Responsibilities of our Shop Manager:

• To lead, manage, coach and develop a shop team of employees and volunteers to be the best they can be, maximising shop performance through the safe day-to-day operational management of shop activity
• To take ownership for the delivery of shop income, expenditure and operating profit budgets and other key measures of performance and activity as defined in the Retail Performance framework
• To support the work of Cats Protection, acting as brand ambassador, being a role model for the values and behaviours of the Charity, taking responsibility for shop operations and related people management.

• Each of our shops has its own charm and personality due to our dedicated volunteers and colleagues. From vintage jewellery and jigsaws to harps and handbags, whether our customers are looking for that 'must have' item or simply a 'missing piece'.

What we’re looking for in our Shop Manager:

• Demonstrable learning and experience from working in a relevant retail environment
• Previous experience of line managing a team and building a culture to achieve a collective goal
• Experience and/or understanding of working to sales targets and budgets
• Excellent organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong commercial awareness, balanced with an appreciation for the unique needs of the Charity

• The succesful candidate will be responsible for processing  and listing donations on the donated online hub  to maximize our donated online income stream

• You will work collaboratively with shop management and volunteers to deliver a robust operation and positive customer experience

• self-motivated with a flexible, positive, and resilient attitude.

• Cats Protection is launching its first Superstore format, offering customers an exciting destination for both fashion and home. With a significantly larger footprint than a traditional charity shop, the Superstore will provide an enhanced shopping experience, a wider product range, and greater opportunities to raise funds for cats and kittens in need. 

• As Assistant Shop Manager, you will support the successful day-to-day running of the Superstore, leading volunteers, driving stock generation, delivering excellent customer service, and deputising for the Shop Manager to help maximise sales and drive performance.

• Ability to motivate, support and manage a team of employees and volunteers.

• Competent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, email and retail systems.

Responsibilities of our Van Driver: 

• The Superstore Van Driver plays a key role in supporting the success of the Superstore by ensuring the safe, efficient and timely collection, delivery and movement of stock across the Cats Protection retail network. This includes transporting donated and purchased goods, furniture, electrical items and other bulky stock between customers, donors and stores.

What we’re looking for in our Van Driver: 

• Previous experience of driving a commercial vehicle (manual), driving in variable conditions and using Satellite Navigation equipment

• Experience of handling furniture, bulky items or retail stock and following manual handling guidelines

• Physically able to safely lift and move large donations in accordance with manual handling procedures and health and safety guidance.

• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple collections and deliveries efficiently.

• Hold a full valid UK driving licence and willing to drive Retail fleet vehicles including a Luton van (with tail lift)

• Flexibility to travel within the region as required

Responsibilities of our Senior Mid Value Officer: 

• This role will manage the development of the Cats Protection Mid Value Programme and associated mid value product. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of stewardship strategies for the conversion, retention and growth of mid value donors and build a pipeline for major giving to increase sustainable net income for Cats Protection. 

• The team manages a significant portfolio and has ambitious growth targets, and this role will play a key part in growing the number and overall value of supporters.

• Philanthropy and Partnerships are a dedicated and motivated team who all believe strongly in our mission and values. We have ambitious growth plans with a large focus on growing and diversifying our pipeline 

• We have a team of 21 

What we’re looking for in our Senior Mid Value Officer 

• Significant experience in related fundraising role(s), such as mid value, major donor, individual giving or direct marketing. Where primary experience is in one area, hands on experience and good understanding in the other is required.

• Demonstrable experience of developing strong long-term relationships with supporters & stakeholders 

• Experience of implementing supporter segmentation processes for database marketing purposes

• Proven track record of achieving income against agreed financial targets as well as other KPIs

• Experience of developing and managing donor engagement and cultivation plans and strategies

• Extensive proven experience of producing high quality and compelling appeals, proposals, reports and correspondence to inspire generous support
