This new position is a response to the increasing focus on events as a key part of our fundraising and stewardship strategy. Our flagship Annual Dinner is our main fundraiser; last year we smashed our targets and raised over £2m. With this added post in our team we are confident that we can not only replicate but increase that growth. This role will take responsibility for all UK events, and resulting relationships with a small portfolio of major donors.   

When thinking about the profile of individuals who would be well suited to this role and who will help bring our events and donor stewardship in the UK to the next level, it is likely you will have consolidated events experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing some funds, ideally through relationship-driven fundraising activity.

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

Purpose of Post

• Ensuring the delivery and development of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.
• Provide management support to Café and Helpline Coordinators and support the Crisis Manager in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred, as well as supporting the implementation of strategic service plans.
• Provide emotional support, advice, signposting, assessing risk, support planning for clients in mental health crisis often where risks are significant.
• Overseeing and ensuring the delivery of appropriate needs and risk assessments and support planning for clients.
• Liaison with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained.
• Ensuring staff and volunteers feel supported, safe, trusted and valued and excel in their roles.

Role Requirements

• Provide high quality, evidence-based music therapy provision for children and young people, in partnership with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team.
• Undertake Psychosocial Assessments to assess the holistic needs of CYPF.
• Undertake specialist music therapy assessments of children with highly complex needs, e.g. co-occurring needs, through standardised and non-standardised assessments and clinical observations.
• Chair internal meetings to gain shared understandings of the presenting issues and intervention plans for CYPF.
• Attend and contribute to Multidisciplinary Team meetings, to discuss individual children/ young people and service in general, as required e.g. reviews, case conferences, clinics, etc.
• Promote collaborative working relationships through effective communication.

The Role

This is a key role within Revitalise Trust, to help meet our fundraising targets by effectively managing a UK portfolio of existing donors and sourcing and securing new ones. About the Role

As Employer Engagement Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Develop and Manage Partnerships

• Build and nurture relationships with employers and stakeholders to develop ringfenced and exclusive job opportunities for care-experienced young people.
• Represent DFF at external networking events and local borough employment and skills initiatives.
• Ensure all partners understand the unique challenges faced by care-experienced young people and the benefits of inclusive hiring.

Recruitment & Opportunity Management

• Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for both young people and employers, including a final CV’s and cover letter review (our Career Specialists will have developed these with the young people), occasional interview preparation, and feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of opportunities and outcomes using Salesforce (daily updates required).
• Deliver monthly reports and feed into quarterly funder and trustee updates.

Collaboration & Internal Engagement

• Facilitate weekly sessions with the Careers Team to ensure alignment on opportunities.
• Use data, focus groups, and staff insights to guide strategic recruitment activities.

Training & Awareness

• Deliver training to partners who are recruiting care-experienced young people to facilitate successful and sustained employment.
• Ensure every young person hired has access to a trained workplace buddy or mentor.

Impact & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor labour market changes and share insights at team meetings.
• Aim to increase the percentage of care-experienced young people placed into exclusive partner roles.
• Provide real-life success stories and case studies for communication purposes.

About You

As Employer Engagement Manager, you will have experience in a similar role, ideally working with corporate clients or within a recruitment/employer engagement capacity.

With proven ability to meet or exceed targets in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment, you will be a confident communicator, able to present effectively to stakeholders and promote DFF’s services. You will have strong organisational and project management skills and proficiency in using CRM systems such as Salesforce.

United for Global Mental Health is dedicated to creating a world that enables good mental health for all. We draw on our expertise in policy, advocacy, and financing to work with organisations who share our commitment to driving mental health up the political agenda - and securing additional funding for mental health at national and global level. We founded and act as the secretariat for the Global Mental Health Action Network, an open coalition of mental health professionals of over 6,000 individuals and organisations across 133 countries. 

About you 

Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, with experience in content planning, social media content creation and management, newsletter copywriting, website management, and graphic design. They should be well-versed in crafting narratives for a variety of audiences and outputs, and managing an organisational communications calendar.

The role 

Key components of the role include: 

1. Social media content development - collaborate with internal subject specialists to produce consistent and frequent on-brand written and visual content for social channels, in support of brand and advocacy goals. You’ll use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and AgoraPulse for this. 

2. Content briefing - craft high-quality creative briefs (for copy, design, multimedia) to be followed by internal staff or external suppliers where required.

3. Email - develop, write and send UnitedGMH’s regular email newsletter, working with internal staff to source news, updates and relevant content tailored for email subscribers.

4. Website development - develop, maintain and update content for UnitedGMH and GMHAN websites, including uploading content and editing pages.

5. Video and audio production: Develop consistent, platform-appropriate video and audio content streams, from short-form videos to the creation of new podcasts.

6. Social media channel and community management - lead on day-to-day management and posting on UnitedGMH and GMHAN social media channels, including X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram. Manage paid social campaigns where required. Use monitoring tools to manage social media comments (organic and paid), as well as newsletter email replies.

7. Brand guardian: Be a firm steward of UnitedGMH and GMHAN brands, helping to ensure consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all external organisational outputs, maintaining high standards of design.

8. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting - create regular analytic reports for social and email channels with data-driven recommendations as to how outputs can be continuously improved. 

9. Editorial planning and communications calendar management - lead on the maintenance, updating and adjusting of the organisation’s communications calendar, to drive consistent, planned-in-advance content across channels in support of brand building and key advocacy moments. 

10. Team support - support the communications team through project management, meeting management, processing supplier invoices, keeping journalist lists up-to-date, and other responsibilities where needed. 

Requirements 

• Understanding, and experience in use, of online channels (incl. website content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress and Squarespace, a broad spectrum of social media platforms and email marketing through Mailchimp) 

• An excellent copywriter, with demonstrable experience crafting copy for different audiences - including for social media and email newsletters

• Strong research and proofreading skills, adapted to key audiences

• Comfortable prioritising and delivering on multiple pieces of work against tight timeframes

• Highly organised individual with experience of team administration support 

• A “doer”- ability to anticipate requirements and act to provide workable solutions with limited budget 

• A good knowledge of CRM systems.

• An understanding of using digital project management tools e.g. Trello

• An interest in mental health, advocacy and international development

• Strong relationship management skills

• Willingness to travel at least twice per annum and more if required

Desirable 

• Experience working in an advocacy / international NGO environment within a fast-paced globally distributed staff team

Details of Job

The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. They will also communicate our work to external audiences to drive the participation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in our programmes and attract potential funding from corporates, grant-makers, and government bodies.

The post holder will work with the programme team to manage a calendar of online and in-person events and oversee the event process from beginning to end. The post holder will manage ticketing platforms, oversee event budgets and logistics and create event briefings to ensure alignment between external speakers and team members. This will include overseeing the set-up of IT and technology to ensure smooth event delivery and acting as a main contact point for external event partners.
