Role overview
The Partnership Manager will oversee and deliver account management across our mentoring partnership portfolio. This role involves managing the partner experience across a range of sectors, including higher education, the third sector, schools and corporate partnerships. The post-holder will be responsible for onboarding new partners, supporting them in developing their yearly mentoring plans, engaging in regular communications to ensure we’re on track with our deliverables, and renewing contracts annually. Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators such as partner satisfaction, partner engagement and meeting renewal income targets.
Key responsibilities
- Onboard new partners and welcoming them to Brightside
- Complete annual mentoring project plans with all partners
- Provide account management for partners to ensure a positive experience
- Coordinate our partner engagement work (such as our partner forums and the partner satisfaction survey)
- Meet regularly with partners to monitor project deliverables and ensure we meet and surpass expectations
- Lead critical partnership meetings, including planning meetings, mid-point reviews and end of contract reviews
- Lead contracting and renewal discussions with partners to achieve renewal income targets
- Manage partner contracts and invoicing
- Lead the recruitment function for our London based mentoring project, working with schools to promote the opportunity to young people
- Create and monitor renewals strategies for each partner
- Identify opportunities for upsells across the portfolio
- Work with partners to identify their critical success factors, and work with the delivery team to realise these
- Maintain our stakeholder register, to ensure we have the right relationships across the portfolio and the Brightside team
- Collaborate with the Senior Programme Manager to manage our approach to risk across the portfolio

QAC is a charity that runs a college, supported living (known as Independence Plus) and community services for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The College has been at its current location since 1903. Our original purpose was to provide education for young people who were blind or visually impaired. Today, in addition to supporting people who have a visual impairment, we offer education, support and guidance for students on the autism spectrum, those with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and students with physical and other disabilities. We have a large, skilled and diverse staff team who can meet a diverse range of student needs. As QAC has grown, we now have new educational and learning sites. As well as the more well-known campus in Harborne, there is the QAC Pinewood campus (dedicated to employment progression) in nearby Woodgate valley and in addition, QAC Umberslade campus (dedicated to horticulture and outdoor learning), in nearby Selly Oak. QAC offers a broad range of study programmes that are tailored to ensure each student receives the educational, therapeutic and support services that they require, helping them achieve their aspirations for adult life.
Our supported living programmes (Independent Plus) and Community Services offers support after leaving college and to those from within the local community. The marketing and communications team is responsible for marketing QAC services with the main focus being on student recruitment. Following a recent re-brand, the post holder will also be integral in ensuring an efficient and effective roll out of the new branding.
QAC also has an enterprise arm consisting of Sight Village (a touring exhibition supporting those with sight loss), All Formats (a transcription service) and Carbon Fibre Canes. These are all supported by the Marketing and Communications Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public affairs manager looking to progress their career in a high-profile charity. You will manage the Policy and Public Affairs team in Northern Ireland and lead the delivery of evidence-based and carer-led public affairs, campaigning, media and research activity across Northern Ireland.
With your team you will lead on a wide range of activity including Carers NI’s policy, research and campaigning work; as well as being responsible for the delivery of awareness campaigns like Carers Week and Carers Rights Day; fronting media and social media activity and representing the charity at the highest level of decision-making in Northern Ireland.

The position:

Hours:
This is a temporary 12 month maternity cover, full-time position over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.
Who you are:
Volunteers will be your passion. You’ll have a deep understanding of the importance of this kind of supporter and how to best steward their specific experience and manage their unique needs. You'll understand how to best manage and recruit volunteers, mobilising our UK wide network effectively both remotely and on the ground in order to create change. You’ll know how to best communicate and engage with them in order to make the most out of their time and efforts. The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to information law, intellectual property, contracts, procurement, trusts, charity, litigation, insolvency, subsidy and state aid, public law and judicial review.
In addition to providing substantive advice, the role requires a Senior Solicitor to be able to research and upskill on new areas of law quickly. Further, it is expected that the Senior Solicitor will use his or her legal knowledge to improve the Fund’s internal processes and precedents, and ensure that the Fund complies with statutory and regulatory frameworks at all times.
The bulk of the Senior Solicitor’s workload will consist of autonomous matters and legal queries. These will need to be answered in a timely manner. Further, the Senior Solicitor will also work on larger scale projects where the opportunity arises.
The Senior Solicitor will be working in a team of 6 within the AID team and 14 within the wider legal team. The role does not include any line management responsibilities.
Experience working in a fast paced in-house or private practice environment would be ideal, as would experience dealing with a range of clients, and experience with public law or public bodies. Knowledge of subsidy law and/or procurement law would be beneficial, as would experience gained in the UK.

Location: We have a hybrid approach to working, work pattern and location will be agreed with the successful candidate. The role can be based at any of our UK offices, these are Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Newtown.
Essential criteria
- UK/ Australia/ New Zealand qualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent
- At least five years’ relevant experience in private practice or in-house Legal in a medium/large sized organisation
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and good drafting skills
- Good communication and client management skills
- Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities with good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to quickly grasp new legal concepts
Desirable criteria
- Experience or knowledge of public, subsidy and procurement law
