We’re looking for a passionate and driven HR professional to play a pivotal role in delivering our ambitious HR strategy and supporting the growth of our Federation.

In this high-impact, operational role, you’ll work closely with senior leaders to drive forward key business and HR initiatives.

From resourcing and employee relations to learning and development, you’ll provide expert guidance and hands-on support that empowers our management teams to thrive. You’ll be at the heart of our people strategy, leading on complex casework, championing best practices and ensuring our academies are supported with regular on-site visits.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing professional and customer-focussed HR leadership, advice and support to academies to enable leaders to improve and support staff engagement, tackle workforce priorities, maximise workforce efficiency and achieve academy people objectives
• Influencing and supporting the strategic direction of academies by providing and analysing workforce information and developing HR initiatives to respond to needs or example, developing effective retention plans, improving sickness absence and reducing agency expenditure
• Coaching, supporting and mentoring senior leaders on people management practices, issues and priorities, through development of close working relationships and understanding of business challenges and opportunities
• Providing expert advice to managers in highly complex employee relations cases on the interpretation and implementation of the Federation employment procedures within the context of the legal framework
• Retaining oversight of casework, and line managing an HR advisor in the management of specific ER cases

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Experience in a HR Business Partner or senior HR advisor role within a large complex organisation
• Experience of developing and delivery of strategic HR plans and initiatives
• Previous experience of managing complex Employee relations issues, change management, and restructuring
• Experience of supervising staff
• Educated to masters level in HR Management or equivalent level of experience of working in an HR role
• A CIPD qualification to Associate level or above

Contract Terms & Role Evolution: This role is initially offered on a one-year contract, with the intention of securing funding to establish a permanent position. As The Gap Wales continues to grow, the responsibilities of this role may evolve in response to organisational needs.

Job Purpose:

The Data & Administrative Officer - with Reception & Support Services duties will be responsible for managing reception duties, administrative coordination, service-user data handling, and frontline support. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of The Gap Wales and creating a welcoming environment for asylum seekers, refugees, and other service users.

Organisational Context:

The Gap Wales is committed to supporting asylum seekers and refugees in Newport, offering structured advocacy, integration programmes, and community-led initiatives. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Reception & Frontline Support:

• Serve as the first point of contact, greeting visitors and handling enquiries in person, via phone, and email.

We're seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Consultant to join a nationally acclaimed HR Services team that provides strategic and practical HR consultancy to schools and academies. This a permanent role, based in Manchester, with two days office presence required, either at HQ or travelling to schools in the local area.

Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. South London Citizens 

South London Citizens (SLC) is Citizen’s UK second oldest chapter, established in 2004. SLC has over 100 member institutions spread across seven south London boroughs, working together for the common good.

South London Citizens has developed 1000s of local leaders through training and action teams and won big national campaigns, for example delivering free school meals for children whose parents have no recourse to public funds.

The Living Wage campaign is part of SLC’s DNA and in the last 12 months a campaign to bring the Living Wage Campaign to the Southbank has delivered well over 1000 pay rises to south London workers. The Real Living Wage is currently £13.85 in London, compared with the National Minium Wage of £12.21 (for workers aged over 21).

Community Organising

Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations. 

Purpose 

The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. They work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing their experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change. 

This role is particularly to organise around the issue of low pay and precarious work and participate in Citizens UK’s flagship campaign, the Living Wage Campaign. We need someone who can speak Spanish as well as English, as south London’s Latin American communities are leading the work in South London. There is scope to involve leaders in campaigns around housing, health and migrants' rights, as we recognise that people affected by low pay are very often determined to take action on wider issues beyond work.     The purpose of the role is to develop leadership, especially grassroots leadership, workers from London’s lowest paid sectors, that can power the campaign. Crucially the Associate Organiser will work with colleagues in South London Citizens to build and execute a strategy that develops powerful leaders for South London Citizens and wins the Living Wage, Living Hours and other material gains for thousands of workers across the capital.

Main Responsibilities 

Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK, reporting to the Lead Organiser, South West, SLC, your main responsibilities will include: 

Build relational power to further the goals of CUK 

• Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment 

• Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required 

• Conduct one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns. 

• Tell a wide range of Community Organising stories effectively to influence others and achieve CUK’s goals 

Identify and develop relational leaders prepared to act with others for the common good

• Proactively create opportunities for leaders to develop, in particular tertiary or new leaders; nominate for training on the core taster curriculum

  Our Organisers and some project teams work closely with our member institutions and will be expected to attend member events that take place in the evenings and occasional weekends. We operate a Time Off in Lieu approach and have very flexible working arrangements to ensure a good work-life balance. 

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check. DBS checks are renewed on a 3-year cycle.

About the Role

The weekend Studio Assistant supports visitor engagement in the Studio and Ground Floor Gallery at Modern Art Oxford. You will create a safe and friendly welcome, to support a lively, social atmosphere within the Studio which plays a significant role in building lasting relationships with visitors and families. The Studio Assistant will encourage reflective conversations with visitors as they arrive, providing context for the space and resources by demonstrating their use with the prompts provided. This is a practical role, and you are encouraged to develop your own creative skills while keeping the space tidy and presentable throughout the day.

Families with young children regularly use the space to play and visitors of all ages enjoy spending time in the studio to experiment with the materials provided. Modern Art Oxford invites the practical use of this space to anyone who will benefit from having access to a studio like atmosphere. The studio is a shared space which is open to the public throughout the week and weekends and is also home to our regular projects Make Play and Young Creatives, as well as holiday workshops, short courses and evening classes which take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Please note: This role offers weekend hours only, with additional opportunities to assist other programme activities with the Communities, Practice & Participation team as appropriate.

Duties

• Facilitate activities in our Studio on Saturdays and Sundays, utilising the materials provided. 
• Encourage visitors to take part in the current programme activities and upcoming events. 
• Support Modern Art Oxford Producers with delivery of weekend workshops. 
• Maintain accurate records on attendance..
• Set up and pack down workshop activities with the guidance of producers. 
• Engage families with Activity Backpacks, maintain materials, and record feedback. 

Responsibilities

• Assist all visitors in accordance with MAO’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy 
• Ensure the Ground Floor Gallery and Studio are kept clean and tidy throughout the day. 
• Encourage visitor feedback via comments cards and surveys, alert the Duty Manager of any complaints.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

You will be joining us at our busiest time, and will have day to day logistical and administration responsibilities with focus on supporting applicants through the selection stages of our programme, Approach Social Work.

You will work with the Selection team and share responsibilities between other Selection Coordinators to ensure the delivery of a highly effective and efficient recruitment process and to ensure the candidate experience is positive throughout. This role would suit someone who has had some experience interacting with customers, for example in admin support, retail, hospitality, customer service, or similar.
