• A successful track record in trusts fundraising including developing multi-year proposals for 5 and 6 figure gifts.
• An up-to-date knowledge of the trust fundraising landscape and a working knowledge of research sources and methodologies.
• Experience in effectively stewarding funder relationships.
• Excellent writing skills for delivering inspiring proposals and reports to a deadline.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join the Finance department and provide a first-class management accounting service across the Museum.

The Museum is undergoing an extraordinary transformation, as part of its long-term Masterplan. We have built a new state-of-the-art collection research centre near Reading, begun construction of a new Energy Centre, and appointed world-renowned architect Lina Ghotmeh to rejuvenate and redevelop our Western Range - accounting for over a third of our galleries.

This Management Accountant role will have a particular focus on the Masterplan's capital programme, and particularly the Energy Centre. The Energy Centre is an essential part of our journey to a net-zero carbon future. It introduces a modern, site-wide upgrade to our primary heating and electrical infrastructure.

This role will work very closely with the Estates and Capital Projects team preparing timely and accurate management accounts, analysis and forecasts for the capital programme, helping to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, such as preparing material for our consolidated financial statements and liaising with internal and external auditors, partnering with departments to deliver projects, and contributing to the Museum-wide budgeting process.

Key areas of responsibility

• Working with the management accountants and accounts processing team to provide best practice accounting, processing and reporting services to all Museum staff.
• Preparation of financial reports and forecasts.
• Preparation of material for the consolidated financial statements and liaise with the auditors.

School in a Bag Trading Ltd is the wholly owned trading subsidiary of the charity School in a Bag and all profits made by the company are given to the charity to support its work in providing rucksacks full of educational, hygiene, eating and drinking equipment to displaced, deprived and disadvantaged children across the world.

As a senior member of Hestia's operations team, your role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives. Strong communication skills are required, along with a high level of financial and commercial acumen. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of the legal framework for protecting vulnerable adults and children and understand the importance of outcome-focused service delivery. A solid grasp of safeguarding issues and the ability to respond appropriately is also necessary. Proficiency in administration and IT communication tools will support effective performance in this role.

Job Description: Fundraising Lead

The Fundraising Lead is both a new business development and relationship management role: you will proactively secure new, high-value philanthropic and corporate partnerships while managing and uplifting existing relationships with foundations, HNWIs, and private sector partners.

You will bring a strong sales and new business mindset, capable of inspiring and influencing senior decision-makers across sectors, while stewarding long-term, strategic partnerships. Working closely with the small but agile wider team and senior management, you will deliver against ambitious income targets, build a robust pipeline, and ensure Stop Ecocide International maximises its fundraising potential as momentum for ecocide law builds globally.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

1. Lead the identification, research, and development of a pipeline of new philanthropic, corporate, and HNWI prospects.

2. Cultivate and secure six and seven-figure partnerships across the private and philanthropic sectors.

3. Develop compelling, tailored propositions and pitches that inspire significant investment in SEI’s mission.

4. Use creativity and influence to engage prospects in new markets and sectors, positioning SEI as a partner of choice.

Account Management & Uplift

1. Manage and grow existing funder and partner relationships, ensuring excellent stewardship and maximising renewal, uplift, and multi-year commitments.

2. Deliver high-quality reporting, impact updates, and engagement opportunities for funders.

3. Build strong internal relationships to ensure funder deliverables are met and partners are inspired to deepen their support.
    

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration

1. Contribute to the development and delivery of SEI’s fundraising strategy, ensuring philanthropy is central to organisational growth.

2. Represent SEI at senior-level meetings, events, and networks to strengthen our external presence and relationships.

3. Work cross-organisationally, briefing and engaging colleagues and leadership in fundraising opportunities.

4. Promote an income-generation culture across the organisation, building confidence and ambition in fundraising.

Person Specification

Essential Experience & Skills

1. Demonstrable track record of securing six or seven-figure philanthropic or corporate partnerships.

2. Strong sales and new business experience, with proven ability to build and close a pipeline of high-value opportunities.

3. Experience in account management, with a focus on growing existing funder partnerships and securing uplift.

4. Excellent relationship-building skills with senior leaders, HNWIs, and corporate decision-makers.

5. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of turning complex ideas into compelling narratives.

6. Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resilient, with the ability to operate at pace and deliver results.

Desirable

• Knowledge of international systems change, governance, climate, environment & legal funding landscapes.

• Experience of working in both the private and not-for-profit sectors.

• Experience using CRM systems and tracking documents for pipeline management and reporting.

About the Role

As the sole HR lead, the People and Culture Manager will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle and contribute strategically to people initiatives. You'll work closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and external HR and payroll providers to deliver modern, inclusive, and effective HR practices.

This is a newly created role following a recent organisational restructure, designed to fill gaps and strengthen internal capability. You'll have the opportunity to shape the HR systems, policies, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll & Benefits: Manage payroll, liaise with providers, handle tax/pension submissions, and administer staff benefits.
• Recruitment & Lifecycle: Support recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, and maintain accurate HR records.
• Learning & Performance: Coordinate training, support performance management, and assist managers with HR policies.
• Systems & Technology: Maintain HR systems and explore tech solutions to improve processes.
• DE&I & Safeguarding: Lead DE&I strategy and support safeguarding responsibilities.
• Projects & Compliance: Drive HR projects, ensure legal compliance, and maintain policies and risk registers.
• Strategy & Budget: Contribute to people strategy, monitor KPIs, and manage HR budget.

About You

We're looking for someone with a proactive, tech-savvy mindset and a passion for modernising HR. You'll be confident working independently, with the ability to build processes, influence culture, and collaborate across remote teams.
