Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead Learning on Screen’s digital development team. We’re looking for a MEAL specialist who is, at heart, a peacebuilder.  You’ll deputise for the Regional Director as needed, and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.

As Regional Head of MEAL, your work will go above and beyond reporting to the donor on logframe outputs and outcomes to the donor, as important as those are.  With your extensive peacebuilding experience, you’ll work with the team to develop and implement sophisticated metrics for measuring these changes over time.  You’ll feed this information back into programme delivery, to ensure programmes remain accountable to the wider population and adapt to the rapidly changing and fragile contexts in which we work.

You’ll also use your flair for writing and your publishing skills to produce more informal news items, telling stories of the impact of our work, and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues we facilitate.  This will help us amplify voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based policy making.

Role Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the programme’s monitoring and evaluation systems

Develop and oversee the systems to monitor and evaluate activities and their impact

Evaluate and enhance existing data collection tools used during previous monitoring exercises

Evaluate and enhance existing metrics to measure attitudinal and behavioural change resulting from programme activities.

Design the implementation plan to monitor and evaluate programme delivery.

Contribute to the development of Concordis’ peacebuilding methodology, policy, strategy and monitoring and evaluation.

Responsible for programme monitoring and evaluation

Ensure the programme adapts and evolves to meet the needs identified, remaining accountable to communities affected by conflict.

Monitor against performance indicators to check that the project is delivering as planned.  Identify issues and agree action plans to address.

Monitor against the Theory of Change and ensure the programme is achieving the intended impact.   If not, identify what needs to change and how to create that change.

Capture learning and identify what worked, what didn’t work and what we’d do differently next time.

Responsible for producing timely internal and external reports

Lead the MEAL team to produce monthly and bi-annual donor reports on all regional programme activities.

Generate clear, professional and visually attractive reports that explain the impact of our work and the recommendations from our dialogues.

Work with the Communications team producing informal news items, telling the story of the impact of our work and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues facilitated by Concordis.

Create a culture of accountability and learning across the Regional Team

Lead on ensuring staff across the programme understand the role of MEAL in their work and have the skills to operate the required systems and capture the data.

Deliver training and coaching on our approach to MEAL, techniques and tools to the wider team.

Leadership responsibility in the Regional Team

Deputise for the Central African Regional Director in their absence.

As part of the regional Senior Leadership Team oversee the work and staff teams in the regional hubs in CAR, Cameroon, Chad and Sudan.

In this role you will:

• Be a central and focal advocate for stakeholders who engage with the programme, from Carer Poverty Alleviation Team members, wider Carers Trust colleagues and external partners.
• Coordinate a Carer Poverty Alleviation Programme Partner learning framework, committed to sharing practice in the delivery of high quality support for unpaid carers across the UK.
• Contribute to the UK Programmes Team in achieving its objectives, making sure current data and evidence informs team plans and overall Carers Trust strategy.
• Undertake a range of programme and grant making activities to support and drive the ambitions outlined within Carers Trust’s strategy.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will have responsibility for the coordination and administration of a range of learning and development activities and events for the Agbero2100 London programme.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will develop robust learning and development systems and processes. The role holder will be the first point of contact for learning and development queries and be responsible for all related administration, ensuring a ‘get it right first-time' ethos is adopted. Responsibilities will also include supporting the learning and development partners in capturing Agbero2100 London Programmes learning pan-London through a series of programmes covering communities practice learning opportunities, community leadership and enterprise development.

The Learning and Development Coordinator will report to the Learning Practice Director and the Agbero2100 Programme Manager in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programmes and initiatives for the Agbero2100 Programme. The Learning and Development Coordinator will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop learning solutions, coordinate learning activities and measure learning outcomes.

The Start Funds MEAL Officer will work with colleagues within both SCUK and Start Network. Previously (until May 2019) Start Network and Start Funds and Programmes were hosted by Save the Children UK (SCUK) since its creation in 2012. The position sits within Save the Children UK as a Grant Custodian on behalf of the Start Network supported by a Grant Custodian Agreement (GCA) which describes the roles and commitments of each entity.

About the role
The Start Network funds have a robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) portfolio to strengthen evidence-based learning, performance and overall accountability towards the people affected by or at-risk of crises, donors, members, and partners.

• Produce and support various thematic research, reviews, studies and learning products according to the MEAL work plan.
• Support capacity building activities for the Start Funds Programme team and the wider and membership for relevant themes such as data quality, evidence-based programming etc.
• Support the MEAL Advisor in business development activities including the scaling-up of the Start Funds.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Previous experience delivering MEAL for humanitarian or development programmes
• Excellent data analysis skills
• Proven experience of embracing new approaches, technology and ways of working
• Experience of using qualitative and quantitative analysis software
• Experience of using Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present data and evidence in a user-friendly form and to stakeholders at different levels
• Demonstrable experience of strong teamwork capabilities and collaboration
• Undergraduate degree, ideally in social science, research methods, humanitarian response or related fields
• Language skills - working proficiency in Spanish

About the role

As a Digital Learning Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing technology-based learning solutions and resources that enable the successful delivery of specialist training courses across the Save the Children movement and the wider humanitarian sector. Working collaboratively with colleagues from across the team and partners, you will also advise on digital delivery, curriculum design, emerging technology, methodologies and research in this area.

In this role, you will: 

• Provide specialist digital learning expertise to support the design and development of quality online courses, blended learning programmes and other resources for the HLA and partners.
• Coordinate and support projects with Learning Solution Specialists and Regional teams and outside subject matter experts to define requirements, learning objectives, scope and delivery mechanisms.
• Design technical solutions that focus on end users' needs and complete project documentation.

• Work with the Creative Partnerships and New Business Development team to support the internal and external communications and marketing of products which have been utilised with others.

About you

The ideal candidate will be a specialist in instructional design, with demonstratable experience of creating storyboards and developing copy for digital content that tells stories, communicates complex ideas and engages learners.  A creative and innovative individual with strong analytical and technical abilities and experience of manging digital projects.

It is important that you have:

• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools to develop engaging learning and experiences (Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, Elucidat, Gomo, Evolve, Adapt).
• Working knowledge of developing courses for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), ideally Moodle and/or Totora.
• Understanding of industry standards for digital learning resources (SCORM, AICC, LTI and xAPI) and experience of quality assuring and publishing resources onto LMS and other platforms.
• Experience of developing multilingual learning resources and localising content for specific regions.
• Experience of the use of standard industry tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign) to produce professional graphics and documents.

The Start Funds MEAL Officer will work with colleagues within both SCUK and Start Network. Previously (until May 2019) Start Network and Start Funds and Programmes were hosted by Save the Children UK (SCUK) since its creation in 2012. The position sits within Save the Children UK as a Grant Custodian on behalf of the Start Network supported by a Grant Custodian Agreement (GCA) which describes the roles and commitments of each entity. 

About the role

The Start Network funds have a robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) portfolio to strengthen evidence-based learning, performance and overall accountability towards the people affected by or at-risk of crises, donors, members, and partners.

Reporting to the Crisis Financing MEAL Lead, the CARF MEAL Officer will play an important role to support the ongoing MEAL activities of anticipation, early action and risk financing initiatives, with a larger focus on the impact of Start Network's newest finance mechanism, Start Ready.

This role will particularly focus on MEAL requirements and activities funded by European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operation (ECHO) and will support and work closely with CARF MEAL Advisor and the Learning and Research Advisor (within the Evidence and Learning Team).

In this role, you will: 

Performance

• Support development, monitoring, and reporting of anticipation, early action and risk financing initiatives' Key Performance Indicators used in donor reporting, governance committee meetings and in other external fora as required, with a specific focus on MEAL requirement and activities funded by European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operation (ECHO).
• Strengthen management information systems and processes for data quality, storage and visualisation.
• Contribute towards the identification and implementation of diverse and innovative approaches to MEAL.
• Support the annual post-season learning reviews of the various Disaster Risk Financing systems.

Accountability

• Deliver and enhance Start Funds' quality, accountability and monitoring practices to members, partners and affected populations by organising and facilitating learning debriefs and pre/post season workshops and reviewing project report forms.

Knowledge

• Contribute towards continuous improvement of technical quality, processes and outputs of CARF MEAL including, but not limited to, the development of methodological guidelines, MEAL tools and approaches.
• Produce and support various thematic research, reviews, case studies and learning products according to the CARF MEAL work plan.

Teamwork

• Liaise with Senior Strategic Partnership Officer –ECHO and programme/operational staff to support all ECHO MEAL requirements.
• Work with the Start Communications and Digital Team and the Start Programmes Communications Manager to ensure visibility, awareness, and learning, on the role and use of forecast-based information for anticipatory responses.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Previous experience delivering MEAL in national and/or international contexts for humanitarian or development programmes.
• Previous experience of reporting on donor or funders grants (ideally ECHO Grants) in an international organisation.
• Excellent data analysis skills.
• Proven experience of embracing new approaches, technology and ways of working.
• Experience of using qualitative and quantitative analysis software.
• Experience of using Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present data and evidence in a user-friendly form and to stakeholders at different levels.
• Demonstrable experience of strong teamwork capabilities and collaboration.
• Undergraduate degree, ideally in social science, research methods, humanitarian response or related fields.
• Language skills in either French, Spanish or Arabic.

Black-and-Racialised groups face many challenges that inhibit their ability to thrive and deliver quality services that meet the needs of their users. About the PVRI
We’re a small charity with a global reach and an important purpose: to reduce the burden of pulmonary vascular disease (PVD) - a serious condition that can lead to heart damage and trigger symptoms like breathlessness, chest pain, fatigue, poor growth, fainting, and light-headedness. PVD can reduce both quality of life and length of life, but it isn’t widely recognised or well-understood.

Role purpose

This role would suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a charity finance role, who has experience or knowledge of all the core accounts department processes and some understanding of different charity income streams. Responsibilities

• Day to day management and systems administration of Xero accounting software, expenses software (ExpenseIn), and other linked financial applications.

• Prepare monthly management accounts journals (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, deferred and accrued income) and control account reconciliations.
• Being the systems administrator for the Fundraising CRM system (Donorfy) and linked platforms and applications (e.g. JustGiving, Stripe, EventBright).
• Database management of Donorfy and linked platforms and applications.
• Reconcile data between Donorfy and Xero, and where necessary, with other linked platforms and applications.
• Ensure Gift Aid returns are correctly submitted to HMRC (via Donorfy)
• Support with the development and implementation of new systems and procedures.
