Overview and key points on the role
As the Manager of our Training & Prevention team you will lead and grow our Training & Prevention offer.
 

You will focus on the development and management of training to a range of audiences, including internal staff and volunteers, and other frontline professionals. 
 

You will also manage our sexual violence prevention work in schools, colleges, and universities, coordinate our Service User Advisory Group, and supervise two Training & Prevention Support Workers.
 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about trauma-informed, intersectional practice, with experience in education, facilitation, and leadership within the violence against women and girls sector.

About the vacancy

In this role, you will support a steering group of volunteer parents and carers who oversee the running of the Forums.  Your excellent organisational skills will ensure parents and carers have a voice at key local meetings, plus you will arrange monthly events for parents and carers such as workshops with key local decision-makers.  You will provide opportunities for parents and carers to develop their own networks of support through WhatsApp & social media, and oversee the publication of bi-annual newsletter. Each year, you will use your analytical skills to measure the impact the Forum is having on the lives of its members and recommend areas for development to the steering group, always seeking to improve the service and reach more families.  

You will line-manage a Forum Administrator who will support you and the work of the Forums. 

This important role forms part of our charity’s strategic offer to local parents and carers.  You will join our senior team plus you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the wider work of the charity such as by attending fun community fundraising activities, working with our partners, and enjoying our social events.

You will receive our mandatory training in safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, equal opportunities & diversity and mental health, plus more technical training including risk assessment and first aid.

The BDA is seeking a new Research Manager to work as part of the Education and Professional Practice Team, leading on the research and impact activities of professional dietetic practice. The role will also provide line management within the team.

The role will suit a candidate with a sound understanding and experience of the breadth of dietetic practice and research, and the factors that influence it. Working innovatively the post holder will develop and progress research within dietetic practice, building confidence in the dietetic workforce to be research active.

We are looking for somebody who is an expert in research methodologies, and appraisal and is comfortable setting and influencing research strategy.  Ideally we would like somebody who has or is studying for their doctorate in dietetics and experience working in a practice setting would be advantageous. This is a senior internal and external facing role working alongside the Director of Education Practice and Research, and the Education and Practice Managers. The candidate will enjoy supporting colleagues and members to engage and deliver research related projects, and demonstrate impact through evidence-based practice.

Main Responsibilities

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, with travel to our London office at least twice weekly and some national travel required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Proven successful track record of planning and delivering high quality teaching of accredited and non-accredited provision in a relevant subject and at appropriate level(s).

• Experience of devising course outlines and schemes of work.
• Experience of assessing and recording progress, both in accredited and non-accredited learning and supporting learners.

Responsibilities

Training & Development Strategy

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of engaging and relevant training in line with contractual and organisational requirements.

STEM Learning is seeking a dynamic and creative Community and Content Officer to join our innovative Marketing and Communications team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the STEM Ambassadors Community to support the organisation in inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators. The STEM Ambassadors Community is an online community of practice for STEM Ambassador volunteers (STEM professionals who encourage young people to take up STEM subjects and careers) to share ideas, resources and support.

The Role

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining a vibrant online community that connects STEM Ambassadors, educators and partners. Working alongside the Community and Content Manager, you’ll:

• Create compelling content: Lead on the development of content, curate engaging campaigns and identify the best distribution channels that will bring STEM to life.
• Foster engagement: Lead initiatives like competitions and milestone celebrations, interact with community members and curate diverse content to increase engagement and keep the community buzzing with activity.
• Platform support: Facilitate the effective use of the online platform (Higher Logic Thrive) and provide guidance to members, educators and STEM Ambassadors.
• Build partnerships: Collaborate with key employers, educational institutions and volunteers to amplify the community’s impact.
• Shape the future: Take ownership of innovative projects and continuously improve how we engage and inspire our network.
