Fundraising lead (fixed term 12-month contract, 0.4 FTE i.e. 14 hours a week)

JustMoney Movement is seeking a part-time Fundraising lead to help us grow a more sustainable funding base. The role will work with senior staff to develop our strategic case for support to target small organisational/ institutional donors (£1-5k grants/ donations).

We are a Christian charity using education and advocacy to work towards our vision of a fairer, greener future, through the transformation of our financial system and wider economy. We want to grow and diversify our funding base, reducing our dependence on a small number of grants, and building a movement of allies who feel part of the community and are willing to financially support it.

The Fundraising lead will work with senior staff to develop a case for support for our overall strategy and use this to target small organisational/ institutional donors including small trusts; corporates and organisations; and churches. 

Role description

· Grade 3.1 expected FTE salary £35,700 pro-rated to 0.4 FTE/ 14 hours a week = £14,280 (subject to annual inflationary pay review).

We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrable experience of securing four and five figure gifts from Trusts and Foundations. 

How you'll help to create brighter futures  

• Work collaboratively and support the team to implement activities to deliver the Trust team’s financial aims with a responsibility for delivering an annual income target, focusing on securing four and five figure donations from charitable trusts and foundations.
• Initiate and develop long-term relationships with trusts and foundations.
• Develop and implement individual solicitation and stewardship plans for existing trusts and new prospects.
• Contribute to a communication and stewardship programme.
• Collaborate with fundraising colleagues to track and report on prospecting activities.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that fundraising partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations achieve their maximum potential. 
• Work with the Philanthropy, Trusts, and Prospect Development Managers to identify new prospects.

• Ability to manage a complex pool of prospects and donors, devising clear donor solicitation plans with the aim of securing long term financial philanthropic support.
• Experience of creative proposal and report writing.
• Experience of preparing budgets for potential funders and for grant reports.
• A professional solutions-focused approach to making effective decisions.
• Experience of using and interrogating relational databases, maintaining accurate financial records.
• Flexible and calming approach to work and willingness to be accommodating over working hours when required.
• Excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills.

What We're Looking For

Job Summary
Under its current 5-year strategy (2021 – 2025), ‘Choosing Peace in times of fear & division’, Place for Hope has successfully grown and diversified its partnerships, funding and volunteer team. This has enabled us to grow our reach and impact in equipping people and faith communities to be peacemakers working towards a more peaceful and reconciled world. 

The new Director of Place for Hope will continue to develop Place for Hope as they work with Trustees, Staff and Volunteers to shape and finalise the next 5-year strategy that ensures Place for Hope is fit for purpose in a changing UK landscape for charities and faith communities. They will provide leadership and to be responsible for the overall management and administration of the charity within the strategic and accountability frameworks agreed by the Board of Trustees. 

Previous experience essential to the role includes: values-based leadership; peace, conflict transformation and/or mediation; collaborating and communicating effectively with different Christian denominations and other faiths, excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience in income generation (including through building diverse partnerships).The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities to transform conflict, navigate change well and be able to support an internal CPD programme and culture of reflective practice.
