About the role:
At Single Homeless Project (SHP), we believe in the power of learning to transform not only careers, but lives. As part of our blended learning approach, e-learning plays a key role in developing and empowering our staff to deliver the best possible support to people experiencing homelessness across London. This fixed-term role for 4–6 months, providing maternity cover with the potential for extension, offers a unique opportunity to shape the learning experiences of SHP staff by enhancing and expanding our e-learning offer. Based within our Learning and Development team, you’ll be surrounded by passionate and collaborative colleagues who are committed to delivering high quality training to staff, locums and volunteers across a wide range of topics.
In this role, you’ll be central to the creation and improvement of interactive, engaging e-learning content using Adapt authoring software. You’ll refine existing modules, build new ones from the ground up, and ensure learning materials are accessible, relevant and impactful. With a particular focus on tailored health and safety training and other priority subjects, you’ll work closely with subject matter experts across SHP to bring ideas to life. Whether you’re tweaking functionality, refining content or developing entirely new modules, your work will enable staff to grow in confidence and skill - helping them provide more effective, compassionate support to our clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, good IT and organisational skills, and a flair for creating learning content or presentations. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, take initiative and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.
About you:
- Highly IT literate to at least intermediate level, including a great working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, with excellent presentation skills.
- Competent in using the Adapt authoring tool, preferably within Learning Pool software, or ability to learn new design package and systems with ease.
- Understanding of learning or training design, with experience in e-learning content creation, or training delivery.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to co-ordinate multiple systems/processes and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
- Ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships both internally and externally and to work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders across the organisation.

Accountability & Learning Officer - Improve humanitarian responses through evidence and learning

When humanitarian crises strike, the DEC stands poised to co-ordinate and deliver incredible responses around the world.
Learning and insight are essential to improving how we respond and we’re now looking for an Accountability & Learning Officer to directly contribute to learning and growth for the DEC and our 15 member charities.
We need someone with monitoring and evaluation experience and a strong understanding of humanitarian crises globally to play a vital role in our dedicated charity.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is a unique membership organisation made up of 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian charities: Action Against Hunger, ActionAid UK, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, CARE International UK, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide (UK), International Rescue Committee, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Oxfam GB, Plan International UK, Save the Children UK, Tearfund, and World Vision UK.
When large-scale disasters strike countries that lack the resources to respond, we bring our member charities together to raise funds quickly and efficiently. In times of crisis, our mission is to save, protect, and rebuild lives through effective humanitarian action.
Working as one, we coordinate the UK public’s response to overseas disasters. Through our Rapid Response Network of media and corporate partners, we raise the alarm with the UK public and make donating as easy as possible, with most funds raised within the first two weeks of an appeal.

What You’ll Do
This role enables the DEC and our 15 member charities to effectively respond to humanitarian emergencies and provide timely, quality, community-focused assistance.
As an Accountability & Learning Officer, alongside your efforts to contribute to our learning and growth, you will shape our work to influence key policy agendas. You’ll be working across such areas as climate adaption, flexible funding for humanitarian action, and locally led humanitarian responses.
Overseeing our monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities, you will support the set-up of projects, build relationships, and co-ordinate activities in all our current operational theatres.
Specifically, your role will involve:
- Assessing humanitarian crises for DEC appeal eligibility
- Maintaining and improving reporting templates
- Setting up and overseeing key learning activities over the appeal cycle
- Overseeing our Collective Initiatives and Shared Services portfolio
- Supporting a range of DEC research and learning projects and reviews
- Helping members to achieve their climate and environment targets
- Leading the design and set up of regular learning events and workshops
- Acting as the key focal point for members’ and partners’ queries
- Acting as deputy for the Accountability & Learning Manager
What You’ll Bring
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and research design and/or implementation
- Experience in the international humanitarian/development/charity sector for an NGO, UN Agency or similar
- A strong understanding of humanitarian crises globally
- Detailed knowledge of humanitarian principles, programming, and how the sector operates
- A good understanding of Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks and methodologies used to monitor programmes and measure outcomes
- An understanding of and interest in key policy areas within the humanitarian system
- The ability to thoroughly check and clean large datasets and analyse quantitative and qualitative data
- A degree-level qualification (ideally a post-graduate level qualification) in a relevant discipline

About the team
This role will be part of a small Project Management Unit (PMU) located within the Programme Operations Team. This team enables the effective management of the International Programmes Department (IPD) through ensuring IPD Teams have access to robust high quality management policies, systems, process, tools and capabilities that work to support the delivery of programmes, enable the effective management of risk, and ensure strong financial planning and management. About the role
The Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will lead the design, coordination, and implementation of monitoring, reporting, and learning processes for WaterAid’s Multi-country Urban Water Project. This is a bold initiative aiming to raise $40 million and reach two million people with clean water in urban areas across six anchor countries: Colombia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Cambodia. The campaign also seeks to build a global movement of youth advocates to demand action from world leaders to achieve SDG 6 relating to universal access to water and sanitation.
This role ensures accurate, timely data collection and learning, promotes adaptive management, and supports evidence-based decision-making. Working closely with country teams and partners, the Monitoring & Learning Coordinator will strengthen monitoring and learning capacity, support the articulation and measurement of project impact, and help consolidate insights to inform both internal learning and sector-wide knowledge on urban water programming. This includes tracking progress towards the ambitious goal of reaching two million people.
The role will also support donor reporting, liaise with Member offices, and deputise for the Project Delivery Lead when required.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of the project monitoring and learning framework
- Support countries with timely and accurate data collections, analysis, learning and reporting
- Provide assurance on data quality and integrity
- Produce consolidated monitoring and learning reports, highlighting progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for adaptive management.
- Support with donor reporting and communications.
- Facilitate and support cross-country learning and knowledge sharing and work with technical teams to translate learning and into practical delivery changes.

Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- Degree level qualifications or experience or commensurate experience in relevant fields
- Strong demonstrable experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning in international development, preferably in WASH, urban development, or public health.
- Proven experience developing and managing MEL systems and processes for complex, multi-country or large-scale projects.
- Significant familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative MEL methods, participatory approaches, and adaptive management.
- Strong analytical and data management skills, including use of software for data analysis and visualisation
- Excellent facilitation, capacity building, and coaching skills to support country teams and partners.
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- Experience working with urban WASH programmes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
- Experience in participatory MEL approaches and adaptive programme management.
- Experience designing surveys using mWater software, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, and social accountability in MEL processes.
- Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or other relevant languages is an advantage.

About the role
We’re looking for a Learning and Development Coordinator (known internally as People Development Coordinator) with either experience in learning and development and/or a strong interest in building a career in the field to join our People Development Team
You’ll support the team in the coordination of internal and externally commissioned learning and development activities, working closely within the team, your departmental colleagues, and internal subject experts on a wide range of subjects and topics that are core areas for our workforce. You will maintain and continually improve our course evaluation, record keeping, and administrative processes, and bring new ideas and solutions to improve efficiency and measure impact. · Supporting the Programme Design and Impact Advisor (PDIA) to ensure that funded projects are effectively and efficiently monitored and evaluated and that learnings are captured, understood, shared and embedded into future work.
· Supporting the PDIA to promote and embed the use of the International Theory of Change and Quality Standards into ways of working.
· Supporting the implementation of, and conducting regular reviews into, the International Results Framework and associated MEL tools.
· Leading the collection, collation, storage, analysis and reporting of project and programme data, in line with the International Results Framework, to help demonstrate and communicate the impact of our international work.
· Supporting the preparation and review of internal reports in collaboration with programme staff, ensuring high-quality reporting, and that learning is captured and utilised.
· Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning practices across the UK and international teams, as well as partners, through training, workshops, webinars, etc.
About You
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or has the equivalent in experience.
You will also have:
· Demonstrable skills in monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning methods; including knowledge of best practices and experience with M&E frameworks, feedback, and learning processes.
· Significant knowledge or experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
· Proven experience of developing MEL training and mentoring approaches, designing and facilitating participatory capacity development activities targeted to non-expert audiences.
· A practical understanding of the principal evaluation methodologies, and data collection and analysis techniques.
· Competent IT skills, including MS Office
· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor approach for a wide range of audiences.

About the Role
- To provide a range of dance, drama and fitness sessions to develop members’ confidence, wellbeing, skills and knowledge
- Design, plan and teach dance routines for the Magpie Movers to perform at various internal and external events
- Write, direct and produce drama shows for the Drama-pies to perform within the day centre
- Supporting members to access community opportunities
- Forming a positive, friendly and professional relationship with the people you support

- Provide leadership to all members, acting as a positive role model at all times
Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am until 4:00 pm (37.5 Hours Per Week)
