Portsmouth Cathedral is seeking an experienced Finance Manager on a temporary contract. Working with our new Chief Finance Officer you will support the ongoing development of our accountancy systems and processes, building on the work of the previous Finance Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Banking & Transactions: Manage Cathedral bank and investment accounts, including BACS, cheques, international payments, and reconciliations.
- Accounting Systems: Maintain financial systems (currently Sage; may transition to Xero).
- Cash Handling: Oversee cash counting and deposits.
- Cash Flow & Reporting: Monitor cash flow and produce monthly reports for the COO and CFO.
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly accounts and review financial performance with department heads.
- Payroll: Process payroll for ~30 staff, including pensions and HMRC submissions.
- Staff Changes: Handle paperwork for new starters and leavers.
- Invoicing & Credit Control: Issue invoices, maintain credit ledger, and update CRM.
- Expenses & Transfers: Process staff reimbursements and internal transfers, including contactless income allocations.
- Reconciliations & Meetings: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and management accounts for leadership meetings.
- Budgeting: Support annual budget preparation and reforecasting with the COO and CFO.
- Year-End Accounts: Assist the CFO in producing end-of-year financial statements.
The successful candidate will hold a formal accountancy qualification and be:
- Experienced in a similar finance role, ideally in a small charity team.
- Empathetic with the beliefs and values of the Christian faith and the aims and objectives of Portsmouth Cathedral.
- Proficient in Sage, Xero, and Microsoft 365.
- Skilled in management accounting, reporting, and payroll processing.
- A flexible team player, able to cover other finance tasks as needed and have experience of working with volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
The Keyworker will report directly to the Specialist Support Manager and will play a critical role in maintaining the effective running of Treasures Foundation’s supported housing. The core responsibilities include:
Beneficiary support

JOB SUMMARY:
The Programme Manager is a key role in the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s isle of Ireland team. This post is responsible for managing an exciting new cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programme Body (SEUPB) PEACEPLUS programme https://www.seupb.eu/
The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will:
§ Establish and develop our new PEACE Academy Programme in partnership with Glentoran FC and Sligo Rovers FC together with a network of grass-root partners, as well as community policing and other strategic stakeholders.
§ Line manage a new programme staff team including 2x Regional Coordinators, a part time Training Lead, part time Monitoring Officer, a part time Admin Officer and a part time Finance Officer as well as sessional staff.
§ Lead and manage a three-year cross border and cross community youth and community development programme engaging Catholic / Nationalist / Republican (CNR), Protestant/ Unionist/ Loyalist (PUL), and newcomer communities.
§ Oversee the development of sessions which utilise youth culture as a platform for personal development, working with your staff team to design, deliver and manage engaging sessions and opportunities utilising music and the creative arts, sport, and digital media.
§ Develop, and oversee the delivery of our youth development pathway across both regions, including twice weekly sessions, workshops, seminars and accredited training pathways, mentoring, cross-border events and initiatives, careers events and pathways with a range of commercial partners, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
§ Quality assure the delivery of sessions and outputs linked to the personal development of young people.
§ Encourage and support the involvement of volunteers from the local community.
§ Develop positive relationships with key strategic partners involved in the project and ensure links are made and information shared with appropriate agencies.
§ Work closely with our CEO and Director for Ireland & Northern Ireland on the strategic positioning and development of the Foundation and the legacy of the PEACE Academy programme.
§ Work with our Director of Operations to establish and implement a robust monitoring, evaluation and learning framework for the programme with key data capture tools in place from the outset.
§ Be responsible for the delivery of specified targets for the programme through producing regular action plans and work programmes, ensuring that all project planning, monitoring, and evaluation procedures are implemented and adhered to.
§ Ensure all monitoring data is captured and recorded against targets ensuring funder reports are produced and meetings attended as and when required.
§ Ensure all administrative and financial functions of the programme are conducted in accordance with funder requirements
§ Work with our Directors on the financial and wider reporting of the programme as required by our funder.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
§ Relevant academic/industry qualifications: e.g. Project Management, Youth Work, Certificate in Community Sports Work (CCSW), Arts Practitioner, etc.

What you'll do:
As the Service Manager you will be required to successfully apply for CQC registration for regulated activity and/or registered services within 6 months of appointment. Key Responsibilities:
The Training Centre Assistant Manager will be responsible for understanding and actively monitoring all contractual and other relevant compliance requirements of all trainee funded placements. You will also be required to act as lead on the development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure these contractual requirements are met and recorded. This will include developing guidance materials and delivering training as required in order to support the HTC team. You will oversee operational monitoring of expenditure and income against the agreed set HTC budget and provide regular reporting on financial performance.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
- A passion for developing and delivering transformative training programmes, with strong previous experience of having worked successfully in a similar role supporting the learning of adults with additional support needs.
- Strong previous experience of successfully delivering training programmes ensuring all contractual requirements are fully met.
- A strong understanding of adult social care funding streams, with demonstrable strong ability to monitor expenditure against budgets, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting as required.
