About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker on a full-time basis (35 hours, 5 days per week), to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Southampton Care Team to families in the local area, at a time where they need it most.

Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the Southampton Care Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness. You will enjoy responsibility for managing your own schedule, remaining flexible to the needs of the families on your caseload.

Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked in a community environment and those with a recognised qualification in education, health or social care.

· Practiced in child protection, information sharing and the rules around data protection - you lead by example, drawing on your own professional experience and working within established guidelines.

• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person

During tis time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death. We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England. We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

Context of role:

The Clinical Supervisor at 2wish plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and resilience of staff by providing structured, reflective supervision. Working with colleagues who are regularly exposed to highly sensitive and traumatic situations, the supervisor offers a safe and confidential space to process experiences, explore emotional responses, and develop coping strategies. Through regular one-to-one and, where appropriate, group supervision sessions, the role helps ensure staff feel supported, maintain professional boundaries, and sustain their ability to deliver high-quality care.

The Clinical Supervisor also contributes to identifying themes or risks within the workforce, promoting a culture of wellbeing, and strengthening overall organisational support for staff.

Main duties:

• Provide regular, structured clinical supervision to a designated caseload of 2wish staff, in line with BACP ethical frameworks and best practice guidance
• Create and maintain a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to enable reflective practice and discussion of complex and traumatic casework
• Support staff to process the emotional impact of working with bereavement, trauma and crisis, promoting resilience and psychological wellbeing
• Ensure supervision practice upholds BACP principles, including confidentiality, professional boundaries, safeguarding and ethical decision-making
• Provide guidance on managing complex or high-risk cases, ensuring staff feel confident and supported in their roles
• Maintain clear, accurate and confidential supervision records in accordance with GDPR, organisational policies and professional standards
• Work collaboratively with line managers and senior leadership (while maintaining appropriate confidentiality) to ensure staff are effectively supported
• Escalate safeguarding concerns or significant wellbeing risks in line with organisational procedures and statutory requirements
• Identify themes, pressures or trends emerging across the staff team and contribute to organisational learning and service development
• Promote a trauma-informed, compassionate culture across the organisation, supporting the wellbeing of staff as a core priority
• Contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of supervision frameworks, policies and wellbeing initiatives

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agencynapproach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

The Partnerships Coordinator provides coordination, administrative and relationship support across corporate partnerships, event sponsorship and partner stewardship.

Working closely with the Partnerships Manager, the role supports activity across Wales and England, ensuring partner engagement is well organised, accurately recorded and followed up.

The postholder will work with fundraising, events, marketing and regional colleagues to support a joined-up approach to partnership delivery.

The role will involve travel across Wales and England, with some evening and weekend work required.

Key Responsibilities:

Partnerships Coordination and Delivery

• Support the Partnerships Manager to coordinate and deliver corporate partnership activity across Wales and England.
• Act as a point of contact for agreed corporate partners, sponsors and supporters, ensuring enquiries and actions are followed up promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate partner relationships, including communications, meetings, fundraising activity, sponsorship benefits and internal updates.

New Opportunities and Research

• Support the identification of new corporate partnership, sponsorship and partner fundraising opportunities.
• Research potential partners, local businesses, networks and sponsorship prospects aligned to 2wish’s work and values.
• Help develop external networks that support income growth, awareness and regional engagement.
• Prepare background information and draft materials for new business conversations led by the Partnerships Manager and Head of Fundraising.
• Track prospects, approaches, next steps and outcomes.

Event Sponsorship and Partner Activity

• Support the planning and delivery of sponsorship activity across 2wish events.
• Track and manage sponsor benefits, including acknowledgements, deadlines, logos, guest places, marketing requirements, payments and post-event follow-up.
• Work with the Events Coordinator and Marketing team to deliver sponsor activity effectively.
• Coordinate corporate partner involvement in events, including attendance, promotion, fundraising activity and supporter engagement.
• Support post-event stewardship, including thank-you communications, impact updates and renewal follow-up.

CRM, Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of corporate partners, prospects, sponsors, meetings, actions and income activity.
• Ensure all partnership activity is recorded consistently on the CRM and agreed internal systems.
• Monitor key timelines, including renewals, sponsorship deadlines, meetings, follow-up actions and reporting requirements.
• Support regular updates on partnership activity, pipeline progress, sponsorship status and key actions.
• Contribute to improving templates, processes and ways of working to ensure partnership activity is consistent and easy to manage.
• Share relevant updates with colleagues to ensure partnership activity is visible, coordinated and followed up.

Internal Collaboration

Role Description 

Volunteering Matters Brighter Futures CEC works with pupils (aged 12-18) who are care experienced or on the edge of care across the City of Edinburgh.

The project has two parts, one is to work one to one with the young people referred to the project, supporting them to experience a volunteering placement with local charitable organisations that will build their confidence and allow them to grow and learn new things in a different environment out with school.  

The second part is our group work, the Youth Engagement Manager will be responsible for up to 7 small groups within schools across Edinburgh.The Youth Engagement Manager supports the young people engaged in the groups to develop and deliver a Youth Social Action project within their community.

We’re looking for a patient and engaging Youth Engagement Manager to join the Brighter Futures team in Edinburgh.   The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values and strategy.  
   
 Due to the nature of this role and the needs of the young people we support, including the requirement to provide appropriate support and engagement for young males with complex experiences, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to be male under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Key Duties & Responsibilities   

• To build relationships with the young people, acting in a non-judgemental way to support them through their Brighter Futures journey.  

• Consistently role modelling and displaying Volunteering Matters organisational values   

• Deliver and develop the Brighter Futures Schools programme across the City of Edinburgh, meeting ambitious targets and milestones, ensuring all young people engaged achieve positive outcomes  

Develop and deliver our Social Action group work project in different schools across Edinburgh. 

• Work alongside staff form residential units, parents and carers to help support building a relationship with the young people referred to our one-to-one work  

• Build relationships with different high schools across area through both our group work and one to one program.

• To maintain excellent relationships with charity and not-for-profit partners in Edinburgh - ensuring diverse, high quality volunteer roles are available that reflect the needs and interests of young people. 

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, volunteers, families, school staff, social work, NHS, Education partners, third sector organisations and others.  

• Support the young people to complete awards and qualifications linked to their volunteering. 

• To manage all elements of a young persons experience, from referral to completion of their journey   

• To manage the risk assessment, safeguarding, quality assurance and audit processes as appropriate   

• Ensure monitoring, impact and evaluation information is collected and that Brighter Futures meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  

• Assist the Senior Project Manager by preparing Impact Reports   

• Administration tasks including maintaining effective and accessible records, the use of Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom and other software such as Canva

Skills / Knowledge Required   

• Excellent knowledge & understanding of the life challenges and issues that young people face in Scottish society including an understanding of “The Promise” as well as understanding of trauma informed practice.

•  An understanding of how to assess the needs of an individual using a person-centred approach  

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills including being able to have strategic conversations with partners and stakeholders one minute and talk to an anxious or unsure young people the next.  

• Excellent organisational skills including strong attention to detail, the ability to manage a busy workload, and prioritise effectively   

• Excellent IT skills including the use of Office 365, Microsoft Teams and other software packages including a CRM. 

• Ability to think on your feet, act quickly and respond to situations as well as demonstrate common sense and initiative.

Experience Required   

• Significant experience working directly with young people, specifically those who are care experienced or who face life challenges

• Experience developing strong working relationships, with a range of internal and external stakeholders   

• Experience of project management, achieving goals, managing a busy workload and working to deadlines

Relevant experience and values alignment is more important for this role than specific qualifications 

Location 

This role is based in Edinburgh, a large part of your hours will require you to work within the community and schools, for the other hours you will have the opportunity to work from home. The postholder will require good internet access to enable remote working, and a suitable home office space. I.T. equipment and infrastructure will be supplied.

About you

Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.

You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.

You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.

​Daisy Chain has launched Neuthread, a pioneering community sewing and social enterprise project that transforms reharvested fabrics and garments into high-quality, sustainable fashion. Alongside reducing textile waste, we create training, jobs, and meaningful work for autistic and neurodiverse people.

We are now seeking a skilled machinist to join our eco-manufacturing team. This is a fast-paced, production-focused role, working with a variety of textiles on industrial sewing machines and overlockers to produce garments and upcycled products with speed, accuracy, and a consistently high-quality finish.

You will work closely with the Lead Machinist, following agreed workflows and helping to deliver ambitious production targets in terms of both quality and quantity. As part of the team, you will:

• ​Ensure all items are completed on time, to specification, and to a consistently high finish.
• ​Support the smooth day-to-day running of the production line, including fabric selection, handling, and machine maintenance.
• ​Work collaboratively to build a positive, inclusive, and creative workshop culture that aligns with Neuthread’s sustainable brand ethos.
