About us 

The Ben Kinsella Trust is one of the UK’s leading anti-knife crime charities. We were set up following the tragic murder of 16-year-old Ben Kinsella in 2008, and everything we do is guided by his legacy. Our mission is to prevent knife crime through education and campaigning. 

Ben was a kind, creative young person who loved art, music, Arsenal FC, and making people laugh. He had big dreams of becoming a graphic designer. His death was a senseless act of violence, and the outpouring of grief and public support that followed marked the start of a movement. Ben’s own words, written shortly before his death, called for change, and his voice continues to inspire our work.  

Through immersive workshops in our Choices and Consequences Exhibitions and free online resources, we have reached over 50,000 young people so far. Our work challenges myths about knife crime, strengthens peer influence, and sparks meaningful conversations. As we grow, we remain committed to honouring Ben’s life by making a real, lasting difference to young people across the UK.  

We’re a small but growing team of 11 (rising to 14), working across Programmes, Fundraising, Communications, Finance and Operations, and Leadership. Our Programmes team is supported by a brilliant pool of freelance facilitators and actors who help bring our workshops to life. We’re now looking for an Evaluation Project Officer to join us at this exciting time. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about evidence-based interventions, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is confident working to establish and maintain relationships with external organisations.

About the Role 

We are looking for an education or youth work professional who can deliver our programmes to a very high standard. You will be a skilled facilitator and communicator who can engage with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Additionally, we are seeking someone who shares our values and is passionate about using education as a tool to support and empower young people and to stop knife crime. 

As Youth Programmes Officer you will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of our flagship knife crime prevention workshops to young people, to a high standard. You will work alongside the Programmes team to ensure workshops at our London exhibitions (currently Islington and Barking & Dagenham) operate smoothly and consistently to serve young people through the achievement of quality outcomes and maximised engagement. You will play a key part in the delivery of our Youth Ambassador Programme and contribute to the development of new programmes and opportunities during an exciting period of growth for the charity.  

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Delivery 

Deliver the Trust’s anti-knife crime workshops to Primary, Secondary, PRU, AP and adult groups, following a set curriculum whilst adapting to meet the needs of the group 
​​​​​Ensure the Trust’s programmes are delivered to a high standard and guided by the user experience by dealing with comments, feedback and complaint promptly and cascading changes and innovations to the wider delivery team. 

Programme design 

Ensure the Trust’s programmes are guided by user experience by collecting, inputting and analysing survey data and working with the operations team to influence programme design and innovation 
Contribute to the Trust’s continual development and assist with the development and delivery of new programmes, projects, and special events 

Workshop Coordination

Conduct the day-to-day, logistical coordination of workshops across two sites 
Act as a point of contact for enquiries and bookings, and ensure all pre-visit information is captured 
Proactively seek out and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders such as teachers and other practitioners 
Administer the Trust’s internal CRM and bookings systems to keep records accurate and up to date and generate reports as necessary 
Act as a point of contact for the freelance team of facilitators and actors, building positive relationships to coordinate the staffing of workshops across two sites, maintain staff retention and escalate issues promptly to the Head of Programmes 
Assist the Head of Programmes with training, induction and ongoing monitoring of freelance facilitators and actors

Experience & Qualifications  

Significant experience of delivering workshops, education, or training to diverse groups of young people in an informal setting 
Experience of delivering structured education programmes and suitably differentiating according to young people’s needs 
Experience of managing challenging behaviour and working with young people who have additional needs or SEN 
Experience of managing or coordinating multiple people and streams of work 
Experience of carrying out administrative duties, following processes and using a variety of online systems 
Experience of designing and creating learning resources and / or education programmes  
Experience of training adults (desirable) 
Optional/desirable: Formal qualification which recognises a broad skillset when educating and working with young people (e.g. qualified teacher, qualified youth worker or similar qualification)

About the role

As a CYP Caseworker you will:

• Deliver excellent services to Children and Young People who have been victims of crime through the direct provision of information, practical and emotional help from the point of crime and where appropriate, onwards throughout the criminal justice process.
• Help Children & Young People cope and recover from the effects of crime.
• Act as a single point of contact, undertaking effective need and risk assessments.
• Coordinate the overall delivery of the cope and recovery plan and recovery journey, working closely with other service providers to meet the needs of victims.

You will need:

• Previous experience delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
• Previous experience of working with vulnerable CYP.
• To be able to work without direct supervision, prioritising work and managing competing demands.
• The ability to complete needs and risk assessments.
• To demonstrate empathy.
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and Safeguarding principles.

About the Role:

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner you will be:

• Providing pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working within a multi-agency framework with a focus of keeping victims of domestic abuse safe.
• Working with survivors and other agencies to monitor the care pathway.

We are looking for a strategic, values-driven and analytical Systems Improvement & Learning Lead to strengthen the effectiveness, consistency and impact of domestic abuse services across London, ensuring meaningful safeguarding outcomes for victims and survivors.

This role is full-time and hybrid, with a minimum of one day per week in the office and occasional travel across London to engage with partners and services.

As a Systems Improvement & Learning Lead, you will be a senior leader within our Pan London Domestic Abuse Service, sitting on the Domestic Abuse Leadership Team and reporting to the Head of Service.

You will lead system improvement, learning and operational excellence across our London services, with a specific focus on MARAC practice and impact, high-risk harm and homicide prevention, learning from Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs), and equity, access and cultural competence.

This role combines strategic challenge with operational leadership. It requires credibility with frontline practitioners, confidence with senior leaders, and persistence where systems resist change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior point of contact for statutory and voluntary sector partners, providing constructive challenge and system leadership on safeguarding priorities.
• Lead pan-London continuous improvement activity, using data, frontline insight and review learning to drive consistency, quality and impact across services.
• Use system data, frontline insight and survivor narratives to identify risk, challenge ineffective practice and improve outcomes.
• Act as a credible senior partner to statutory and voluntary agencies, providing constructive challenge on safeguarding effectiveness.
• Analyse MARAC practice across London, identifying variation in thresholds, models, decision-making and follow-up, to drive meaningful improvement.

Main Purpose & Scope of the Role:

The HR Advisor will provide specialist and proactive support to other departments within the Charity to ensure organisational compliance in all relevant areas relating to HR.

Essential

• CIPD Level 5 qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

What you'll do:
* Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader / Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to lead IRMO’s Advice programme. As our Senior Advice Programme Manager, you’ll manage a dedicated team and oversee a range of initiatives that provide high-quality information and advice services to respond to the changing needs of our community.

The Advice programme provides trusted information, resources, advice and casework in Spanish and Portuguese on key areas of need, including immigration, welfare entitlements, housing and homelessness prevention. IRMO is accredited by the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) at Level 3. We are also members of Advice UK and receive second-tier support from Southwark Law Centre.

Alongside this, the programme works with local health boards to run initiatives designed to improve access to health services, such as HIV testing, sexual health and family planning advice and Chagas disease testing. You will also oversee IRMO’s Community Support service, which manages community enquiries daily at our Brixton centre and through our helpline, provides emergency crisis support and coordinates our Community Interpreting service, as well as connects service users with internal or external support.

The role

The Individual Giving team is responsible for driving growth and income sustainability across Individual Giving (one-off donations, Regular Giving, Lottery) In Memory Giving, Legacy Giving and Major Giving. This is an exciting role and it will suit somebody who enjoys working across our different fundraising products, with particular focus on one-off donations, Regular Giving and In Memory Giving. The role will focus on the acquisition and stewardship of donors, maintaining a fantastic donor journey for longer term engagement. The role holder will need to own and manage their workstreams, drawing on the expertise of other in-house teams from Marketing to Finance. The Active Wellbeing Society

The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society and cooperative working with communities to identify, mitigate and remove barriers that prevent them from living active and connected lives. 

 As part of our approach, we are excited to be working in partnership to develop a health connector service which will focus on improving health outcomes for people with severe mental illness.

We are working in collaboration with Primary Care Networks (PCN) and The Primary Care Mental Health Teams who are delivered as part of a partnership between Forward-Thinking Birmingham (FTB) and the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).

Job Purpose:

The Physical Health Connector will work within TAWS to support people experiencing mental health challenges, severe mental illness (SMI), and health inequalities to improve their physical health and wellbeing.

The role focuses on relationship based support, community engagement, and system navigation, helping people overcome barriers to accessing physical healthcare and wider support. The post holder will act as a trusted, nonclinical bridge between individuals, communities, and statutory services, particularly primary care. 

Requirements:

• Build trusting relationships with individuals through outreach, community presence and one-to-one telephone support (predominantly phone support from home), with people who are underserved or disengaged from statutory services.
• Educate through practical, emotional and motivational support using strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches to support engagement with physical health.
• Engage and encourage individuals to access physical health checks and screenings, helping them understand what to expect and how to prepare for appointments. Driving individuals towards attending their appointments is key to success.
• Identify and address barriers to engagement such as stigma, access issues or past negative experiences of healthcare. Over the phone, coordinate appointments, send reminders, follow up disengagement and advocate for reasonable adjustments and person-centred care.
• Drive stakeholder and partner organisation engagement as a link between TAWS, primary care, mental health services and community partners to support joined-up working. Build effective relationships with GP practices, PCNs, mental health teams and VCFSE organisations, representing the VCFSE perspective when required.
• Work collaboratively with partners to avoid duplication and champion community-led solutions. Map, promote and refer into local community assets and VCFSE services that support physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements for funders and partners. Share learning, insight and community feedback to support service improvement and evaluation.

Experience, Knowledge and Values:

1. Experience of working in a voluntary, community, faith, social enterprise (VCFSE), community or outreach setting is essential.
2. Experience of supporting people with mental health needs, including Serious Mental Illness (SMI), health inequalities or social exclusion is required, with experience of psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or addiction being desirable.
3. A sound understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice, with the ability to apply these approaches in day-to-day work.
4. Experience of working in connector, navigator, link worker, peer support or advocacy roles would be an advantage.
5. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience of engaging individuals through a range of methods including telephone (primarily), digital and face-to-face contact.
6. Ability to build trust with service users and develop effective professional relationships across health and community networks.
7. Good organisational and data management skills, with experience of maintaining accurate records and working towards agreed targets and KPIs.
8. Experience of using health or case management systems (such as Rio, SystmOne, EMIS or bespoke systems), alongside strong verbal, written and IT skills.
9. Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including primary care, mental health services and community partners.
10. Resilient, flexible and able to remain calm in challenging situations, including when working with individuals affected by substance misuse, offending behaviour or homelessness.
11. A proactive, adaptable approach to managing competing demands and complex needs.
