Age UK Croydon have an established befriending service providing one-to-one befriending for older people in their home. We are now launching a new and exciting Gift of Friendship (GoF) Programme to run alongside this existing face to face and telephone befriending service.
The GoF programme will offer a new additional person-centred companionship service where volunteers and older people are matched to reduce loneliness and isolation together. The service is person centred and dependent on the goals of the individual which could include, going for a walk, going shopping, attending activities or helping an older person to build or regain confidence in going out and about and developing more social connections.
We are looking for excellent people skills, a strong initiative, and effective communications, including an ability to build relationships with clients and volunteers, and undertake matching in an astute and sensitive manner. You will also need excellent administration skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

The post holder will also work with the Director and programme team to deliver the charity’s marketing and communications plan. Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting in administration of events that bring senior media and cultural (museums; theatres) decision makers together with sustainability specialists through the course of the year
- Working with the Programmes team to deliver this a high profile new photography festival each July
- Backing the Explore team’s delivery of events and materials including the annual November expeditions and fieldwork festival and the development of the linked Handbook and wider events programme across the year.
- Supporting the Education team in running competitions and linked events
- Participating in membership renewal processing during the busiest period in January/February
- Contributing to the delivery of the Medals and Awards Ceremony and AGM and Reception
- Aiding the Collections team in its progressive re-organisation of stores around the building
- Assisting the Director’s Office team in getting the most out of our CRM in terms of network/contacts management
- Covering sickness for Front of House staff
- Administrative support throughout the Society’s Annual Conference
- General willingness to be a team player and provide support as and when needed to any department
In addition to general administration the role will bring or develop strong capabilities in getting the most out of our database (CRM) in relation to membership and wider contact development and tracking.

Salary and benefits:
This is a permanent, full time post subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months. The salary range for this post is £26,675 - £27,525 per annum per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The post is based in Kensington, London.

Job Title: Insight Officer (Children and Young People) - Engagement Development
Location: Home-base within the UK or based at one of our sites or Head Office in London.
Salary: £35,000 pro rata
Hours: 37.5 per week

This is an exciting time to join the Engagement Development team as we evolve our programmes, projects, and initiatives to help a wide range of audiences benefit from the transformational power of plants and gardening. We are undergoing a period of development across the Learning and Public Engagement division, taking an evidence-based approach to setting our future plans and goals. Reporting to the Insight and Impact Manager, as Insight Officer (Children and Young People), you will lead in collating insight for three key projects, two connected to our learning programmes and one around Young Garden Adventures for Public Programmes. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a project from the ground up, using pedagogical insight, behaviour change theory, and user feedback to strategically inform new programmes.

About the role

For the wider leadership team, you'll prepare high-quality documents and presentations, manage systems like SharePoint and the intranet, and ensure meetings and away days are well-organised and productive. You'll help monitor progress against strategic objectives, maintain the Directorate Risk Register, and keep projects on track and within budget.

Purpose of the job
This role creates a positive impact for young people by managing partners through the effective delivery of our youth work programmes, delivering high quality facilitation and training and building excellent relationships across a region to contribute to improvements in our network offer.
Working with Project Mangers across Network Delivery, you will enable the effective delivery of our provision to the youth sector through effective contract management and support for partnerships with Delivery Partners and Grantees. You will deliver high quality training and facilitated sessions, translating curriculum and content into engaging and effective delivery. Working across the Northeast of England, Wales and Northern Ireland you will pro-actively build relationships with organisations and networks and foster connections that will help to unlock youth work for all young people. You will gather insights from across your area to feed into and contribute to the development of our offer to our network.

Key responsibilities
Programme delivery

Account and contract management of relationships with a portfolio of Delivery Partners and Grantees within your geographical location

Ensure that Delivery Partners and Grantees understand their programme and grant requirements and are successfully delivering against those

Support Project Managers in coordinating and administering a range of project activities through the project lifecycle including contracting, onboarding, monitoring progress, event management and delivery and data collection

Conduct visits to youth organisations engaged in our digital and physical delivery

Support the Impact team with monitoring and evaluation of our work as required, including data input and collection

Support the External Relations team with opportunities to engage media and politicians with specific projects.
Facilitation and training

Deliver engaging and effective facilitation, training and events across both digital and physical platforms.

Network Development
