributing to or participating in strategy development, devising and implementing plans for major gifts fundraising.
• Pro-active, resourceful and entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and ability to take initiative and work autonomously when required.
• A highly organised and flexible approach to work, able to plan and prioritise a varied and busy workload and deliver agreed outputs to tight deadlines.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into compelling narrative form.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider Development team and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Innovative and creative approach to research methodologies and identifying prospective supporters.
• Previous experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM system.

Family Support Foster Carer

Overview

The family support foster carers (FSFCs) mentor their families and offer short breaks for children, offering stability and giving parents time to address their challenges with support. They provide feedback on their involvement with the families during review meetings.

The FSFCs could be experienced foster carers within the service who want to develop their skills and explore a new opportunity within fostering. Alternatively, they can be recruited specifically to this role in SUSD but must gain approval prior to commencing in the role. Is it imperative that the FSFCs have the skills and commitment to working with both parents and children as part of the SUSD programme. A role description for the FSFC is included in this pack.

Role and Responsibilities

The key aspects of the role are to

• provide weekly mentoring support for parents who are referred to SUSD. There is maximum caseload of 4 families at any one time.
• support the family to set and review goals, using our Person Centred Planning app.
• provide one planned short break each month for each referred child.
• offer crisis response support to families in the form of phone calls, visits or crisis short breaks.
• attend training provided by The Fostering Network & the Local Authority, enabling the FSFC to provide training and support to families.
• help with family activities, such as outings, family activities, summer schemes and residentials

The Family Support Foster Carer will be required to record details of the support provided, sharing with the supervising social worker as appropriate. During weeks that the FSFC has attend a review or support meeting for a family, they will not be required to complete another mentoring session with that family.

Working with parents and families

Families are referred to Step Up Step Down by their social worker. The scheme is voluntary, and families are empowered to decide whether they want the support. SUSD support has 4 primary aspects:

• mentoring for parents
• short breaks for children
• family activities
• community supports.

SUSD Mentoring Sessions are based upon areas of identified need. These are decided through the referral process and the initial planning meeting and are reviewed every three months throughout the duration of SUSD support. The key areas of support are: Routines, Budgeting, Healthy Living, Mental and Physical Wellbeing, Behaviour Management, Access to supports, Family Relationships, Dealing with Crisis Situations, Play and Stimulation.

The FSFC will also be required to give updates and share progress at review meetings. Information required will be:

• number of parent mentoring sessions since the previous SUSD review (including cancelations), and details of the work covered with the parent;
• number of short breaks since the previous review, and details of activities;
• any and all other support given to the family.

Support for the Family Support Foster Carer

Personal development and self-care is important, as we know that the best supporters are well supported themselves. There are several ways that SUSD will support the FSFCs.

• There will be regular supervision where they can discuss complex cases or raise any issues.
• FSFCs will be encouraged to attend training that will support them in the role, and to take an active role in identifying what this training should be.
• Quarterly carer support sessions are organised to enable the FSFCs & other SUSD team members to meet and learn from each other.
• FSFCs are also encouraged to form informal peer support networks.

Service: Children's Services

Salary: To receive a minimum allowance of £19,700, up to a maximum of £32,700 per annum

Please note, this is a self employed role and you will receive a weekly allowance. As a registered foster carer you will qualify for Qualifiying Care Relief and can earn up to £18,000 before paying tax.

We’re looking for a Solicitor or CILEx to supervise our housing advice team and legal aid contract. The team offers complex casework and representation to clients facing possession, eviction, serious disrepair and housing issues related to DAV and to anti-social behaviour. Inter Mediate is a London-based peace-making charity supporting confidential negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. Specific responsibilities

Finance

Working with the Head of Finance as required:

• Record and process a range of financial transactions accurately and efficiently to deadline in Sage 50 software (often in multiple currencies). Maintain financial records ensuring accuracy to facilitate internal and external audit processes;
• Take the lead in compiling, tracking and monitoring project budgets in close collaboration with operations and project teams;
• Track project and core expenditure and support in preparation of accurate, compliant and timely financial reports to funders to satisfy reporting requirements;
• Help to compile and monitor project budgets, log activities and record/prepare relevant material for grant audits;
• Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures;
• Manage book-keeping function by recording invoices, ensuring that they are promptly  authorised in line with agreed financial procedures and paid on time;
• Manage complex cash and credit card expenses by collating and recording in multiple currencies; and taking charge of banking, petty & foreign cash accounts;
• Take the lead on initiatives to research, introduce and implement appropriate finance software to make the finance function more efficient;
• Be prepared to play an active role as IM brings management accounting in-house
• Support Inter Mediate with company and grant audits.

Operations

Working with the Operations Director as required:

• Assist with researching and implementing operations systems, policies and procedures (as requested by the Operations Director;
• Assist with timesheets, and absence reporting management;
• Collaborate with operations and project teams in complying with donor requirements;
• Undertake special projects such as aspects of the salary and benefits benchmarking exercise;
• Assist with smooth running of the office and maintenance of office systems and equipment, including stationery orders, overseeing subscriptions and shredding.

General

• Assist with organising meetings and events, including travel logistics, and providing other general support when required.

We have access to a unique dataset within the kinship care space, and we want to use these data to better drive change – including how we develop and deliver our services, how we influence policy and practice informed by evidence, and how we use the experiences of kinship families to drive positive change.

You may want to work remotely or spend 1-2 days in our London office to spend time with colleagues.

Key responsibilities:  

• Data management: Bring together data securely from multiple sources such as Salesforce, Form Assembly, Engaging Networks and spreadsheets – helping to ensure it is clean and easy to work from. 

• Data analysis and reporting: Conduct statistical analysis on datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for service improvement, policy formation and evidence building. Present findings through reports, dashboards, and visualisations. 

• Performance tracking: Assist in tracking and evaluating the success of charity programmes by working with teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing practical actionable recommendations for improvement. 

• Data quality and integrity: Help ensure the accuracy, consistency and reliability of data across systems. Support colleagues through implementing best practices that lead to improved data quality whilst maintaining data privacy and security standards. 

• Data-driven insights: Provide helpful insights that support everyday decision-making across the charity, ensuring that internal actions are based on reliable data and external campaigning is based on robust evidence,

• Data visualisation: Develop simple dashboards, charts and visualisations to communicate complex information in a clear, easily understandable way for non-technical stakeholders and the public where relevant. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with different departments, including senior stakeholders, to identify data needs and provide the charity with accurate, relevant and timely data that contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced efficiency and evidence-based decision-making. 

• Ad hoc analysis: Perform other analyses and reporting tasks as needed to support service performance, business development, fundraising, advocacy and research activities. 

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include:

• BSc or equivalent practical experience in data analysis or a related field 

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, R and/or Python

• Experience with PowerBI or equivalent data visualisation systems 

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and interpret complex data to generate actionable insights 

• Intellectual curiosity and ability to self-direct analytical work 

• Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM system 

• Ability to clearly present data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing and analysing data 

• Exceptional business-partnering skills

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a vital role at Cure Parkinson’s, as our Research Grants Officer. This role will be responsible for supporting research scientists who are applying for grants or are carrying out funded research for us. This work is critical for us to achieve the charity’s main objective of funding Parkinson’s research to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

As our Research Grants Officer you will be comfortable building relationships and providing support for researchers. You will be an effective member of our pioneering Research Team, ultimately helping us to drive scientific discovery forward and bring us closer to a cure.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide operational leadership and oversight of the Carers Manchester Volunteer Programme and support the wider development of the Volunteer Programme at Gaddum. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with Carers Manchester colleagues to ensure volunteers feel equipped and supported to use their skills and lived experience in a range of established volunteer roles.

They will also work with the team to develop and recruit volunteers for new roles that support Carers Manchester to deliver on its aims and objectives. The role will involve maintaining close working relationships with our Central Team, Health & Safety systems, and compliance responsibilities. 

All staff are expected to work within all Gaddum policies and procedures. This role is subject to a basic DBS check.
