This role is a key member of a small staff team of the Girlguiding North West England Region Office which is led by the Executive Manager This role will contribute to identifying, applying for, and securing grant funding, as well as developing creative fundraising initiatives. The successful applicant must have excellent verbal, and written communication skills. They must be able to build positive relationships with staff and volunteers at all levels and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Earthwatch currently has an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising Officer to join our Income Generation team. You will provide operational support to the team, help maximise revenue and deliver impactful environmental programmes. You will research funding opportunities, write applications and support individual giving campaigns.

Role purpose: 

You will provide essential operational support to the Income Generation team, contributing to analytic, administrative, research, reporting, and stewardship tasks. You will assist with specific partnership development including working with funders and landowners. This role is key to helping Earthwatch maximise revenue and deliver impactful environmental programmes.

You will research funding opportunities, write applications, support individual giving campaigns, and maintain CRM records. Responsibilities 

Research & Proposal Writing 

• Conduct research into potential trusts and foundations and corporate partners, including horizon scanning reports. 

• Update databases with funding opportunities relevant to Earthwatch’s projects. 

• Assist in writing and proofreading funding proposals and applications, alongside the Trusts and Foundations Manager and the Business Development Manager.

• Independently write smaller bids and funding requests. 

Individual Giving & Partnerships 

• Support the Individual Giving Manager with campaigns including direct debits, one-off donations, marathon fundraising, and legacies. 

• Assist the Partnership Development Manager with research and building strategic relationships with local authorities and project sites. 

CRM & Administration 

• Maintain and update contact records in our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics 365). 

• Respond to emails in the Fundraising and Development inboxes. 

• Monitor and report on team progress against objectives and KPIs. 

• Provide general administrative support to the Income Generation team. 

Collaboration & Communication 

• Build strong relationships internally to understand Earthwatch’s work and articulate it in compelling cases for support. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure funder requirements are met. 

• Identify and promote stories and case studies that demonstrate impact.

Summary of the role:

The Income Generation Support Officer will provide day-to-day administrative departmental support and support to the department Director to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

About the Role:

1. Maintain and improve departmental filing systems to achieve maximum efficiency.
2. Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
3. Undertake small-scale project work including researching, analysing and recommending next steps.
4. Provide support to the IGM management team in responding to correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required.
5. Track Managers delivery of action points to ensure timeframes and outcomes are met, escalating to Head or Director of IGM for further action as appropriate.
6. Undertake full inbox and extensive diary management, ensuring an effective use of time and preparation of information in advance. Sort, redirect and action emails and review an effective ‘bring up’ system to brief and prepare the Director Income Generation and Marketing for meetings / events.

This role plays a key part in supporting the wider Action Tutoring team with HR and Safeguarding matters and sits within the Finance, HR and Operations Department, reporting to the Head of People and Culture.

Duties and responsibilities

Safer recruitment for staff and volunteer tutors

• Responsible for ensuring staff and volunteer tutor safer recruitment records and related checks are up date and complete.
• Collecting references and ensuring they meet our standard requirements. 
• Conducting ID calls for volunteer tutor DBS checks.
• Processing DBS checks and DBS update service checks.

Safeguarding

• Undertaking an initial triage of safeguarding concerns and incidents raised by members of the team and referring to senior staff as necessary. 
• Maintaining and overseeing the tutor safeguarding refresher training using a dashboard
• Compiling safeguarding data into termly reports for the team and board.

HR

• Supporting the Head of People and Culture with recruitment processes. This will include preparing paperwork relating to the selection process and offers of employment and following up with applicants and the hiring manager to ensure both sides have a quality hiring experience.
