The role of the Learning & Development Officer is to provide a consistent and high level of both operational delivery and administrative support by updating training information and maintaining training systems and processes. In areas such as leadership development, performance management, apprenticeships, and supporting a full range of mandatory, technical and management development. This relates to staff, volunteers, trustees and agency and contractors.
This role involves a high level of operational delivery, administration and multitasking so the job holder needs to be confident in being able to organise and prioritise their time and work efficiently, effectively and independently in order to be able to respond to a variety of requests and demands.

Role Requirements
- Maintain efficient administration systems that facilitate the smooth operation of the training function with the wider Organisational Development Team.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all enquiries directed to the Learning & Development Team, providing information and assistance as needed
- Oversee the management of the team inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to enquiries while taking ownership of all queries
- Process and oversee internal training bookings using Select HR (our HR System)
- Handle applications for external training, including organising payment and liaising with external trainers as necessary
- Manage all administrative tasks related to in-house training sessions, including generating delegate lists, preparing materials for trainers, and booking rooms, equipment, and catering as required
- Produce and distribute certificates for programme participants upon completion.
- Process invoices from external facilitators, including managing costings for other departments
- Organise & coordinate the training calendar for the following year by liaising with facilitators and colleagues and working with CET and Therapy teams
- Update schedules with changes/additions as they arise and inform training representatives and departments
- Planning and organising ‘ad hoc’ training sessions as and when required
- Prepare monthly induction programme including training memos, induction folders, session materials, catering requests & induction evaluations.
- Deliver brief Training session to new starters and help with tours where necessary
- Deliver appraisee training via teams
- Prepare for training sessions, including sending reminders, organising session materials, catering, room and equipment set up
- Create monthly training and PDR reports and chasing compliance where necessary working with line managers.
- Produce ‘due dates’ and other relevant training reports for managers as requested
- Deliver all training related activities for new starters.

Key Responsibilities
Development Finance Support and Recording Donations
· Accurately record donations received through a range of channels, including direct debit, bank transfer, online platforms, cheques, and cash, using both finance and development systems.
· Liaise closely with the Development Team to ensure donations are correctly classified and reported.
· Reconcile donation records between systems to maintain consistency and accuracy.
· Work with colleagues to identify missed pledge payments and recurring gifts.
· Maintain well‑organised and reliable financial and donor data to support effective reporting.
Gift Processing
· Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims in compliance with HMRC regulations.
· Process fortnightly Direct Debits and associated amendments.
· Maintain and update fund, campaign, and donor trackers, including research into historic funds.
Development Expenditure
· Work with the Development Director to ensure development‑related expenditure is recorded correctly.
· Monitor and report on Equals Money expenditure and other designated development funds.
Reporting and Budgeting
· Produce clear and accurate reports on income and expenditure for Finance and Development teams.
· Support reporting for the Finance & Planning Committee and Governing Body.
· Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting.
· Produce cost‑centre and ad hoc reports as required.
General Duties
· Provide flexible support to colleagues in Finance and Development.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

About the role

Main purpose of the role
The Community Leader is responsible for ensuring that the Community is living the mission of L’Arche, by providing excellent and sustainable care and support services, support for spirituality, and engaging with our neighbours and the wider community around us.
The Community Leader will:
- Lead the Community by responding to the needs, choices and context of our members while being faithful to the L'Arche UK Vision and Values, the L'Arche International Identity and Mission Statement, and to a co-created Community Mandate and plan;
- Maintain and enhance high-quality, person-centred care, support, and housing for people with learning disabilities, both at home and in our day services in partnership with the Registered Manager, the local and national teams, individual circles of support, and external partners.

- Foster a culture that maximises the voice and power for people with learning disabilities, and builds listening and collaboration between Community members. This will include working with an active Community Support Group, Community Gatherings, listening groups, and other forums.
- Lead and manage a committed and engaged leadership team to achieve objectives, set a positive culture, and support the personal and professional growth of our teams.
- Cultivate an open, creative, and inclusive spiritual life, inviting everyone in the Community to deepen their connections.
- Model, advocate for, and embrace the L’Arche ethos of deep, long-term, and mutually transforming relationships between people with and without learning disabilities. Plan and lead a regular calendar of events that build community belonging and help keep people connected.

- Good financial planning skills and experience successfully managing a substantial budget.

We are looking for an experienced museum and heritage professional with a curatorial and/or learning and engagement background to ensure our collection, archive and content development has relevance for diverse audiences and partners.

You’ll have a proven track record in scoping and securing funding for research and influencing activity, with significant autonomy to lead your own programme at L&W. You’ll be supported by committed researchers and managers whom you will coach, lead, and develop—alongside a peer group of Deputy Directors working across other key pillars. Main Purpose
The Deputy Director, Policy and Research (Better Work and Progression) will have overall ownership of the ‘Better Work’ pillar of our strategic plan at L&W: overseeing all projects and activity in this area and generating new work (including developing project ideas and securing funding).
While there is significant scope to shape the ongoing programme of research and impact work, we anticipate that key areas of focus in this area going forward will be: understanding & better supporting career change; understanding and improving policy to increase employer investment in skills; high quality and fair access apprenticeships and technical education; understanding how to better support progression from low pay.
They will be a senior leader for the organization – helping to continuously shape our strategy and the plans we are implementing to deliver it.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and management
- Intellectual leadership of the Better Work pillar: developing and owning policy positions, messages, theory of change and research priorities, and supporting the wider team to feed into and understand them
- Line management of senior and mid-level staff
- Act as a senior leader at L&W – including taking on specific organization-level responsibilities where appropriate

- Write and/or co-ordinate responses to reactive research and evaluation tenders in the areas of employment, better work and progression
- Develop pro-active proposals that will drive change in your area, and respond to the interests of funders and partners

- Act as an external expert on the issues of better work and progression: writing press quotes, articles and blogs;speaking on platforms
