What we offer and what we ask of you
As an associate, you will be involved in the delivery of aspects of the Board Development programme including our well led and effectiveness reviews. You will work with, and collaborate with, a group of talented fellow associates with a varied range of skills and capabilities, as well as board experience, NHS experience, coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills. Your responsibilities will include delivering dynamic training sessions using pre-prepared materials; delivery could be online or face to face. On occasion you will also be required to utilise your skills and experience to support the development and maintenance of new and existing training session materials. This role requires a passionate individual with a strong background in system thinking and a proven track record of facilitating engaging and impactful training sessions.
We will support you by offering you commissioned pieces of work on a daily rate, either to help scope and deliver bespoke board development work with NHS trusts and other system partners, or to help us deliver our open courses, where we will be proactive in confirming the agenda and briefing you on content. We ask all of our associates to sign an associate contract which means we can approach you with offers of work over the course of the year. We will ensure you have sufficient information about the trusts, and other clients, that you will be working with. When appropriate, we will provide you with training opportunities to support your facilitation of training sessions.
Description of the associate role
We are looking for system thinking specialists to join our associate pool. We are looking for individuals with a mixture of experience including:
- Significant experience of working at board level.
- Experience delivering board level development of system thinking.
- Experience assisting boards to work in an integrated way across organisations and boundaries.
- Ability to translate theory into practical insights and case studies from both the NHS and other sectors.
- Significant facilitation experience.
- Proactive approach to building and maintaining effective client relationships, including excellent levels of communication.

Desirable experience and skills include:

SOHK is at a new and exciting stage of development. OVERVIEW
The Trusts & Foundations Manager will play a central role in shaping SOHK’s future growth. They will lead on major grant applications, support targeted bids aligned with regional delivery, and manage relationships with existing charitable funders.
Around one-third of SOHK’s £1.5 million income currently comes from grants, with active partnerships including major funders such as the Garfield Weston Foundation and Impetus. Sustaining and growing this income will require proactive research, strategic outreach, and a highly organised, detail-focused approach to both applications and stewardship.
The role works closely with the CEO, who is committed to leveraging their time and networks to support fundraising success. The post-holder will also collaborate with Regional Directors and other fundraising colleagues, while enjoying a high level of autonomy and contributing to the long-term direction of SOHK’s Trusts & Foundations strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and submit high-quality funding proposals, including applications for six-figure and multi-year grants, by meeting appropriate deadlines and tailoring applications so they appeal to different funder priorities
- Manage and develop a strong pipeline of Trust & Foundations funders for future years, including researching and prospecting new leads through active outreach
- Work with the CEO, Regional Directors and overall fundraising team to identify key funding priorities and strategically deploying the capacity available
- Develop and keep the fundraising CRM updated as a central source of trusts and foundations knowledge, clearly identifying funding gaps and adjusting targets
- Strengthen existing funding partnerships through warm stewardship and efficient grant reporting, maximising the charity’s chances of repeat funding
- Build upon the organisational strategy for scaling trusts & foundations income
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Demonstrable track record in leading on successful medium and major grant applications, including six-figure and multi-year grants
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to present a compelling case for support to a variety of funders
- Comfortable in understanding and presenting financial information and in creating budgets for grant applications
- Experience with CRM/fundraising databases for tracking applications, deadlines, and relationship management
- Highly organised and proactive, used to taking the lead on managing a large volume of potential grants in line with the submission dates
- Confident in liaising and engaging with external organisations, including building new relationships with potential funders who are invite-only
- Enjoy working across different teams within an organisation, bringing in new perspectives and utilising the assets and expertise of current staff for fundraising purposes

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
- Salary range: £37,000 - £40,000

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.
The evaluation team designs and implements the processes which assess the evidence for the fund’s various funding rounds. The team is also responsible for assessing, appointing, monitoring and the quality assurance of complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.
As an integral member of our evaluation team, you will be part of making sure we make the best decisions about what we fund, design and execute the evaluations to learn from it about what works to prevent youth violence.
Key Responsibilities
The core of your job is to ensure that we commission and deliver high-quality evaluations so that we can find out the very best ways to prevent young people and children from becoming involved in violence.
As an Evaluation Manager, you will:
· Support the evaluation team to design and implement the processes for assessing the quality of evidence underpinning applications organisations make for funding.
· Provide recommendations on which applications should be approved for funding based on your assessment.
· Choose the best evaluation partner for each project.
· Lead the development of the evaluation design with grantees and evaluators.
· Review regular monitoring reports from evaluators and provide approval for payments, making sure their milestones are effectively achieved, and the work stays on budget.
· Serve as the main point of contact for the evaluation partner, providing a rigorous review and feedback on the report and ensuring that it is an accurate reflection of the learnings from the project.
· Support the evaluation team in the development of the principles and protocols we need to deliver robust and respected evaluations.

· Experience of commissioning evaluation or designing your own research: This includes managing research and analysis from external contractors. Experience designing and carrying out your own research would be an asset, as would experience in the ethical review process.
· Great quantitative analysis skills: This includes experience using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS
· Knowledge and understanding of intervention and prevention science
· Knowledge and experience of evidence synthesis: You know the different approaches and have carried out your own evidence synthesis projects.

About the team
This role will be part of a small Project Management Unit (PMU) located within the Programme Operations Team. About the role
The Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of monitoring, reporting, and learning processes for WaterAid’s Multi-country Urban Water Project. This is a bold initiative aiming to raise $40 million and reach two million people with clean water in urban areas across six anchor countries: Colombia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. The campaign also seeks to build a global movement of youth advocates to demand action from world leaders to achieve SDG 6 relating to universal access to water and sanitation.
This role ensures accurate, timely data collection and learning, promotes adaptive management, and supports evidence-based decision-making. Working closely with country teams and partners, the Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will strengthen monitoring and learning capacity, support the articulation and measurement of project impact, and help consolidate insights to inform both internal learning and sector-wide knowledge on urban water programming. This includes tracking progress towards the ambitious goal of reaching two million people.
The role will also support donor reporting, liaise with Member offices, and deputise for the Project Delivery Lead when required.

Requirements
To be successful, you will need:

The DRIVE Service Manager will be responsible for mobilising the expansion project across London, working closely with all Boroughs and te Drive Central Team.
The DRIVE Team (Case Managers and Team Leaders) will develop and co-ordinate an individual, multi-modal intervention plan for each Service User, which will incorporate support and/or disruption strategies; a pro-active approach to Service User engagement and commitment to working towards attitudinal and behavioural change, whilst keeping the victim’s safety central to any interventions implemented.
