The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Fundraising Manager to lead and coordinate fundraising efforts across the charity. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, being creative with fundraising ideas, and supporting others to reach their potential.

The Fundraising Manager will:

• Lead central fundraising initiatives – from online raffles, charity dinners, and quizzes to innovative campaigns like our Make a Smile Lottery.

• Manage online fundraising platforms (EasyFundraising and People’s Fundraising), ensuring they’re up to date and well-utilised across the charity.

• Collaborate with our Media Team to promote fundraising activities through engaging social media campaigns (e.g., “Fundraising Friday”).

• Oversee the Gaming Subcommittee, helping volunteers plan gaming socials and fundraisers.

• Build partnerships with organisations, including community groups, supermarkets, and themed organisations like Star Wars Garrisons, to run events and access grant schemes.

• Track and monitor progress, ensuring that both central and chapter-level fundraising goals are met.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people right across the UK, allowing them to access a peer mentor who is of a similar age to them and somebody that they feel more comfortable speaking with.

About the role

AHO Head of Fundraising (unpaid, Volunteer role)

Responsibilities and Duties

The Volunteer Head of Fundraising assists the Director of Fundraising in developing and implementing a comprehensive multi-year funding strategy that encompasses diverse income streams, working collaboratively with senior leadership to coordinate efforts and maintain an up-to-date funding pipeline. 

The Volunteer Grants Head assists the Director of Fundraising to:

• Develop and drive a multi-year fundraising strategy to support the organisation's growth ambitions.  To include a mix of both existing and new income streams and the resources needed to reach the goals.
• Work with the CEO, Director of Fundraising, and Grant Managers to implement the strategy in a coordinated and effective way.
• Create and maintain the fundraising pipeline, keeping it up to date in the CRM, in collaboration with other Volunteers and staff members.
• Lead on fortnightly Business Development meetings to keep everyone aligned and updated.
• Lead the development of new income streams, including government procurement opportunities and individual donations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment between income generation and programme delivery.

Who are Literacy Pirates?   

Through our term-long after-school programmes, we develop the literacy, confidence and perseverance of children aged 9-13 who are falling behind in school and have fewer opportunities in their personal lives, so that they can succeed at school and beyond.  

Children join us on our Virtual Ship once a week to practise their reading and writing. By welcoming them into our joyful spaces, publishing their work in the real world, and celebrating everything they do, we develop their literacy, confidence and perseverance.  

What does a Volunteer do?  

As a Volunteer Crewmate, your role is to join our online sessions and help children practise their reading and writing in small groups by providing constant encouragement, positivity and celebration of their achievements.

Sessions are led and managed by staff, which means your time is solely focused on supporting the children in breakout rooms.

You will:  

• Receive full training.

• Gain experience working with children and leading small groups online.

• Develop your communication, leadership, problem-solving and digital skills.

• Take part in games and have fun. 

• Be invited to virtual celebration events with the children to see the difference that you’ve made.  

We offer employment references, for volunteers who have fulfilled their commitment of 12 sessions with us. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for 2 skilled grant writer volunteers who can take the lead in researching appropriate funds and writing grant bids to help us continue offering our support services and resources and helping us create new programmes and services to support patients and their families who have been affected by a poorly understood chronic condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

As our Grant Writer you will be responsible for identifying appropriate grant opportunities, and managing the grant development and proposal process from research to submitting grant applications with any supporting documents.

As our grant writer, you will:

• Identify appropriate sources of funding where we fit their criteria 
• Write appropriately tailored grant/funding bids that meet funders’ interests and requirements and to write any additional documents in support of funding bids

Team. The position includes reaching out to a global network of volunteers and help to inspire

and grow a worldwide movement.

This position provides global training and global connections from your home, at your

convenience. Our At-Home Volunteers come from around the world and form online teams

essential to our Children’s Homes and Community Centers.

Volunteering in this division provides a great opportunity to further your understanding of the

fascinating world of international non-profit online outreach, boost your CV, and to enhance

social media and public relations skills as you reach out to volunteers through a multitude of

mediums.

Please note this is a volunteering position.

● Involvement in evening reading and study programs.

● Management, design, and implementation of community-led projects.

�� Online Tasks Include, but Not Limited to

● Budgeting and finance.

● Donor relations and sponsorships.

● Social media campaigns and fundraising.

● Website development.

● Recruitment.

�� Essential Requirements

● Confidence in English (spoken and written).

● Passion for international development, emphasizing universal education.

● Requires a college diploma or university degree.

● Minimum commitment of four months, with an option to extend up to a year.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supporting the project manager in delivering our aMAZIng Meal Box Service. – Ensuring the kitchen is well managed & food hygiene standards are met – Communicating with volunteer groups
• Assisting with the training of new volunteers to meet in house standards
• Uphold the mission and values of The MAZI Project!

Who is The MAZI Project?

We are a Bristol based charity empowering marginalized 16 – 25 year olds through food. We support care leavers, young asylum seekers, youth recovering from homelessness and fleeing domestic violence.

We do this by:

1. Feeding young people great local and nutritious food with our aMAZIng meal kits 2) Building connections within Bristol’s food scene
2. Hosting aMAZIng events to create a community and togetherness
3. Build young people’s confidence, practical skills and food independence
